They are just saying they will ignore this law and never have any interaction with an immigration office.

Tourist visa at Laos Thai embassy
Tourist visa doesn't mean much nowadays. It's a tourism entry same as visa exempt. If they think you're spending too long in Thailand as a tourist, a tourist visa won't save you the denied entry.

LTR Visa is Now available for Long Term Residency
I don't understand why you are harping on "first time." E-visa is e-visa, it will be the exact same EVERY time. There is absolutely nothing special about the first time. You will receive an entry stamp until your eligible stay date. It will either be 5 years from the date the visa is issued, or it will be until the expiration date of your passport, whichever is earlier. It's your responsibility to check your passport immediately after stepping away from the counter EVERY TIME, regardless of what visa you are entering on. Immigration officers are humans, and they make mistakes just like everyone. Catch it immediately at the airport and it's not a problem for them to fix it. Make sure you hand them both your passport and your printed out e-visa to help avoid mistakes, and also use the fast track line where available, as those officers are experienced with the LTR visa.

Traveling to Laos & applying for the O visa. So many questions & conflicting advice
1) Yes, you go to the embassy during their specified payment hours to make your payment. That's the only other thing you need to do for a non-O visa. 3) Official Thai documents from the amphur office should be accepted. MFA should only be involved for foreign documents 4) Only the embassy in Yangon has an appointment to make payment as far as I know. The 2 consulates in Laos do not require appointments to make payment. In fact the websites they used to use for appointments have been taken over by scammers. Recent reports are of a 2-3 day turnaround time from the day you make payment.

For People Who Need a Visa for Thailand, is it Possible to Enter on a Valid US Tourist Visa?
True for some countries, but not for Thailand. The ONLY thing Thailand looks at is the passport nation. That is what determines who needs a visa and who doesn't. Other visas to other countries have no effect on eligibility to enter Thailand.

Immigration is extending by a month the required time you're via money seasons
Nothing has changed. It's not 60 days for marriage visa, it's 2 months. The 4 months thing is a Bangkok Bank thing. Take it up with them if you have issues.

Can I leave the country while extension of my non O married is "Under consideration"
Some immigration offices add the under consideration period to the end of your current stamp, regardless of when you apply. In that case applying earlier just means a longer consideration period.

Change of address
Most immigration offices no longer require TM28 when moving, but some do. The TM30 is a legal requirement for all stays, and can generally be used as proof of moving as well. Your landlord would have to file that one for you.

Safest and Easiest Thailand Border Run Checkpoint in 2025 – Any Recommendations?
Safe entry is not needed for Ranong. They simply won't let you leave if they won't let you back in.

3 month marriage visa with 400K in US bank and not for 2 months?
Every Thai embasy in the world is now on the e-visa system, and they all require proof of funds for a non-O visa based on marriage. I believe most of the Thai embassies/consulates in the US only require your balance to be at the required amount for the most recent bank statement, even if they require multiple months of statements.

Re-entry permit for 90 day NON-O
You would not have a non-O after you entered, you'd be on your entry stamp then. And there should be no issue getting a re-entry permit if you want to leave during your 90 day permission to stay. Just make sure you get everything taken care of to facilitate your extension before you leave, such as opening a bank account if you don't already have one. That way you can meet the seasoning requirement of money in the bank for 2 months if you plan on extending. And also make sure you are back before your stamp expires so you can apply for said extension.

Thailand Tightens Grip on Ride-Hailing with Tough New Rules
Only once per day, so grandson can scan grandpa into the app before he starts his shift. Weird that driver doesn't look like the photo in the app...

Immediate Emergency Flight Home Experiences?
Skyscanner is not a booking website. They give you links to other booking websites. But it's usually best to book directly with airlines, and not through third party websites. If there are problems, missed connections, cancelled flights etc, you can only work with the company you used to book. If you book directly with the airline you can go to the counter at the airport and talk to the airline staff or call the airline directly, or use their app to try and rebook etc. But if you use a third party website, the airline will not talk to you, and will tell you to talk to the company you used to book your flight. Many of these companies will not assist you quickly.

can i apply for visa when i am in thailand ?
The VISA is not permission to stay. The visa determines how long your permission to stay will be when you do enter. The VISA is valid for 90 days from the date is issued. Once you enter Thailand, the visa is marked as USED. The visa is no longer valid at this point and anything related to the visa is no longer applicable. Any dates on the visa itself do not matter. So trying to do something before the non-O expires isn't relevant because there is no more non-O visa. It's done and gone. You now receive a stamp that is your permission to stay. This permission is granted based on the visa you had, and a non-O visa gives a 90-day permission to stay. The only date that matters anymore is the date on this permission to stay stamp. This is the date you would need to apply for the extension by, not the date that was on the visa.

Applying Non b visa best options
Laos is generally the fastest for any type of non-immigrant visa. Apply online, attend the embassy to pay, then get an interview in 1-3 days and get your visa immediately after interview.
-
Retirement visa
A bank account is not necessary to buy a condo. In fact you are only allowed to buy a condo with money sent from overseas with the specific reason of property purchase. It's actually easier to forego using a Thai bank account at all as part of a purchase.

Evisa Non Immigrant O based on Thai Child
Suggest avoiding Malaysia. They are very strict, request documents repeatedly, and take a long time to process. The only reports I see from Vietnam anymore these days are about DTV. Laos is very fast, as long as you do your part. As soon as you enter Laos, submit your application online through the e-visa system and include your Laos entry stamp from your passport. You can even pre-fill most of the application before you arrive in Laos and then as soon as you arrive, upload your entry stamp and submit. Go to the embassy to pay for your visa as soon as possible after submitting your application. They only allow this during certain hours, so check the embassy for verification. Wait to be contacted to schedule interview Attend interview and receive notification your visa is issued before you even arrive back to your hotel.

Immigration appointment 18th July 2025 for first retirement 1 year extension visa
And don't forget to bring a blue pen!
-
Immigration appointment 18th July 2025 for first retirement 1 year extension visa
In the future, it's always best to get the list of requirements directly from immigration before you will attend for the extension. For Bangkok that might be a bit arduous, but some of the offices do change requirements from time to time.

Timing of Initial Entry to Thailand on LTR Visa
Not credible in any way. Either show proof or get out. ALL visas are effective as of the date issued by the embassy. Especially now that all embassies are uniformly using the e-visa platform.
-
Timing of Initial Entry to Thailand on LTR Visa
ALL visas are effective the date of issue.
