  1. If you apply for a tourist visa through the Thai embassy in New Zealand, it's $300 NZD. Almost 6000 baht or $170 USD. Not cheap at all. And that's just for single entry. The METV is $1000 NZD.
  2. As if any of them pay even 10% of what they actually owe.
  3. So basically, how to double the nation's debt overnight? Remove all those debts from the credit bureau so they can borrow again while leaving their existing loans in a different set of books. The ONLY reason to remove the debt from the credit bureau is to allow them to borrow again, which is exactly how they got into this mess.
  4. You're not cancelling a non-B. You are cancelling a work extension. You are not applying for a non-O, you are applying for a new extension based on marriage. Yes you should cancel your WP and your extension a few days ahead, with the paperwork from the employer. This paperwork should have a date of last work, and when they cancel your extension they will then stamp you in again to the date on the paperwork. You can do this 1-2 weeks ahead at most immigration offices, and that gives you time to apply for the new extension based on a different reason. A requirement of marriage extension is 400,000 baht in your bank account for 2 full months on the day of application, so hopefully you planned ahead and have that ready.
  5. No, because every immigration office is different, every employer is different for the BOI side, and everyone's circumstances are different. There is no such thing as a definitive answer when it comes to immigration. The only DEFINITIVE answer comes from YOUR immigration office that will process everything. Their word is final, even if someone else has done the exact same thing at the exact same office, it might not be the same this time.
  6. You're playing with fire. You don't have good chances coming back in any way on your own. 6 continuous months in Thailand, you are not a tourist. Use a border bounce agency or risk being denied entry and not being allowed back into Thailand.
  7. Most agents in Bangkok, including Thai Visa Centre, do not offer standalone bank account service. They only offer bank accounts if you are doing a visa or extension with them and the bank account is needed. Pattaya is where people can get bank accounts as a standalone service, but that's also the cause of the recent problems, since they were doing so many that it created an anomaly.
  8. Amazing that the fake passports and stamps magically appeared, since no one knows how they got there!
  9. I've seen many people mention it being enforced. Mostly at Chiang Khong.
  10. Not quite correct. The time you have to show that the funds came from overseas is when you are trying to convert from a tourist entry (tourist visa or visa exempt) into a non-O from within Thailand at an immigration office. The money to apply for the 1-year extension does not have the requirement to show that it came from overseas. It just needs to be in your account for the required amount of time. The only other time you have to show that money came from overseas is if you try to switch to the monthly transfers method in the future. Then each of your monthly transfers (40,000 or 65,000 baht) must be coded as an international transfer.
  11. The BOI was telling people there was a path in the past. No idea if they are still doing so.
  12. Especially since he has his own funds seasoned already!
  13. The government has the cash to dosh out 10,000 baht to everyone to buy votes, sorry, I meant to boost the economy. Followed by tons of social media posts about people throwing parties and blowing it all in a single weekend on beer. Yet they don't have the money to continue to pay out the paltry social security that they offer, which most of is likely actually going into the local economy for survival rather than to corporate monopolies that funnel all the money to the top 1%. But the government is doing exactly as their corporate and other overlords demand. Same around the world, so it's not really a surprise.
  14. You cannot change to a new visa, no. If you were on a work extension, you might be able to apply for a new extension for a different reason. If you were on an extension, check with your immigration office if they will allow you to apply for an extension based on being married to Thai. If so then ask them for the list of requirements so you can prepare everything. But a marriage to Thai extension requires you to have had 400,000 in a Thai bank account for 2 months at the time of application, so if you don't already have that setup and ready to go, you won't be able to apply and would have to leave Thailand and reset your status and start over.
  15. Shouldn't be any issue in using them for a visa application.
  16. Employees of BOI companies automatically get between 7-21 days to remain in Thailand after their work permit and work extension is cancelled.
  17. Instead of asking people here, you can just got to your immigration office and ask them for their handout of requirements to convert from visa exempt to non-o based on marriage. They will give it to you and you'll know EXACTLY what you need since each immigration office can be different.
  18. While it may be possible, is there a reason you don't just get the non-O visa online through the e-visa system before you go to Thailand? It'll save you 2 trips to immigration and a lot of wasted time.
  19. There are no entry auto-gates. Those are only for exiting Thailand.
  20. I hope and pray they don't do this one. It's already complicated and confusing enough for people with how often they flip-flop the number of days and list of countries. To have 3 separate lists of countries (VOA, Visa Exempt 30, and Visa Exempt 60) would make it exponentially worse! All or none! And leave the list of countries alone as well!
  21. It doesn't matter how tight-fisted or open they are with the funds. Anything needed over setting up the bare minimum application goes into brown envelopes for the bonus fund for higher level officials.
  22. Enjoy your drive into the immigration office when they reject your report and give the reason that you didn't apply within the window for that immigration office. Each immigration office sets their own policies and procedures, and each immigration office processes the online 90-day reports for their province. You can go argue it with them if you'd like, but I don't think you'll get very far.
  23. Thai Visa Centre offers services throughout all of Thailand, but unless you're in Bangkok you will have to mail your passport to them in order to get your visa/extension since that's where their operation is. They're a legit agent, you should able to find reviews online. Though you wrote "Thai Visa Center" which I don't know about. I only know about "Thai Visa Centre." so you might want to double check the spelling of the agency name to see if it's the known one or not.
  24. You overcomplicated it far more than necessary. You did not have 2 90-day reports. The new one you received from your extension was the only valid one. The date on that one was your next report date. The e-mail you received is nothing but a timer put into the online system, it has no idea that you already had a new superseding 90-day report. People that leave Thailand still get those e-mails because the system is not connected to anything.
