  1. There is a new Gym that just opened in Silom. Spirit Muay Thai.

They have homestay and the gym is kitted out with all the newest, clean boxing gear, ring, pads, bags plus a weight/cardio room. You saty in a great clean room attacted to the gym plus its walking distance to BTS and Siloms cheeky areas

Why would your friend not be interested in the cardio side?

  2. Well it also depends on your budget , For me everlast and adidas produced the best gloves around :o .

Or you can even make your own brand of equipment and name it after yourself lol overall its the same quality Like Twins

I get most of my gear from behind National Stadium. Twins gear. I like Twin gloves and pick them up for Bt.1300

I haven't tried addias gloves but I read a review saying thay have these new "flash" ones with mesh palms. Much coller and dont smell ha. In Aust I used a lot of punch gear

  3. Crazy comment about the starbucks but you get that from fitcorp.

"Heck, take a look at the turnstile doors of your local Starbucks. If caffeine was the wonder fat-burner that it is claimed to be, everyone walking through there would be a cover model with ripped abs"

A have a double shot of black coffee before workouts as do most athletes, sportsman even ultra marathoners have coffee beans during races. I would also take it before fights.

  4. Plenty of places mate. Look at your budget. I would suggest to get away from tourist areas but do you want to train twice a day? If you are not used to that you will be pretty shanked and you wont get to see much of Thailand.

    Gym range from 6000 a month to 30 000++ a month.

Work out what YOU want from your trip (100% Fight training, fight traininga nd sight seeing, ladies, party and a little training)

I work fulltime so I only train every second day now and I only pay 4000 a month for 15 - 2hr sessiosn in the Heart of Bangkok

  5. Mate if you want to do it on the cheap head way up north, east, south or west or even in Bangkok but dont go to a flash "cashed up camp" there are thousands of camps out there and it wont matter if you are the only westerner and dont speak Thai.

The first time I went I spoke about 5 words. You will learn from demonstrations. they will show you what they want. it will be an awesome and should be cheap. You CAN get meals for 20-30bt but often you will go out for a better meal.

  6. Hi Michelle,

I think you might be able to get Vegimite in the food hall/market in the basement level of Paragon. You can get Coopers beer there (at certain hours).

It isn't quite Djs, but kind of similar.

Let me know when you do find it, as might be wanting some myself sometime.

You can get Veg but it's over priced. Villa and Tops.

What sort of things are you interested in. What business have you started?

There is planty to do in bangkok. Bike tours, klong trip, health and fitness, good bars and great food.

  7. Best bet for Price is Channel 7 Stadium at Mo Chit BTS (near Chutajuk market) It's Free!!!! and pretty good quality. Every Sunday and first Wednesday of the month (I think)

Lumphini is over priced but you can sit int he stands cheaper. Fans, Ol school feel I love it

Ratchadumnern Stadium has air con but is also pricey.

Go to Channel 7 or head out of town with the fighters from your gym. There is a army- charity fight night I am going to on Jan 31st near Ton buri

  8. My previous quotes

    Some right

Oscar doesn't fight often and with all his businesses I guess he would not train as hard either.

Pac Man to win (even thou I love the Golden Boy)

It's Manny's constant barrage of punches will take down Oscar.

WHO REALLY CARES, GREAT FIGHT TO WATCH

    Some almost right

Should be a great fight. Manny is almost 30 and Oscar close to 36. There will be a size difference 4 inches in height to the golden boy plus a few lbs. Oscar started his career at super featherweight and moved up through the years. Manny has been KO only twice (both in the 3rd round) so if Oscar can get him early I think he may go to sleep, past 5rds I will say Manny by decision

  9. Given a few recent threads on how to meet people in bangkok for western women, I thought it might be good to merge them into one, and start a useful list of tips and things to do.

Great idea to merge the thread.

You all starting meeting up yet?
