  1. I just ordered Hanes Comfort Fit underwear from Amazon yesterday. No problem shipping to Thailand. I often order from Amazon, and they usually add on Import duties. BUT... for almost every order, I have had a refund of most of those fees (except for high-dollar electronics,) returned to my credit card without needing to apply for them. Amazon makes enough profit without needing to cheat its customers. I've never had a problem with them in 25 years, either with Amazon US or Amazon Japan.

  3. There is a large sign in front of you as you enter the hospital grounds. They continue right around to the rear of the buildings. Just follow the signs. There are parking guards every 50m too, directing you to the proper location.
  4. My mistake. It says between 9am-11am 'U.S. citizens and other foreign nationals who were born in 1956 or before OR are pregnant (more than 12 weeks).' Here is a copy of the alert: Health Alert: Walk-in Pfizer Vaccinations at McCormick Hospital in Chiang Mai on September 1 and 2 (August 27, 2021) Location: Chiang Mai On Wednesday, September 1 and Thursday, September 2, McCormick Hospital in Chiang Mai will provide Pfizer vaccinations on a walk-in basis to U.S. citizens and other foreign nationals who were born in 1956 or before OR are pregnant (more than 12 weeks). Vaccinations will be available between 09:00 and 11:00. According to the Chiang Mai Provincial Public Health Office, the vaccinations will only be provided to individuals who have not previously been vaccinated. U.S. citizens should bring their U.S. passport and their 13 digit registration number from the Wall of Chiang Mai system (which should begin with the digits “600”). If you have not already registered in the Wall of Chiang Mai system (https://www.cm-healthcare.net/CMCVR) and expatvac.consular.go.th then you should register immediately. 5. You are correct. Reading the alert more carefully, it says 'U.S. citizens and other foreign nationals who were born in 1956 or before OR are pregnant (more than 12 weeks).'
  6. Sept 1 and Sept 2, between 7am-11am Walk-ins, for Pfizer shots
  7. I just received notice from the US State Department advising that McCormick Hospital will be giving Pfizer vaccine to walk-ins on Sept 1 and 2nd between 9-11am, all ages. If you have not had any previous inoculations for Covid19 you are eligible.
  8. Please.... Can you explain this? You will get a vaccine passport at a different hospital than the one that administered your shots? Am I understanding this correctly? If so, can one go to any hospital to get the passport?
  9. No, I didn't ask for it, although it was what I was waiting for. When I received my notification (the day before my appointment,) it specifically said that I would be receiving Pfizer. When I got to McCormick, there were signs at every computer station saying that it would be Pfizer that was being given, and if we did not want it, to please cancel out appointment. Staff doing the appointment checks verifying that we did, in fact, have and appointment and not a walk-in, also specifically stated that we were to be given Pfizer, and if we wanted something other to please cancel. Just luck of the draw, I guess.
  10. Many people simply refuse to sign up for their shots, and then bitch about not getting them when they want them. Obviously, and with good reason, they are providing vaccines for those more at risk first; elderly and with pre-existing health care needs will be taken care of before the 30yr olds. I signed up with every local board that was available to me... and waited. Finally one came through and I was able to get my first shot of Pfizer last Friday at McCormick Hospital. They were very careful to screen out people who were trying to be walk-ins, requiring a copy of the appointment notification, then verifying passport number with sign-up registrations. The process was very smooth and efficient, and I was in and out in just over an hour, with most of that being the 30 minute requirement to sit and wait after the shot. I'll get a second shot of Pfizer in three weeks. Then hopefully, there will be a booster shot available in 6-8 months. You can still sign up. But if you are a youngster, be prepared to wait a bit longer while they take care of us Old Fogies first.
  11. While there are a lot of restaurants closed, there are plenty still open. I eat lunch every day in Chiang Mai restaurants, and have no difficulty finding a good one, in any ethnicity I prefer for the day.
  12. Tops-Chotana caters to a lot of the Japanese ex-pat crowd. They have more variety than Tops -Kad Suen Kaew.
