Denied entry for being tattooed
Can now add SS to the list, he obviously is suffering here !!

Denied entry for being tattooed
Better idea would be to give the immigration officer at the airport some flash cards with photos of: tattoos, bare chested men, people with beards ( for the ultra sensitive aka Possum ) and ladyboys etc etc. If any of the incoming foreigners winces or shows any signs of repugnance then instant refusal of entry !! Don’t need these sheltered upbringing nancy boys showing their disgust for perfectly normal people ( except for the ladyboys of course !! ).

Brazil Nuts - where to buy in Pattaya
Not really, Castanha do pará literally means Nuts from Pará ( Pará being a State in Brazil ). Castanha de Caju means Cashew Nuts or Nuts from Cajueiro ( Cajueiro being the tree or plant native to northeastern coastal areas of Brazil ) the tree bears the caju apple, a fruit, each one has a caju nut attached to the underneath. The fruit is commonly used for juice and the nut is poisonous until cooked. Seen everywhere on large Brazilian coastal towns like Aracaju. All nuts, Hazelnuts, Walnuts, Brasil or Cashew etc are referred to as Castanha except for Peanuts which are Amendoim and thought of as a legume rather than a nut.

Brazil Nuts - where to buy in Pattaya
Castanha do Pará actually, Castanha do Brasil means Brazil Nuts and is not what Brazilians call them.

Taking a fruit basket to immigration.
My Thai spouse does take over the conversation when there is something I don’t fully understand but normally i would try to lead the conversation which i am sure pleases the immigration officers more than a foreigner who takes no interest in the culture of the country he has decided to settle in. “ taking some fruit, biscuits or a coffee “ is a pleasantry i agree, i hope you also show the same courtesy to bank staff, hospital staff, restaurant staff, staff in Be-Quik, Big C, Top Chareon, PTT, your local market etc etc to eliminate any perception of a bribe for favourable service at immigration ?

Taking a fruit basket to immigration.
Why would you bribe someone who is doing their job ? I smile pleasantly to the courteous ones and show disdain to those sour faced ones. I once saw an idiot farang walking in with a huge beam on his face and a family size pizza in his hands, the immigration officers looked at him with a combined “ not this farking idiot again ! “ look on their faces. Do what you want but I won’t support corruption, it only means they will expect it and make it harder for those who don’t comply !

Thai Man Stabs British Tourist in Jomtien
Yep, but the anti Brit members here are already defending the Thai’s actions. As usual, don’t need the full details just pick a side and go with it seems the typical knee jerk reaction from many posters on here.

What do you wear on your feet in Thailand? Or is it nothing at all?
I too wear the cheap sandals, before I would wear the leather sandals ( similar to your bottom photo ) with the memory foam in soles from Bata or the like, very comfortable but the soles would always crack after a while.

Barefoot in the house, cheap rubber “ slides “ in the garden or popping to 7-11, flip flops irritate me between the toes. Going out i nearly always wear sandals, trainers and socks if driving any distance or plan to walk any tourist area or market etc.
