Actually, no, I'm not wasting money. I've done the math. 1) For cash, superRich has basically the same exchange rate as wise. 2) My credit card has no fees, gives a good exchange rate plus 2-3% cash back on every purchase. That easily beats wise, so I put everything I can on my credit card. 3) My ATM card has no fees, a good exchange rate, and even refunds the Thai ATM fee. I think wise still gives a little better exchange rate, but not by much.

It's even more worthless if you aren't healthy, because they will exclude coverage for all pre-existing conditions.

I've been in Thailand most of the last 2 years with no Thai bank account. It's really not necessary to live here. I just use my US ATM cards, credit cards, and bring cash. Considering the hassle I read about, I'm glad I never tried to open an account here.

It's rather obvious it was not a hoax if you simply look at the total number of deaths from all causes during that time. In the US, for example, between March of 2020 and March of 2022, there were more than one million more deaths than expected compared to previous years. Something very bad obviously happened during that time. Either people died of covid, or they died of boredom because they were stuck at home watching Netflix. It's technically required, but why would I bother doing it? There is no consequence of not doing it if you never visit immigration. Many of us with DTVs simply don't do it.

I've had a DTV almost a year now. I've been in and out of the country 3 times and never had any question on entry. So far, I love the visa. It suits me perfectly because I leave the country a few times a year anyway. I never need to visit immigration or worry about extensions, 90 day reports, or TM30 that all the guys with other long term visas have to deal with.

As others have said, book direct with the airline's website. Be sure to choose a fare type that is changeable. There will probably be a significant fee for the change. Better to make your best guess at the probable return date and hope you don't need to change it. There is no reason to ever go to a travel agency anymore.

You are not understanding that you will very obviously never have an option to "exit" unless you give up your citizenship because most voters are older and have already paid 100s of thousands of dollars into it. They will simply cut back benefits a little. The thing is not broke, it just can't pay complete benefits in the future. If they cut back just a little, it can pay no problem.
