  1. And I use to walk to school...
  2. I'd love to know what country you come from, where there are no rules around drinking and its up to "self responsibility". In other countries (as you point out) they don't serve them if they drunk... doesn't work! All it does is shift some liability to bars after the fact. (and who decides if someone is drunk (ie over the limit) ! Very impractical in thailand!! As I'm sure you would agree, with a bit of common sense) ) DuI laws need to get tougher. But that ain't going to happen if you can buy your way out and Thais and foreigners treated differently.
  3. "jerks". Wow you too nice. Haven't heard that term for years. You can call them what you like. But you right, the quality of tourists dropped off a cliff when weed was legalised. Now every other story is about fights in the street (one side or both are these jerks!). Why would anyone with money (ie the tourists they want to attract) travel to Thailand.
  4. The Association should be embarrassed with those comments. 28 baht a day per employee. Who works 27 to 30 days a month! Slave labour and they want to complain about a slight increase. Wow!
  5. And you thought someone would say. "Just right click on the c drive icon and select make bigger" . 😁. if you not sure what you doing or worried, buy an external hard drive. It's as easy as plug and play... Then drop some of the old files from C drive there. Spend a day cleaning up old files. You have a place to store old files (in case PC crashes) Videos and photos and docs. While cleaning up and freeing up your C drive.
  6. Thanks for the random, nothing to do with the story rant. Adds a bit of fun to an otherwise boring story 😁
  7. Once you find the right location to live you will wonder why you didn't come sooner. Don't worry about the sex trade or night life in your face. I see more "ladies" near my condo in BKK then I do in Pattaya. You can find a nice quiet location within 10 mins of the main city, I'm in jomtien and love it, small village setting with a villa, 10 min walk to beach. Small Restaurants and bars around. There are many other areas also, you just need to look around and decide what's important for you and family. I guess if you have kids you will need to think about schools and locations closer to that. Maybe not the same amount of family activities available in Pattaya but you learn to adapt to a quieter lifestyle. And find things to do. And outside of Central Pattaya the prices are about half what things cost in BKK which is a plus. Beer 65/75. Lunch 70/100. Dinner 150. Rent depends on location. But it's going to be much cheaper than bkk.
  8. The question is why he wasted his time writing the OP. I only read half of it to get to the comments, to watch people call him a moron!!
  9. We know you not leaving tomorrow but nice to be dramatic. Since u not been here in 17yrs.did u think Pattaya just close and wait for you to come back? Things, Society and you change over time. Whatever nationality will come and spend money that's the end of story. I bet you look different too!
  10. He's trying to be funny while insulting his wife. He got half it right!
  11. Under LTR my overseas income is tax free! Tax free at home and here! A big attractive for some with wealth. I'm not rich. But its a huge attraction for me, and others
  12. You are right. Bang on!! Sorry to burst the bubble, but Thailand doesn't need pensioners on the min state pension and zero cash. Using agents to cheat their way into Thailand. (the 800k in a bank is a joke amount, if you don't have that you shouldn't have retired in the first place! And moving to a foreign country with no benefits or medical coverage OMG.. You would think this is common sense 101) If you dont have the min required don't come here. Sure Vietnam Cambodia philipeans will take you on the cheap, good for them. Can't wait for the posts to be filled with I'm. Move there, and they never do!!!! And regarding the story, what a load of click Bait dripple. Im on LTR now, I had DTV and Non O before. And they are ALL so easy to get, what's the authors point? Rather than say " oh now there are other options available, not just Non O and OA..." they make it sound like they phasing them out which is BS. Just to wind up expats. (FYI. You don't need 80k income. That's just one of many different thresholds) Can't wait for next week's recycled story about expats requiring a medical plan, as they should!
  13. What other country have you been too where a tourist is able to open and then hold a bank account, and without proper ID. (and not because they don't like you!) Yes you have to leave Thailand now given they are enforcing the laws. Or should I say common sense.
  14. Thailand getting a bad rep? (read headline again). I think most of us intelligent people are thinking what an idiot for smuggeling this <deleted>! You can't blame Thailand for someone being stupid and greedy! If guilty don't you think he should sit in jail? Or just blame thailand for making it legal and not asking him at the departure lounge if he stuffed his suitcase with weed.
  15. Ya. No one is getting sick. I heard that on FB and its the truth!! Also the flu does not exist and the common cold is a scam. Don't listen to these Dr's and scientists they are all scammers telling you these lies.
  16. It looks like they referring to tax resident. Not just Thais. While the rules aren't clear it will apply to all "tax residence" (ie 180 day or more in year)
  17. Have always had to wear in Sanctuary. It's been under renovation for as long as I can remember.
  18. Good suggestions Id also present a letter by you as the spouse saying you financially support her during trip. BUT most important give supporting evidence that she is going to return to Thailand. While having property is one, it's not a strong one, A job in Thailand is a good one or family in Thailand (another albeit on the weak side) Another word of caution. VFS is brutal to deal with! They have no problem rejecting applications for any reason. And since they answer to no one they don't care (they are not the UK government they are just an agent). So make sure everything is don't 100% correct. They don't care if you leaving in June. They only care about themselves!!! Overall. Tourists visa for. Spouse is not that hard or difficult. And usually approved. Just make sure application is filled out in full and correctly. Good luck
  19. Here we go again. Online experts who knows better than trained Dr's and scientists, not to mention the facts!!
  20. She claims! After the fact and we don't believe her. We go by what she actually said, which is fact. Doesn't matter where she from... She was disrespectful. To blame someone else for filming her is crazy!
  21. i think you mixing up Visas the GWP is under the LTR not DTV.
  22. it is an odd one, they ask for proof of residence (utility bill) but not flights (so nothing to prevent you from applying while not in HK)
