  1. I've been eating a lot of the Lindt stuff for years. There was even a class action against them. Not sure why it was dismissed. https://www.consumerreports.org/health/food-safety/lead-and-cadmium-in-dark-chocolate-a8480295550 https://topclassactions.com/lawsuit-settlements/consumer-products/food/lindt-dark-chocolate-class-action-claims-some-products-contain-lead-cadmium
  2. I was wondering why I've been looking more like Iron Man lately.
  3. You are supposed to take the foil wrapping off first.
  4. I just tried Booking forJuly 15th for one night via the app. For me it was higher. That site also doesn't add taxes until checkout, but at least lists them up front. I also got two different prices based on one adult versus two adults staying in the room. About 80 Baht higher for two adults.
  5. Praise those e-bike batteries. 😉
  6. The 10%, 1-2 hour discount has never made any difference for me. I stopped using it.
  7. Great. What time should I meet you there? Booking and Agoda are owned by the same parent company. Also, need to be careful though. Some sites don't show final price with taxes until last screen. Agoda shows final price up front. Trip.com is trickier and shows cheap price at first and then adds tax at checkout.
  8. I just tried it again. Now it's dropped to 712 Baht.
  9. Are you on VPN with a Western IP address? Best to always use Thai IP. Prices tend to be lower for domestic users. In fact, many travel sites serve different prices based on user location. It may not change much if logged into an existing account, but anonymous users often find location helps with pricing.
  10. Only a square??? I do 100 grams a day.
  11. I'm getting 718 Baht in the app. May have something to do with membership tier. Anyway, close enough.
  12. Banana 30 grams of nuts Protein drink Read annoying posts on AN Waank Back to sleep
  13. Try July 15th for one night. I'm getting 718 Baht all in. It changes from day to day. Booking a few days in advance is usually less.
  14. Thanks. No joke, but a few years ago I accidentally got some of that bathroom cleaning chemical on my skin on my body and broke out in a serious and inflamed deep red rash that was a bit painful and itchy. Took a couple of weeks of applying hydrocortisone cream to to it 2-3 times per day to get rid of it. Since then I've stopped using all of those harsh chemicals around the home completely. Even the fumes are very toxic to breathe in. I threw them all away. I now clean everything with clear white vinegar. It works as good, if not better than any bathroom cleaner. Mix it half/half with dish washing liquid and put it in a spray bottle. Then spray it on anything and let it sit for about 15-20 minutes. Then rinse it off with cold water and everything is removed; lime scale, mold, fungus, dirt, etc. Great for faucets, tile walls, toilets, glass shower doors, mirrors, etc. Natural and non/toxic and 3 liters for only 60 Baht.
  15. How much for 19 minutes?
  16. Isn't the old adage that if it F, F, or Fs then you should always rent and never own?
  17. Mine normally last about 2 years before lime scale eventually destroys them. Yours looks good too, but a bit pricey. I'll try one though. 😃
  18. Bear in mind that the healthcare coverage provided through the Thai Social Security system is generally for services at Thai government hospitals. When a foreigner (or Thai national) pays into the Social Security system, they are typically assigned to a specific government hospital where they can receive medical care. Personally I don't have great confidence in many of the government hospitals I've seen. However, in some cases, if the assigned government hospital cannot provide the required treatment, patients might be referred to other government or even private hospitals, but this is subject to approval and specific conditions set by the Social Security Office. Direct access to private hospitals under the Social Security scheme is not standard practice and typically requires additional private health insurance.
  19. Foreigners working in Thailand and paying into the Social Security system are indeed eligible for healthcare coverage under the Social Security system. The contribution rate for Social Security is a percentage of the employee’s salary, and the cost can be around 750 baht per month, but this varies based on income and current contribution rates set by the Thai government. For those not employed and contributing to the Social Security system, they wouldn’t typically be eligible for this coverage.
  20. When I was a teenager I had a friend who used to go up to girls and say "So, how do you like me so far". Half of them were a bit confused and didn't know how to respond and the other half slept with him. Not sure it would have the same effect in Thailand though. A bit too cocky I think.
  21. Thai women don't require clever pickup lines. Best straight forward approach after saying hello to her with a smile is: "I like you. Do you have a boyfriend?" If the woman isn't interested she will say she has one, even when she doesn't. Then no time wasted and an easy way out for her without creating an uncomfortable situation for either party. If she is interested then she will say she doesn't have one, regardless if she has one or not. And then you are in.
  22. This issue is bigger than left or right.
  23. Nothing is ever achieved by staying in a jail cell.
  24. That is all true, but the US was still aiming for far more than that and didn't get it. Julian Assange had an appeal hearing scheduled for July 9-10, 2024. The hearing would have addressed the U.S. assurances regarding Assange’s freedom of expression protections under the First Amendment if he were to be extradited to the United States. The High Court in London had very recently granted Assange permission to appeal on the grounds that the U.S. has not adequately assured Assange that he would be protected under these rights. Therefore, reports indicate that Julian Assange’s release was simply expedited due to the forthcoming July court date where those First Amendment issues were expected to be aired out, addressed and challenged in a court of law. This court hearing in July was seen as a big potential challenge for the U.S. government, particularly regarding the implications for press freedom and the rights of journalists under the First Amendment and, thus the US didn't want that issue argued in a court of law in a high profile case like this. So it was a US government fear of bad optics that freed him. Thus, as a result, the U.S. quickly agreed to the plea deal that just led to Assange’s release.
  25. Stay in jail in solitary confinement for the rest of your life or sign a piece of paper that says something that you don't agree with and you go free. No brainer isn't it?
