Thanks all,Your wife must be on a house paper some where in Thailand, perhaps her parents. You can use that address.
She is registered on her fathers house paper (in Lampang south of Chiang Mai about 11/2 hours away). If I want to purchase in my name using that address, do I also need to be registered on the same house paper, and is it a big deal to get registered?
I guess its possible to be placed on house paper but I have not tried even though my wife has her own house book for our house. I went to my embassy and obtained a letter stating my current Thailand address. I was then able to register a car without any problems or questions.
Another option that should work is you and wife go to local amphor office and request a letter stating you live at inlaws house. I did this when I obtained drivers license again without any problem.

It is an uncovered large and empty area. I would not like to use when it rains but if you choose it was 150 baht per day. The terminal parking on the other hand is 250 baht per day with easy access to the terminal.

If your married to a Thai go with your wife and her house book to local amphor and have them generate a letter stating you live at her address. I did this several years ago when I obtained drivers license and a year later for 5 years license.

I would think a will would take care of what you need.

Worth noting is that studies have shown that it's not the holding of a cellphone that is the issue, it's the focus on the talking. Ergo, using hands free, while making it slightly easier to drive, doesn't make you less likely to have higher reaction time while driving.
Does this mean we shouldn't be allowed to talk with a passenger in the car because it might also affect our concentration?

Roughly how many Km should I get out of the front tyres on a Soluna Vios, before they need replacing?
Thanks,
G
Most if not all tires have wear bars located in the grooves between the treads. When you get to these bars (2/32" remaining tread) you might consider replacing your tires. Thats what the wear bars are intended.

Hello. My friends and I are going to Bangkok this weekend, but just learned of the 6-month passport validity requirement.. thing is our passports are expiring in 4 months, and it's quite late to have our passports renewed. worse, we've already made arrangements for our travel from bangkok to phuket as well... Considering that we're only staying in thailand for four days, and a visa is effectively not required, is there a chance that we'd be allowed entry in thailand?
The airline may not even board you on the flight.
Once on a return from Austrailia to Bangkok the airline checkin person pointed out my passport only had 7 months left and had it been under 6 months they would only board me on flight back to the country that issued the passport.

maybe she right what do you think....
Do what you want but don't cave in when the tears start flowing. It would be better to show her where the door is if she doesn't like the current arrangement.

Well, I for one can understand why the Doctor needs a Deposit.
Suppose he orders the Implants and pays for them himself, then for some reason Kaye does not turn up for the operation?
He would never be able to find another "customer" in Thailand for such large Implants so he would have to take the loss himself.

AIS connections seems about normal at my location. Early morning 12-18KB/s download speed and as day progresses it slows down as network traffic increases.
Sometimes later in the day if connection is slow I disconnect then reconnect and its ok. Have not figured out why.
-
Sometimes I have to wait 10 mins before I can turn it back on otherwise the drive light comes on...then goes off...then the
computer sits there and does nothing. Same thing happens during a reboot.
Thanks for the suggestions, though.
This makes me think it is a hardware issue not software. You might get one of the hardware test programs and run for several hours and see what happens. From whats been said I would suspect the HDD is going south so you might download the test program from drive manufacturer.
I would certainly make a backup of any important data you have on the HDD just in case.

I think you need to spend in the 45-50k range if you want game machine that's good for the future.
I would go with the 8800GT graphics card or you will loose performance.
You should be able to find good motherboard in the 4-5k range if you don't need bluetooth or Wifi. They can be added later.
Don't go with monitor smaller than 20 inch wide screen and make sure response time is 5ms or less. A 20 inch WS has about the same vertical height as 4:3 17 inch LCD monitor so you have a point of reference. A 19 inch WS has the height of a 17 inch 4:3 CRT monitor.
I think you need to spend around 4k for good 550-600 watt power supply.

Hopefully he can find his way to Saraburi otherwise you might find another ride. I used a guy like that once and Bangkok traffic was to much for him and that was to the old airport. He ended up being lost after dropping me at the airport.
If you want to try: After you pass Saraburi on your way to Bangkok keep and eye out for Eastern Outer Ring Road (highway 9) signs. Will also see an airport sign at this point. Once you are on this road its 60-70 kms to airport and you need only follow the signs because its well marked.

The four hours spent traveling to and and from Pattaya could be better used by staying in Bangkok.

Taxi's and Limo's for trip direct to Phi Mai can be found at the airport or you can book with meet and greet service like http://www.julietaxi.com or by service offered by this web site.
I have taken meter taxi's to 30 kms north of Korat for 1800-2000 baht.
You have picked one of the worse times to travel by road in Thailand. Its Songkran holiday weekend so good look. Might have to pay a little bit more and expect very heavy traffic going north.
-
Why not take a look at Thai Airways Bangkok-New York. Its a direct flight.
-
If you can afford the cost take AOT Taxi/Limo located just as you exit from customs thru the glass wall. It will be more than mentioned above but with two children and luggage it will make life easier if your coming off a long flight.

Does anyone know if the room decor at Park Hotel on Sukhumvit Soi 7 has been updated in the last few years?
-
Is it safe to assume you have Vista display setting set to the native resolution of your monitor?
-
Family Mart stores.
-
I wouldn't worry about finding what you want. It may require shopping at several markets but you should be able to find everything you need if located in Bangkok.
-
Honey Hotel on Sukhumvit Soi 19 should meet your needs.
Sheraton is on opposite side of Sukhumvit from Soi 19.

What's this Acer thing ? I see a lot of them about but you also have Asus and other crap (or presumed crap) about.
I've had an Acer for 2+ years and been very happy with it during that time. Its been around the world several times and only gave me problems at the 2 year mark. Started having random power downs after one of my trips. Acer replaced the motherboard for 4k baht and its good as new.
ASUS has a good rep although I have never owned one myself.

I would say good price for the location.
In the age of digital camera's both stand alone and in phones why not have friend take a few pics and email or MMS to you.
