  1. High value tourists go to high value destinations which Thailand is not.

    Try:

Seychelles, Mauritius, Maldives, Hawaii, Florida, Cote D'azur, Monaco,

Bahamas, Barbados, St Lucia, St Vincent, Antigua, St Martin, Cayman Islands,

Los Cabos, Turks & Caicos Islands, Monserrat, Virgin Islands, Figi,

Half of these are "tax paradises" , considering the recent developments, they may come back to thailand (for holiday...)

  2. Why was the minibus driver going so slow - 80klm/h is virtually reverse for those suicide jockeys. w00t.gif

because he watched the photos, discussed them with the passengers, spoke on the other phone with mia noi and watched a movie while changing the radio station.

So he had to reduce speed from 160 to 80 because "Safety first"

But he was obeying the second minibusdriver rule: drive as close as possible to the vehicle in front, and if you have hands free, flash your headlights.

  3. Hi, recently I have hit a few potholes and so my 22" chrome wheels have a few dents and need to be repaired by a specialised shop.

I asked a few tyre shops in pattaya, but they say it can only be done in BKK, and they have no references.

Can anyone recommend a good workshop in Pattaya (or in BKK) ?

    Thanks,

    Michael

  4. Thanks for the replies, I will go for the 80% and destroy a couple of things, always wanted to know how it feels to destroy a washingmachine, flat screen and some walls using a hammer. Not scared for gangsters or cops as there will be no proof and I'm well connected with those.

So grown up of you. Good you have connections as you will need them.

No accepting everything will make the world better... Right. In my opinion it's basically stealing my money. But I guess this is Thailand so it's better to accept everything? Pfft..

weak & conservative old white guys who've forgotten that they have balls.

    pathetic.

many of whom then verbally attack the OP whose only error was thinking he'd get any decent advice from the 'On Golden Pond' crew.

OP points out he's connected & is prepared to accept the consequences of his actions.

OP is the victim of theft & naturally wants revenge for being ripped off.

ie. like a guy with actual testosterone & not a whimpering old lady.

sometime the psychological payoff is worth the risk - do many here remember when they actually stood their ground?

does he get any support or encouragement?

no, you guessed it, mostly just the 'consider yourself lucky' bleatings of elderly eunuchs.

if i ever need any beige 'turn the other cheek' waffle, i'll know where to look. bah.gif

Agree with everything you say , but the op is asking for advice, so what advice do you give him ?

  5. The cost of the framework for my house 80 sqm was:

stones, cement, posts, iron : 52.000 (used a lot of expensive iron)

roof : 81.000 ( used first quality wood)

    worker: 34.000 ( 4 men at 280 - 300 /man-day)

    That includes floors and ceiling.

I supervised the construction from start till finish - and it was necessary .

I doubt if your project can be done for 100.000, I would think more like 150.000 to be on the safe side.

    Good luck .

  6. Do you know skyscanner.com ? I always book my international flights via this one, the smartphone app.

I just see, here you get the Thai version, can choose English at the top, very good website to automatically get the cheapest flights available and book them within few minutes.

BTW I think the Android app works better then this webversion.

I checked skyscanner , selected language EN and currency THB , on the first result screen it shows price in THB, when I select a flight, the currency suddenly is in GBP which does not interest me at all as I want to pay in THB. Moreover, "additional airlines fees may apply" . So probably I wille not see the total price until I have filled in my name and other blabla. No thanks.

  7. I have the problem with both mouse and pad. The Activate a windows by hovering over it with the mouse was not checked , so I cheked it, just to see what happens, and the problem seems to be solved now !

    Thanks

  8. Hi, I bought a Dell inspiron a couple of months ago , and since last week I have this problem: when the cursor is moved over links or buttons, it starts them automatically without pressing the enter button. This is very annoying , like mails are sent before finishing etc. , just by accidentely moving the cursor over the send button. Is this a hardware or software problem, can I fix it myself ? If hardware , what service can I expect from Dell , all I could do is hand over the pc to the shop where I bought it , it should be still under warranty.
