After I was bitten by a soi dog I had a meeting at Pattaya City Hall who are responsible, 3 people incl 1 dept head guy, they listened, were polite and generally feigned interest and did nothing, the dog is still there over a year later. Walking round the building it came across as full of people doing nothing shuffling paper, i doubt I'll ever waste time going back
the best officials name is "crossbow"
His helpers are named "arrows"
Put the logo of Pattaya police and the logo of City Hall on the "helpers"
Make mr Crossbow and his "helpers " work silently in the night and early mornings ( from 03:oo)
When finished ,hide mr Crossbow on the property of your most hated neighbor.
Then wait and be happy.
Good work.

Not sure that is fair. My call/visit to City Hall was entirely successful. No hint of a request for remuneration. But of course it helps if you speak to the right person in the first place.
I did and action was swift.
So I can say that in all of my interactions with City Hall they have solved or helped to solve the issue without any suggestion of payment.
are you bribed by City Hall to say this? lol

Well i am public now , after 17 years in Th,moved to Spain. The best move of my life.
No year-long heatwaves, floods, electric breaks , no neighbors burning plastic and playing loud music night and day,no street dogs, own my own house and land now.
Cheap living same as in Thailand.(10eu for a full menue and a bottle of wine )
Good schools for the children,no lunatic traffic and good roads.
I can go on for hours.
So when i read Thaivisa,i feel grateful i am far away from that now.
Buenos días

Off topic but interesting.
I read an article yesterday about Google, effectively blocking any content on YouTube about Bitcoin. That got my attention...
Seems it has been going on for a while. I wonder why Google don't want people viewing videos about Bitcoin ??
I am in Spain, no censoring here,
bitcoin up 32,0373% in 1 month.
But maybe - 30% next week ? It's gambling.

It was interesting to see how the different countries are taking different approaches to tackling this virus.
In Korea they are doing mass testing to try and catch the virus at an early stage. I read the other day that a Covid-19 test in Thailand can cost up to 13,000 Baht, so some people avoid being tested. Wouldn't it be a good idea for the government to give a large budget to the health authorities and make testing free for everyone?
there is no test material anymore. It takes months to produce test kids, and most labs making this .....are in China .(as is 98% of the medications we take)
The whole world has to order its medicine in China , US included.
That's why there is only a very limited stock at your farmacie .

Who's fingerprints were on the bullet? Should be pretty easy to find out. No thousands of dollars needed for this too.

there was no farang at all.
Student trying to take a selfy with his phone(or just stumbled over his downed pants ....), lost his balance (and his face ) and tumbled down the path and hurt himself.
As he could not blame himself......it was a white thing.....
And the wallet, fell out of his pants hanging down .......,was probably empty after buying a tripot?

at least with the same story running on multi threads...
one gets to have a second laugh ????????
the problem is not enough alcohol.
When a Thai drunk has enough alcohol ,he will not stop drinking until he
falls asleep. The problem arrises ,when his bottle is empty before he passes out .
He is still able to get in his car ......and do some stupid accident. His already ,more drunk and sleeping friends , did the right thing "drink til you drop"

Also, maybe she used the abandonment excuse.
Which is probably what she did prior to sale.
Should be an interesting case.

buying the house was a good choice...

Are you sure? I thought the wording there was a bit confusing. So you mean that after 2 years you need 1.6 mil and after 3 years, 2.4 etc? That seems a bit crazy for someone who is retired. I'm not retirement age yet but wouldn't want to have to do that
No,you need only to bring in 400 000 a year.
Plus some more trips to the bank and immigration to prove that the money is still in .

I suspect that English is not your first language, so it's not surprising you cannot understand the local version of English ..... but you are completely misunderstanding it. Nowhere does it say you have to bring in 800,000 every year ....one option is to bring in 65,000/month but if you are using money in the bank method then its 800k for 2 months prior and 3 months after your extension, and a minimum of 400k for the next 7 months when it starts all over again .....bring in 400k or more to get you up to the 800k level again.
yes, i was wrong.......it is not 800 000 but 400 000 thb to bring in every year.
Plus the extra trips to bank and immigration to prove you are a good boy.
Plus the need to be in the country to do all these trips.
Some people dont spend more than a few months a year in Thailand, because ,except for the few winter months , it is too hot for older people .
And again you are right, English is not my first language, that would be a big handicap .
English is only my 4th language , not perfect ,but i have not the limited vision of only 1 language, as most "first language" people.I'm sure you speak a lot af languages so i'm not ridiculing you .
Have a nice day.

Not as I understand it. You don't have to bring in an extra 800k every year, you just have to maintain that balance for purposes of visa.
wrong, read it more careful !

This is kinda silly. You wouldn't be arrested for overstay if your visa was still valid when you left. Immigration isn't going to check your bank account balance. LOL.

And for people who have a fixed deposit with 800000 bahts or more, how does it work ?
on the saving account, according to "and the remaining balance must be no less than THB 400,00 or; ", we must have always at least 400000 bahts ?
yes, and additional ,you will have to put in "fresh" money in every year (800 000 bht)
If you can't.......by by Thailand !
-
why bother about a driving license ?
Do as the Thais....tell the police you dont have one ....and pay 400 bht .
And keep on driving......

But, like other posters have said, you just have to put up with it I'm afraid.
Our noisy neighbour is quiet most of the morning.. but from around 3 pm till 9 pm... (sometimes midnight) he has the music on in his truck, with the base booming out, while he and his mates all sit about getting drunk..... and I mean every single day.. never with a break!!! How people don't get bored doing the same thing every day for years is crazy.
I have learnt to live with it. After all, at my last house there was much worse noise, so this is just annoying and irritating, rather than nearly giving me a nervous breakdown.
So they sleep from midnight untill 3 pm ????
ok, thats the time for you to open your boombox ( only 5000 bht) and prevent them to sleep . Wait untill they come to complain .........

you can ask a few questions to see if she really understands you.
If she answers " it is not your bussiness " or " up to you " or " why" on the question :" how much money do you need ".......than you are sure she does not understand you

Where do you fit in Thai social order? If you are you a Farang then you are lower than a convicted Thai child molestor on death row, even a rabbed dog in the street. Could have been a reincarnated Thai.
Then coelenterate worms of a latrine.
Then Africans and Indians.
“White privilege”
yes , very true ......unless you show some money......they will line up for you ......

let this be a lesson , dont complain about anything on this forum,
just praise the street dogs , the friendly people , the clean beaches, the good politicians ,the mild climat , the perfect builders, the perfect wives , ........and the smooth flowing save traffic .........if not , go back to your country !
