Immigration problems with DTV?
I've had my LTR for almost 2 years now and still have issues sometimes with very long wait times while the officers process it. With the amount of flip-flopping and changes the government pushes on the immigration officers, I pity them. Not only do they have to navigate constantly changing and sometimes archaic rules and laws, they also have to deal with entitled people that think they shouldn't have to show certain requirements or even their visa in order to enter.

Visa run limits
Certainly not a risk I'd be willing to take right now given how many people are being pulled up at the airports and how many are being denied entry for not having a long-term visa.

How to open a Bank account in 2025?
Siam Legal is widely known to have long outdated information posted. They also own the incredibly misleading "Thaiembassy" website that's always rife with incorrect and outdated information. Siam Legal does not offer bank account opening services unless you are purchasing other services from them that requires a bank account, same as many other large agents in Bangkok.

Tm30 questions
You have to search for the entry you made within 7 days of making it. When you find it, there is a button to generate a pdf. After 7 days you can no longer find it through the search function, and would have to submit a new TM30.

Thailand Digital Arrival Card. TDAC
No reports of this being needed yet. It will likely be required in the future, at least your TDAC number, but as of now it's not required.

Residence Certificate for DLT - Mae Sai or Central immigration?
Sounds about right. I went in (to the Central mall office) and submitted all my documents and they gave me a sticky note with a date to return. I can't remember if it was 7 days but it wasn't long. When I came back I handed them the sticky note and they gave me the certificate. Both times was very quick, and I never even went to one of the counters. It was all done at the desk at the entrance door.

Tm30 questions
There is no approval for TM30. It's a database that you make entries into which are immediately recorded.

How to open a Bank account in 2025?
That rule changed in Bangkok last year. No requirement to complete a 90-day report first.

Medical Extension
Although it varies from province to province, medical extensions are generally very difficult to obtain. It's not that you don't want to fly, or feel you can't fly, it's that you must be physically unable to fly. If you can go to immigration to apply for an extension, you are well enough to be wheeled to your plane and fly out. Basically you have to be admitted into the hospital unable to leave your bed if you want a medical extension.

Thai Hotels Warn of Job Cuts Amid Proposed Wage Hike
I haven't had much luck doing that. Agoda is often cheaper than the hotel website (if they have one) and when I've contacted the hotel about booking directly for a price lower than Agoda, they said to just use Agoda if it's cheaper, as the price is the price.

Urgent help! Extension Almost Out – Best Way to Do Nong Khai-Laos Border Run With Agency
Either use a border bounce agency from Bangkok, or fly from Bangkok and return with a safe entry agency. Tod posted details of runs from Bangkok recently.

How to open a Bank account in 2025?
They just don't want to do it for you. If you get the yellow book, there will magically be a new requirement they forgot to tell you about last time you went in. On and on until you give up.

Is there a new TM.7, now that TDAC is operational....
I think it's only a matter of time. The BOI said you need the TDAC number for future dealings with them.

Retirement Visa/Overstay
Many ways. The biggest one is if they got an visa/extension outside of the normally allowed timeline. The stamps don't lie so if they got an extension earlier than 45 days it's obvious they used an agent. If they got the 90-day non-O visa and extension stamped in their passport at the same time, also obvious because that's impossible. Then there are certain provinces that are red flags, where agents take passports hundreds of km away to get the extensions.

Non o Visa Vientiane Laos.
Because the application asks for "proof of current location" and the embassy will expect you to upload your entry stamp from your passport that you received when you entered Laos. No entry stamp, no visa. Plus in Laos you have to pay in person and attend an interview so they can check that you are in Laos.

5 year multiple entry DTV visa (Destination Thailand) from 2024-xx-xx
No, immigration will not give you an extension. You will have to leave and return to get a new stamp.

Anutin Moved to Commerce Ministry as Pheu Thai Tightens Grip in Cabinet Reshuffle
There's not many qualified candidates left. The stupid rule that the only people that can be PM are the ones nominated at the time of the election makes no sense, but so many candidates have been disqualified and/or banned at this point, that if the current PM is done, the next in line based on party size would be Anutin.... The only other alternative is to dissolve the government and have new elections, but I'm not sure if that's possible if the PM is removed first, since it's the PM that can do that.

The dreaded 12 month Marriage Extension - Samut Prakan
I can't answer all the questions, especially because each immigration office is different. Every immigration office will accept an application for extension 30 days before your existing stamp expires, and some will accept it at 45 days. So around 45 days early, go to the immigration office and ask them for their handout for a marriage extension, so you can get the exact requirements for your office, and you can find out if you can apply soon or have to wait until 30 days. Agents don't work with marriage extensions because the local immigration offices cannot process them. They are all sent to regional HQ for approval. Your daughter should not be a factor as you are not applying for an extension based on supporting a child. If there is a visit, normally they would want both you and your spouse there. This is something they will plan ahead, it's not normally a surprise visit, as they want you both there and sometimes even a neighbor or two, or maybe juristic person if you're in a condo. I believe you can get your marriage certificate from any amphur.

Retirement extension via agent, change of bank.
A month ago might as well be 10 years ago with the way things are moving right now.

Second extension after applying for Non O
For an extension, there is no requirement to show that. That requirement only comes into play when applying to convert from tourist to 90 day non-O visa.

Mae Fah Luang airport bus
That's unfortunate. It was a good and cheap service, and it can be really hard to get a Grab or Bolt at the airport sometimes, at least at the rates stated in the app. I spent 30 minutes once going through multiple drivers on Bolt who each accepted my ride, then immediately said that the app price was not acceptable and I would need to pay more for them to actually pick me up.
