Crime British Teen Claims Torture in Thailand During Georgia Court Hearing
BexMan replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
I was rather surprised reading her list of excuses, that she didn’t claim she got pregnant because someone raped her. -

Seems like AI needs reprogramming. -
We are moving here in preference to Spain for the heat. With Raynaud’s disease we both find it harder to cope with the cold. So would rather cope with the heat in Thailand.

What restaurant was that? I think they are definitely worthy of custom. -
90 day Non Imm application in the UK
BexMan replied to hullmonkey1's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
That’s interesting, we stayed for 30 days in December 2024-Jan 2025. The landlord never provided us with a TM30 and I never knew about them until joining this forum. The accommodation is in Pattaya. -
90 day Non Imm application in the UK
BexMan replied to hullmonkey1's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Thanks, Jacks DrJacks follow up post clarifies the validity period of any issued Visa. It will be interesting to see how long it takes to get “approved” and if you have any unforeseen problems. -
90 day Non Imm application in the UK

Thanks for that. We are taking your advice from a previous thread and going to apply for E-Visas. You have made everything very clear. The only concern I have now is the” proof” of Thai address to open the bank account. We have a month booked through Booking.com, so not so sure a TM30 will be that easy. We only know the Condo building at this stage. -

Would you mind posting the result and any problems experienced once you get a reply? Interested in how long it takes to go through. Also I assume the Visa starts once you enter Thailand, so interested if you have a certain period of time before you need to have entered Thailand. We plan to apply for Visa and want to get the timings right. Good luck.🤞 -

10 Year Retirement Visa though an agent?
BexMan replied to BexMan's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Thanks for the reply. I just noticed this option when I was looking at LTR Visa’s as suggested from a previous thread. It doesn’t appear to be a Non O-X as that’s listed elsewhere. We can meet the financial criteria, but the heath insurance would be quite crippling. We intend to get health insurance to cover any of the real financial disasters. I was wondering if an agent like One Stop or Tik Tok could help there. However reading the criteria more closely, it appears we would need to apply outside of Thailand, so doubt anyone has successfully used a Thai agent/fixer. Thanks for the link too, looks very informative, I will read through the information more thoroughly. -
Aah, see it now. 🤦Thanks a lot for the heads up, I really appreciate it.

Having read the comments, I won’t be mentioning retirement. Neither of us have Thai bank accounts. We plan to live in Jomtien.

We have flights booked to Thailand for the end of August. We plan to apply for a retirement Visa through an agent after we arrive. Having read the problems encountered by the OP, it seems l we could be denied entry if we say to the IO we intend to retire in Thailand. They presumably could deny entry saying we should have applied for a retirement visa to enter. So it seems best that we just say we are here for a holiday?

Tourism Cambodia Outshines Thailand in Race for Chinese Tourists
BexMan replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Not sure where you got your tourism figures from, but the one’s Perplexity threw up are vastly different. 18-20% Pre Covid 2019, 7.24% in 2022 & 8.9% in 2024. A big ask, but if they could get back to Pre Covid levels, 18-20% is significant. -
Report Bangkok Cab Incident Sparks Debate on Passenger Rights
BexMan replied to snoop1130's topic in Bangkok News
No doubt the driver is wrong, but personally I wouldn’t feel comfortable making the driver sit in a Bangkok traffic jam for the amount of money they earn from the ride. Unlike the “hail” taxi’s they don’t charge more for sitting in traffic. They also have to pay a slice of the earnings to the app. If an app based driver gets caught in a long traffic jam I usually up the tip at the end to compensate. Some extra baht will mean a lot more to them, than me. -
I remember watching the Bill when it started. The one I really looked forward to every week though was Hill Street Blues. That show could make you laugh and almost cry in the same episode.

Crime Thai Transwoman Allegedly Assaults and Robs Indian Tourist in Pattaya
BexMan replied to snoop1130's topic in Pattaya News
I thought the police don’t usually give out the full name, but here it is in the report? Can’t imagine the Indian guy offered it up to to a reporter to be published in the newspaper? Then again, I suppose it’s possible, he may not be the shaping tool in the box from what’s been written and commented.
