When I apply for a retirement extension I simply visit the copy shop adjacent to the Immigrations office (there is one in Jomtien) and tell the person by the copy machine "Retirement extension," and they copy the necessary, and only the necessary, pages from my passport and bank book.

That is the best way to go. Just say "Retirement Visa", like everyone else does ,  if you say "annual renewal based upon retirement" they will probably not know what you mean.

  2. Hi, next time I have to renew the extension based on retirement I would like to use the combo method instead of the 800.000 bank deposit.
I have a UK passport , but income (pension) from Belgium . So the proof of income document is from the Belgian  Government, and in Dutch.
I am almost sure the UK embassy will not accept this document (even if translated) to issue the proof –of-income document for immigration.
I read the Austria embassy issues these documents for EU countries but not sure they would do in my case.
My immigration office is Jomtien (excellent service).
Would appreciate any help or suggestions, thanks .
  3. perhaps it would be easier if your A-B distance is 78.4 km and consumption is at 9.8L/100km. how many liters will you need? i can tell you won't need a calculator for that.

Very easy: 9.8L is an average, to stay on the safe side I would take 10l. same for the distance, could be 80km. So would need 8 l.

The cost is interesting to know , but says nothing about fuel consumption.

8l is 8l, if today it costs 200thb , next month maybe 300thb. It also depends on the area, the petrol station , price of crude oil etc.

  4. Second hand prices for a CBR250 have dropped a lot since the new 300 is out. You can buy a good one 3 to 4 years old in the price range 50 - 60K maybe even less if you dont need ABS. That is less than half the price of a new 300.

Personally I also would only buy from Farang , first owner and with service history.

  5. When they saw the Termignioni on my Ducati, they immediatly tested the sound : 107Db , too loud.

I said ok, i will put in the Db killers and come back, they said no : has to be the standard exhaust.

So I fitted the stock exhaust and went back, they just looked and approved without testing the sound again.

Maybe they are not that strict in KK , but if you can, try to include the original exhaust in the sale, just in case...
