Yet another example of why a full face crash helmet is the only option. Might be hot and your hair gets messy. But at least your teeth, nose and jaw will be intact. I wonder if he will learn from this experience ? Doubtful.
No gloves either by the state of his hands..
Why I agree that Police should enforce the law. It is undoubtedly down to the individual to consider the consequences of an unprotected accident.
For myself I wouldn't ride anywhere without jeans, helmet, boots and gloves.
I don't need a law to enforce what should just be common sense..

It either hasn't sunk in yet or people on here are in denial?
The high price of cars (considered luxury) is to get the tax from people who either don't pay any or don't pay their fair share.
Nothing to do with labour costs or parts costs or, or ,or.
Anyone retired here not paying any tax should understand this.
As I've said before -
In the West - pay yearly income tax receive little for your expense
Thailand - Buy a luxury car - enjoy for a few years - Sell it and receive a "tax rebate"
NB. This is providing you don't pay income tax here or in your home country...

Standard answer from the anti-biker brigade. Get them off the road because we get annoyed in traffic jams as they can get through small spaces and we can't. I paid 750,000 or 4,000,000 for my car and have to sit and watch 'cheap' motorbikes manage to carry on moving.
It's not the bikes, it's the idiots riding them that are the problem.
Ask anyone in the UK or USA where a bike should be positioned on the road and almost all will say on the left of the lane. Totally wrong answer. It should be in the centre of the lane, ( as we call it, right down the diesel line ) paid road tax, paid insurance same as a car driver so perfectly entitled to be on the road.
Re here, I just don't understand the thinking behind the stay left, don't use the under/over pass..
Actually current thinking is a bike should be slightly off the center of the lane. So it can avoid the slippery section of oil/coolant drips etc. This dominant position is the new norm in the West. But mostly in Asia they are still following the motorcycles keep left rule that used to be the norm in the West.
As a biker that also drives a car. I have no favoritism for either. The common enemy on Thai roads is lack of proper training and lack of proper law enforcement for both bikers and car drivers.

I think they're more confused by parents obsessed with imposing artificial concepts of normality.
You're not really fooling me. That last statement was a coded way of suggesting representing minorities in media harms children. Typical intolerant poppycock.
No far from it. I have no issues with minorities on TV and in other media. One of the problems identified for minority kids is lack of decent role models. They need examples to look up to. What I'd like is more real/truthful representation.
Minority kids need to see more than just gangsta rappers, police chiefs and overly hip black guys in designer clothes in fake high end jobs.
Ticking off boxes and inserting a cookie cutter stereotype in to a situation regardless of it's believeability is wrong
White Guy - Check
Fat Guy - Check
Black Guy - Check
Lesbian - Check
Asian - Check
Just another form of positive discrimination.
As for "normality" that varies. I'm sure your normality is very different to mine.
But I'd expect if we were talking percentages my normal would be the norm.

it makes me puke when i see a pastel coloured 911
criminals who commit these kind of atrocities should be sentenced to years of hard labour and then prevented to procreate!
It's a tribute to the famous Porsche/Gulf racing colours !
Singer Porsche's are built to order so any colour you like is available

Just now, Jingthing said:Geez don't we hear enough white resentments whining on Fox News and the political topic threads here.
Give it a rest.
If you don't like it don't watch it.I don't. But what was once limited to certain biased show is becoming more and more widespread. The percentages just don't add up.
It just isn't real.
Modern life is being misrepresented. Unlikely characters are being invented and totally unrealistic situations created.
No wonder kids are confused.

PC mind washing...... Note also that most couples are mixed race. They all have gay friends or Overly precocious children. Neighbors are wealthy single moms and of course everybody's boss is a well to do black gentleman.. Not to mention the mayor, the chief of police and any visiting VIPs ( Don't white people ever get these jobs ?)
Yes I know we need to represent everybody.. But couldn't we at least do it in the % they appear in real life ?
Also why almost no Sikhs, Chinese, Japanese or Samoans ?

Can imagine the mama shops and noodle vendors already rubbing rubbing their hands.
Considering that most of the skilled ( in their eyes ) tradesmen ( no sniggering ! ) that I have had pass through my doors in the last 5 years weren't worth 300 hundred a day. Upping the minimum wage for factory workers and the semi skilled to 6 or 700 baht with be the death. Prices will have to rise and many will have to be laid off.
They simply aren't worth that sort of money.

Felt the same last year when my restored 02ti headed off into the sunset.
The reason 70's and 80's 911 prices are climbing is because a real 9112.7 RS from the early 70's is astronomically expensive now. Many standard 911's are being turned into RS replicas or being hunted by enthusiasts to restore.
Models from the 80's ( the last of the air-cooled 911's ) are being turned into resto-mods by companies like Singer.
Their beautiful carbon bodied, Cosworth tuned cars start at around US$300,000

42 rainy seasons ago i owned a 911. a few years later i changed to a 928. never could make up my mind which sound i preferred more. the earpiercing circular saw screech of the 911at 6500 or the backvibrating roar of the 928 at 4800 rpm.
Both great motors
Would sell one of my testicles for a 42 yr old 911 in Thailand.. a '75 Carrera would do nicely.

I have one. He comes three times a week. And has learned to say "hello" if greeted in English. 1500 baht a Month..
No electricity or servicing needed.

As stated this is Thailand you either buy the cars that are cheap, or you pay a lot more for something European, but whats the point of complaining, you are making that decision, no one is forcing you to buy an impractical open top car, or something with a 'german' badge.
second hand cars hold there price here, try buying any half decent second hand car for less than 100,000 baht, in the uk you can pick good older cars for 30,000 baht
Yes, still reasonable residuals here for the right car. I gave up worrying about the overseas price a long time ago.
Now I only worry about the affordability here. I'd love a C63s coupe but just can't stretch to 9.9mil baht.
If in the UK I'd love a Mclaren but couldn't afford the 170 K GBP price tag either..

Must admit I prefer a 6 or 8 cyl motor. But they all cross the CC, Emissions and HP tax barrier and thats when the 300% kicks in. Smallish powerful clean burning engines seem to solve the problem at the moment. Porsches new 2.0/2.5 litre turbo 4 is an example. Shame it doesn't sound like the a screaming flat 6 though

This might make a few liberals sit up and listen. Instead of kowtowing to ISIS/islam they now got to worry about the militant right..

Yeah, so if you're happy with a dink engine in a sports car you only have to pay double the price.
What's the point of a nice car with a dink mill?
How is a hand built 381hp turbo a "dink mill" ?
-
Despite the oft quoted 326% import tax on foreign built cars there are still some 'bargains' to be had. My German built car was only double the UK price :) Just have to look carefully at the emissions, engine size and HP output brackets.
Go for big emissions, big cc and big HP and get shafted royally..

Still laughing at anybody who thinks bargirls talk and sit because they like the customer.. hahahahah
Funnier still that guys go to bars for conversations with bargirls... Hahahaah
I go to bars to have conversations/drinks with my friends or to find a bargirl to service me. If she doesn't like me or want me that's a bonus.. After all why pay them to do something they enjoy ?

So now all the illegal businesses are being asked to contribute to fixing the waste problem. How about closing and demolishing said businesses ? End of waste problem :)

Sent from my iPhone using Thaivisa ConnectMe too. That way I can ensure a decent job and don't have to worry about them scratching my car with their dangling jewelry or belt buckles or worse burning through my paint with a rotary mop.
Glass coating at a reputable shop used to dealing with high end cars is one thing. Local car wash and polish for a few hundred baht is another. Too risky for me thanks.
