  1. Actually I know a couple of people who have done exactly that. One of them was a guy who sold up and went to live in the USA permanently, until he found 10 years later that he had a rare form of cancer and then returned to the UK, bought a flat and walked into a doctors surgery, signed up and got ongoing treatment for the cancer. They dont even ask in the NHS as the front line staff consider it their duty to treat people regardless.

Unfortunatly, for every one of those "sucess stories" there is (are) reports like these HERE And HERE

The web is closing in. We are a skint nation and therefore ANY cost saving methods will be tried.

I hope you arent of the opinion that the purse strings will magicially be opened to anyone upon their return. And dont just think i am talking only of NHS, either

If you are then would you like to buy a second hand bridge.....called Tower Bridge. I can sell it you cheap, good price for you

    Penkoprod

Just read them links and a I find it totally disgusting that people who have paid in all their working lives are denied treatment. There was a test case recently that basically found that just because you are living in the uk for less than 90 days a year you were still liable for tax if you hadn't completely severed all ties.

Ok fair enough but that means you can still be liable for uk tax but be refused hospital treatment ? <deleted> ?

The elderly couple in the article pay tax on their pension and having paid tax and NI for 50 years are denied free treatment ?

Can see why the west has crept in all these anti terrorism laws because they know that what they will have to do to balance the books (after bailing out the <deleted> banks) could easily escalate into massive civil unrest.

  2. Usual total lack of details on how he was caught, what was their evidence that lead them to this guy, whether he could not account for his whereabouts at times of murder etc... you know usual stuff to reassure the public that this is definitely the guy and a serial killer is not still out there.

As usual you are left wondering is he truly innocent or guilty ?

  3. Just turned 1 tap on and it cycles as before. Turned 1 tap on downstairs and 1 upstairs and the pump runs continuously.

So it seems to me that it is supposed to cycle .

  4. Thanks will try that in the morning.

Just 2 more questions.Somebody advised this

Ideally your pump should be fitted with an isolating valve on the inlet pipe to the pump and the outlet pipe leading to the house. Close both of these valves and drain the tank - replace the drain plug and then open the 2 valves, this gives you an air cushion in the tank. You might need to reprime the pump prior to start-up but this is done thru the priming port.

There is a isolating valve between the tank and pump but none between the pump and house ?

Also if I T around the pump as explained above will the pump only come on when the pressure from the water tank is not enough ?

  5. When i turn a tap on the pump operates for 5 secs then off then 5secs then on so on so on, is this ok ?

Our set up is mains to big blue tank on the floor - pump - house -nothing else. We rented the house next door but one and the water pressure was ok downstairs when the pump broke.

  6. Thanks

So when i run a tap the water pump should run continuously ? like I said before the pressure seems to be consistent even though the pump is cycling.

Also if I set it up as above the pump will only activate sometimes ? (the water tank is 5-6 ft tall).

  7. We had some work done and the builder left the water pump set up in such a way that when we have no electric we have no water. The water pressure was not that bad without the pump downstairs, so how do I set it up so it only pumps when the pressure is low and we still have water when the pump is off ?

behind me is the big blue water tank

    post-3823-1267067899_thumb.jpg

then it feeds straight into the pump and out then straight into the house.

1.What do I need to do and what parts do I need.

2.Also at the moment when water is being used the pump cycles on /off for 10 secs, is this normal ? the water pressure is always ok and constant.

  8. This situation raises a point I have often wondered . His family are being billed for his treatment, why ? When you admit or are admitted to a hospital here do they not make sure how much treatment you can afford and exactly where the money is coming from ?

I knew a guy here with very little money, with a wife and child, who was sick in a small town hospital (he could not afford the city hospital and refused to be transfered).I went to see him. Anyway his situation deteriorated and he was rushed by ambulance (about 50km) and had one night at the city hospital and died the next day.

His wife ended up with a hospital bill of 150000 baht to be paid before they released the body. Luckily an old friend of the deceased paid the bill, but otherwise the wife and child would have had no chance of paying the bill.

Also a UK friend of mine buried his father here after a emergency stay in hospital. When he informed the British embassy they asked whether all hospital bills had been paid, which they had. The embassy said this was very rare and in the majority of cases there are unpaid bills.

  9. One problem for the reds is that their demonstrators run away after their paid time or even before. So they want to pay the money AFTER.

But no one want to agree with payment after. All want the money BEFORE.

If you are under the impression that every Red is motivated by a payment (and post after post suggests this is indeed your view) then I suppose you are entitled to deceive yourself. But please don't insult the intelligence of the rest of us.

Of course they flaming well are, what on earth makes you think otherwise ?

  10. Desperately need help!

    My setup

    1. Main pc running XP pro connected with cable to a wireless router- Zyxel P-660HW-T1 v2 + usb canon mp258 printer/copier.

    2. Downstairs pc running on Vista ultimate 32bit connected to above router using a Zyxel usb wireless adapter.

Have set up a lan and each machine can see each other no problems.

    My problems are;

    1. the vista machine downstairs refuses to connect to my printer, it can see it, but refuses to connect/install.

    2. I can transfer files from the vista machine to the xp pc but cannot send anything from the xp pc to the vista pc it says file too deep or specified network name no longer available etc.It actually worked ok for a couple of days only. Also when sat at the vista pc I cannot view any files (i can see folders ) on the xp machine or drag any files over but can send files no problem.

The pc downstairs has a lot of spare memory and I want to send photos from upstairs to keep as backups on the other pc, so everything is working the opposite way I want it to at the moment.

The same with the printer in that the downstairs pc is the wifes daughters and she prints a lot of stuff for school so I want her to be able to do it from her pc rather than bothering me.

I have tried about 10 different fixes from googling and nothing has helped so far.

    Any help greatly appreciated.

  11. Good luck with that, it is something that is much needed here. My wifes sister has a down syndrome son who even without any education is not as stupid as people give him credit for. All he does is watch tv 24/7. With a decent education I think he would have been pretty normal.

He managed to run away 1 day to the big city (he likes pizza). He managed to board the train from the village and make it to Khon Kaen on his own. We had channel 7 round to interview the inlaws to appeal to anybody who might have seen him and luckly he was found by a Thai with a similar afflicted child and safely returned.

It is amusing to go out with him sometimes as he unknowingly gets away with treating officialdom not to seriously and because of his obvious condition gets away with it.

The main fear of the family is someone will not realise his condition one day and he ends up being seriously hurt. Anyway he is well looked after by the family who are good people and the fact the mother lives and works in Sweden (and sends money) helps as well. :)

  12. Good point above, in that you will be expected to marry your girlfriend soon now that you have been introduced to the family. I can see them now planning what to do with the sin sod :)

Seriously though if your in your 20s carry on travelling and enjoy yourself while your still young and in the meantime be careful you dont knock her up.
