  1. Not a great idea to switch cars in an area that has CCTV overlooking it.
  2. Not totally clear from the report, but the way I read it, the French guy who was stabbed while trying to be a peace maker. So I wouldn’t tar him with the same brush as the others. His injury behind the left ear also seems to suggest he was possibly stabbed from behind.
  3. When we were holidaying there, the people we spoke to definitely didn’t “want” communism.
  4. I suspect the acquisition of these missiles will be added to the case for a U.S. strike now. Maybe another misstep by the Iranian leadership?
  5. I wouldn’t really have a problem with drug dealers being eliminated, if it was only limited to Heroin dealers etc. Unfortunately too many innocent bystanders were also killed, just by being in the wrong place at the wrong time. This includes one case where a Child was killed on the back of a motorbike when police shot at the driver. There are plenty of other disturbing cases were Children were killed. Some of the killings were also just a case of old scores being settled. Acting on untrue information supplied by rivals, the Police had carte Blanche to carry out executions. In some cases, in collusion with, and paid by the informants. That’s the problem with the policy, no trail to prove a persons guilt, the Police acted as juror and executioner. Duterte didn’t care about the innocent people killed.
  6. Without knowing what was promised, we can’t be certain they are all greedy. Some could just be plain gullible.
  7. I don’t now if this proposed deal for USA security guarantee is any different to an earlier one? Under an earlier version Putin could stage a false flag operation and tell the USA Ukraine has violated the agreement attacking Russia. In those circumstances the USA would not be required to defend Ukraine. I wonder, would Trump want to spend USA money on defending Ukraine, or would he rather make trade deals with Russia. Also there was a similar guarantee when Ukraine gave up its nuclear weapons, which turned out not to be worth the paper it’s written on.
  8. There is a picture on his FB dated 3rd September, which looks like Thailand. It's a apartment with a private pool in front of the apartment overlooking the ocean. Begs the question why a coercing criminal gang would put him up in such a luxurious place for at least 7 weeks. More believable he was offered a holiday in return for carrying the drugs back.
  9. He is determined to win the Nobel peace prize.
  10. The Thai army would have no idea if these drones were carrying munitions, or what their mission was. So shooting down Cambodian Drones (if there were any) over Thai territory is a purely defensive action. Like shooting Chinese weathers balloons over the USA.
  11. If they are flying over Thai land I would have thought the army would have taken some pot shots at them and brought some down.
  12. That’s an interesting menu, the Spicy Frog salad certainly jumps out at you.
  13. RNLI The most effective free taxi service in the World.
  14. He could try MM Thai Visa Point in Jomtien. They have a contact in a Jomtien based branch of a bank who MAY be able to help.
  15. Even if the ruling doesn’t apply to Debit cards, surely a good lawyer could persuade a court debit Card holders are owed the same duty of care as Credit Card holders. It should set a precedent.
  16. The increased spending by NATO countries is one good thing that Trump has done for Europe.
  17. Someone in the thread asked about posting their experience of opening a bank account. We managed to open an account with Krungsri in Festival Central around 5 weeks ago. Initially we went there with Passport copies including our Non O visa stamp page up to November 2026, C O R, and lease. We gave her everything and she went and copied stuff, she never said we don’t need this or that form. Not that that necessarily means she didn’t need it. She then said we have to send it to head office, come back in 4 weeks. Then she gave us a date for 3 weeks to return. On our return 3 weeks later another clerk saw us and initially had trouble understanding that all our forms had been submitted. Eventually she grabbed a pile of at least 50 applications and found ours had been accepted. Took best part of an hour to do our paperwork and give us cards. We opened an additional account partly because I like to have cash in a plan B account in case they freeze one.
  18. Damn autocorrect, should have been Bucha, Bucharest.😳
  19. Putin has given so many “reasons” for the war. He also claimed he was invading Ukraine to de Nazify it and protect Russian citizens in Ukraine. Unfortunately for him he didn’t realise Zelensky was born into a Jewish family. All part of the Russian propaganda. Ukrainians have seen the cruelty of the Russian army and will never give up fighting for their freedom. They have seen first hand the methods of the Russians in the Bucharest massacre, to name just one of the thousands of atrocities they have committed. Laughingly Russian propaganda tried to pin that on the British. They have seen Ukrainian troops shot in the back after surrendering. Schools, nurseries, Hospitals and residential buildings purposely bombed. They have read about Ukrainian prisoners being blown up inside a Russian prison. Women raped, and killed along with Men and Children in occupied territories.. In occupied territories they have also seen Ukrainian pensions taken away, unless they apply for a Russian passport. The list of war atrocities goes on and on and on. It makes sick to my stomach that the Russians are trying to get an amnesty for war crimes as part of any peace settlement. No, Ukrainians are not going to surrender any time soon, may feel they might as well be dead as occupied by the murdering Russians.
  20. The owner is a British guy, who admires Trump. He also takes food out every Friday on the bike ride to feed the homeless. Been in there for a drink, its all very light hearted stuff.
  21. Last time his daughter visited him she said she was worried as he was so stressed. Looking at the photo, the move to a new prison has done him a power of good.
