  1. I am looking for Food export companies in Thailand (and Asia).

We run a food wholesale company in Australia (looking at importing directly as we are turningover large quanities).

Pinapples (sliced, diced, crushed), Cocunut (fine, sliced) beetroot, mushrooms, oils, dried fruit, flavourings.

We currently sell over 500 different products so pretty much anything

    Thanks

  2. I am sure this has been asked many times.

How long is the whole process for an Australian?

    I know:

    Stat Dec from Embassy:

    Translation:

    Thai Gov't Approvaled:

    Marriage certifivcat at local centre:

I have heard you can do it all in 1 day, 2 days or it takes a week?

I am rarley in Thailand on week days this is why I am asking.

Has someonbe recently done this and if so any tips.

    Thank you

  3. what about saphan taksin bts stop? any good gyms with free weights there? anything near the river that is basically a full-service gym with free weights would be cool. maybe some of the hotels like Shangra La have a facility for non-guests? any experience, anyone?

There is a California Wow on SIlom at the Soi Convent intersection.

The Peninsula has a nice gym, but it is expensive for non-hotel guests.

Did you go to Clark Hatch - I work out there. Good clean gym with outdoor pool and cafe - They also have a cheap day time rate too.

  4. Sorry to ask - I am desperate to watch the Super rugby final this saturday - I know it's on Astro.

What bars in udon show live sports (it's not on true). I have google bars but few are online

Starts at 4:35pm - any help please

    Thanks

  5. I have a bad habit of never leaving the house with coins and return with whatever and put them in a large tin

What do you do with them????

Give them to charity....get it cashed at a bank (around the size of a full shoe box now with just 1 and 2 bahts coins)

    Boring subject sorry

  6. I workout at Clark Hatch in Thaniya it's not an in your face hard sell gym. Actually the reception knows most members and greets you by your name which is nice.

There is no hidden "Thai/Farand" prices. The gym is great, clean and witht he boxing area downstairs (which is popular) the gym is ideal (and attached to BTS Silom).

Nothing beats a good workout followed by a plunge in the pool sucking down a smoothie.

Have you been there? Have a great day and enjoy your fitness

  7. We are looking at buying a condo in Bangkok (central area near BTS or MRT).

I have been to 2 banks to discuss loans and have been told completely different things.

If it's in my name I will need 50% deposit. If both our names (my girl is Thai) we need 20% deposit. If it's in her name only she can only get a loan of 3 million baht.

Has anyone recently applied for a loan and what is the result?

Our combined income is just over 2 million baht a yr - we are not looking at anything huge - around 4 or 5 million.

Regarding deposit we only have about 500k as we just put money into another side business (not sure if this will be included when the banks look at our application.

Please no replies about whether buying is a good idea or not (we have been paying rent for 4 yrs and am sick of throwing money away) as we will be here for a least another 4 or 5 yrs.

    Thanks for any advice

  8. Clark Hatch gym in the Thaniya Building at Silom is well priced. The weights room is clean and has everything you need plus unlike many gyms it has a great outdoor (saltwater) pool, open cafe with free wifi, steam rooms and they are now building a boxing studio.

It's not a huge gym with crazy loud music either.

Go check it out - ask for Sandy.

  9. Min Thai salary is around Bt.6500 (low level) so the average has to be much higher.

    From the people I know:

    Thai DR - 70, 000

    Thai Teacher - 25 000

    Chef - 8/12 000

    Head chef - 60 - 90 000

    Marketting - 50 000

    PA for westerner company - 30 - 80 000 .

Here is something - What the average western salary in Thailand??
