  1. Which is why i went and got my License on Tuesday, before the supposed rule change. Showed up the day before and DLT Information Desk said I had to watch the 5 hour video and take a written test, video had started 20 minutes before so i was s.o.l. that day. Went home and the wife called DLT help line and got told to come in the next day for my physical test, gave a list of documents to bring etc. Tuesday morning was there before 8:30am, got sat down as people from 3 different desks looked over my documents, eventually I was given the Physical which consisted of a gas and brake pedal test, a color code test using a gaming controller, a depth perception test using a gaming controller, and the final test was flashing lights testing peripheral vision. No video to watch, no written test to take After passing the physical testing i went and paid 205 Baht for a Car License, then went and sat down to take a photo for my 2 year DL.... All together, that morning took about less than 3 hours. People were friendly and two members of the staff had impeccable English skills😁
  2. Well, quite the shake up at the Ministry. What the future brings I'm curious to see play out....

  4. Where are those Concrete Panels and Posts available at???
  5. Luckily, i learned to drive in the desert of southern california where there were no roads or lines or traffic lights, so i do ok here. Still call out the idiots constantly but the wife said as long as i dont use my horn she wont worry too much. People here in Udon Thani will actually pull a gun on you over traffic🤣
  6. Rice chaff has nowhere near the calories of hay. They're underfed from the environment lol. Also, a fat cow would die of heat exhaustion pretty quick out here. I hear there are some pretty enterprising Thais out there breeding Angus, but you're not gonna see em on the side of the road anytime soon
  7. YouTubers in Thailand? Nope. YouTubers that I watch for Gaming or Warhammer 40k, I'd buy 'em a drink and offer to cook an American Meal with Thai Ingredients😁
  8. You tread dangerous ground posting Thai Politics in a forum.
  9. So many fellow farangs would be shocked by how much wearing a button down shirt and closed toe shoes when dealing with any Thai who has a little "authority" or social status means to Thais. I have never been harassed or given the run around when dealing with a Bank or Immigration by following this rule. Oh, and a fresh haircut and well groomed appearance goes a long way too.
  10. Go to DoHome or HomePro and buy you a Safe. No need to have a Safety Deposit Box that you may or may not be able to get into when you need to....
  11. Not 100% True. He's an American and has access to Treaty of Amity, so he wouldn't need a Thai Majority Shareholder...
  12. We did Steak, Pork Streak, and Mashed Potatoes with Gravy and Garlic Bread. Still cheaper than Merica😅
  13. Sure ya do Bob👍
  14. For me it was the 15 years after I got out the Army. Bounced between some 20 jobs, moved interstate 8 times, couldn't get a steady relationship for those years. Finally was talked into going and asking the VA for help by a highschool friend and it changed my life. Took about 4 years but finally got all I was obliged to and came to Thailand to meet friends. Ended up meeting my wife, now we have kids and are comfortable in Isaan. Wife and kids are all Dual Citizens for America and Thailand and I follow the rules so I can stay with them, Home is wherever they are.
