  1. They are not some western world and exchange shop, 1 dollar is often useless to them too as it costs more + is hard to exchange for them. They want new bills, so it is likely either 40 USD or else in THB. I would always carry at least 10K baht anyway when crossing into Laos etc, its remote there.
  2. If you do a visa run you can tell them at most places to Laos at the desk, i that case you usally just give them the money and not need to fill in any paperwork. They stamp you in and out right away then too so you can go back to TH. At least that is how it is at the borders up north.
  3. So what is the question? Go to a shop and they can get you either a traditional sim card or the esim most likely. If you want to convert it it will likely take some processing time and paperwork at the shop too, but should not be a issue, as you then can have your old sim still inside the phone while also already having configured the new esim, which takes a while to be active with your older number (1-3 days).
  4. 1) Main daypack / laptopbag: always with me: all essentials 2) Normal bagpack, could fit the main daypack inside + clothes, first aid, more stuff like that. 3) Large backpack that cna fit normal bagpack and daypack with survival gear, in case i remain stuck here, as well as solar / powerbanks, sat phone etc. In normal conditions just my main daypack and a carry on suitcase with clothes, doesn't take much time to pack anyway and if it is worse you likely can't even go back to get your bags anyways too. That is why I always carry my main one with me. At the end, with enough money, you can buy any items needed on the way again. Buy a biz class flight emirates and you now have a full equiped toilet bag, then buy some clothes in free duty and take a shower + change in the business lounges.
  5. Order it with grab, if there is any store over there on grab. Little chances otherwise.
  6. How can you live in Samui that long, to not even have a contact or exact details / solutions, it seems many of you oldies really live under stones. Sorry but can't really make it better in words lol, figure it out, pay a bit of money, get it done.
  7. You can do a visa extension anywhere you want.
  8. in/out on that space left? You need 2 empty pages to begin with to enter almost any country.
  9. You would need the place to be a homestay license, similar to guesthouses, when not being big enough for a hotel license. You would obviously need a Thai business partner regardless too, specially if you also deal with it remotely, else is gonna cause many issues if a cleaner disapears etc. Without that license airbnb would be illegal technically with under 30 day stays. You can ignore the nonsense comment above about needing a work permit or 4 employees, specially for the business concept you have in mind. Why on earth would anyone obtain a work permit for such business, OP is not needing to do any psychical or offline work that requires that, neither would there be a minimum of employees, can even be zero.
  10. It has nothing to do with age, more likely has lot to do with your testosterone levels if you already feel like your on the last turn in your life at mid 50's. Diet plays a big role too, as well your psychical condition (overweight? etc).
  11. I disagree entirely, I only had benefits from living here long-term in almost any bar, all over the country. It also saves me from being tried to be hassled, get the nonsense stories etc. The condition however is that I also always make sure I'm shaved, smelling good, decent dressed and do still buy them their drinks like anyone is expected to do, when going to such places. Only thing that is a benefit of saying you are a new tourist is that, if you enjoy them screaming and talking loud, inviting their sisters over to the table etc etc is fun for the person going... Also would be pretty sure the majority of real first time tourists are paying double of what I pay for happy endings or short time fun. Sure the girls themself, would likely say, they prefer new time tourists, when being asked about it. Of course they are; they at the end try to make as much as possible and a lot of the long timers are actually super cheap, high demanding etc, in that perspective you are for sure 100% right.
  12. Some people are really clueless. Barely anyone will lose jobs, the jobs only change. That's happened ever since Google is a thing with Online work.
  13. Anyone need to file a TM30 unless the address remained the same, even then I always resubmit it to be sure.
  14. All the nonsense with heavy ass computers bla bla, if you just have good trading setups, it is really not about the 200 mili seconds. I run on a macbook air, a faster computer is pointless too as it would not improve the latency, you would need a remote computer back home or a virtual one in a datacenter to address that. A M1 macbook air, not even the latest version available, can already run 2 ultra wide monitors without any issues. No problem to run Windows or dual boot on that too, but doubt you even would want or need it, once being used to Mac. Even like software as ctrader is available for Mac nowadays too.
  15. Sounds like the OP is new in Thailand and already got Herpes, then calling it a good relationship since 11 months 5555555
  16. Sounds like the OP is an amateur; if even doing a threesome, take a short time hostel too
  17. The OP is ignorant enough to think he owns the land, which he don't, so the bank goes after all assets necessary, to pay back what she owes them. If what she has (like that house or other assets) aren't enough, you can be pretty much guaranteed sure that her land, that you think is your land, will be next. That is also the end of the story, there is nothing complex about this to understand. Even you might be allowed to still live there based on whatever, that would then be with the bank now as your new land owner.
  18. Wow ok then this is very interesting to try and get before they stop it again. Strange move too then, its harder for me to even obtain a non-o on child nowadays with money proof at embassies.
  19. I thought it requires 500K deposit as well? And assuming to want this visa, one stays over 180 days a year as well? That would effectively mean taxes for the visa money alone would cost around 27,500 baht? Still better than with the 800K for retirees, that is around 75,000 baht in taxes....
  20. You can download the immigration app in the app store, here you can do all your extensions, TM30, 90 day reporting, easily and hassle free as well see realtime tracking of your visa status. It's amazing.
  21. I can't really think of anything, I don't have issues with the world. Just many zombie people nowadays and governments that suck.
  22. Being surprised if things actually go as they were planned or should be going, as they usually mess things up. No matter a grab ride, airplanes flying in time, visa procedures etc. I essentially always expect a fk up to happen, to then have a rare good day if it doesn't happen.
  23. 1) Why? 2) Never have that unless it is a national park, where I never go anyway. 3) Nonsense.
  24. No they don't, they just fixed that, by making the visa easier. The exchange rates are fine too. Matter of time before you will see better results again in Thailand. I personally predict a crazy high season.
  25. Sounds like a bunch of whining oldies who made poor choices, and if not a poor choice, not seem to understand that a yearly visa with multi-entry, is still way more hassle free and comfortable, than doing 60 days on arrival. I see like zero arguments here at all. Own up your responsibility, nobody else will. Anyone with a bit sense in their brains would not recently have purchased an Elite visa or send 800K to Thailand, which would be taxed too in theory, assuming a 180+ day stay. Those who did: own it up or shut up. It's so cliche, these old guys who rarely contribute and live under a stone, have a lot of hate for younger succesful people. Same for those who now get an easier visa on arrival, which still isn't that great, it's just 15 days more than it was during covid. Last but not least, a marriage or retiree visa is kind of stable since decades, even 1-2 papers or rules changed. This 60 day visa, same as 45 days during covid, or the old school tourist visa options, can change at any given time again.
