Thai father in law had terminal lung cancer about 4 years ago and towards the end was in alot of pain. He was only given morphine in the last few days something I considered very cruel withholding of pain relief. Nobody should be allowed to suffer in such pain when there is a simple way to alleviate it to near zero.

"The Thai government is keen to fast-track the project...."
The Thai Govt Parliament first approved initial proposals of a HSR Network in October 2010. Fast tracking left the station years ago leaving a long haul the only alternative.

Why would anybody pay a police fine into a personal bank account? It doesn't make any sense.
And the police officer must be also mentally challenged. Receiving bribes per traceable bank transfers. What a glorious idea.
Because you get fined the full amount if you pay into an official account. If you agree to pay a reduced fine without receipt you're directed to the personal account. It's a way of saving some money.
Agree, the officer is a moron for involving his gik's account. Should have just asked for a cash handout as everyone knows what going on anyway.

Those horrid little Suzuki Celerio death traps are around 10k new... In Thailand
You'd rate a Celerio that highly?
Couldn't even drive one comfortably and I'm only 6ft. Build quality was appalling, even wifey turned her nose up at it so we went for the NETA V for the school run. It fulfills the task brilliantly, cutting the monthly fuel bill by 80% compared to the Triton we used to run.

Sounds like they aren't spending wisely. Very very easy to get 5 adult flights London to bkk for 2500 to 3000 not 5500.
Not direct at Songkran it isn't

My daughter and her own family love Thailand and went back to the UK last weekend after their fortnight here. Her husband told me that the entire trip, for two adults and three youngsters, has cost nearly £11,000! £5500 was for 5 economy flights. They are quite well off but if prices keep going up they will be seriously considering destinations other than Thailand.

If there was a low cost method provided to small rice growers to rid the ground of rice straw that inhibits ploughing for next crop they would most likely be willing to use it.
Wifeys friend doesn't burn her rice straw. She turns it into rice bales and sells it to increase her profit even more. I have no idea why other farmers don't do the same as the guys doing the baling will do it for free and then give you a price for each bale they take away.

We've got one in our village with a long hose so people can easily fill a big tank whilst it's still on the motorcycle. We stopped using it after seeing people give the local dogs a drink from the hose.

are you sure about that ? EU is worse
and I read, if you die, as UK citizen, nothing below 300.000 pounds is taxed for your heirs
in EU, they love to take 35-70% (max . between siblings)
EU is definitely not worse than the UK, most countries are ahead of the UK pension.

Appears everyone else is late to the party also, since H2 tech has been around for well over 25 yrs, and nobody seems to want to make use of it, for personal vehicles anyway. 4 countries using, but doubt if much is used for personal vehicles.
Hydrogen fueling stations are very expensive unfortunately.
I'd love to be able to generate my own hydrogen from solar/wind and use it to power my home and transport. Hopefully will happen one day.

Good work immigration
The border between Kanchanaburi and Burma is as porous as it gets, easy to cross. Before I went to extensions of stay I used to do border hops at Phu Nam Ron in Kan. A minibus used to bus us across the border to Burmese Immigration. A couple of times on the way back into Thailand people were being trafficked into Thailand as the bus was stopped short of the border and they disappeared into the jungle with a guide. I reported this to the Police in Thailand. Their response? "Nothing we can do, the Army control this border".

If that had happened to a child of mine I'd be paying somebody in their prison to make their pathetic lives miserable for as many days of that 21 years as possible.

Somebody may suspect that a person has offered somebody with connections to law enforcement a large sum of money to ask the Doctor to drop the charges in return for a share of the money. I couldn't possibly comment.

"Mae Fah Luang International Airport Director Somchanok Tiantiabrat clarified the issue in an interview with Matichon, saying there was a chance that the e-cigarettes would be snuck on board because their bodies are mainly made of plastic and could not be detected by the x-ray device."
Must be ancient machines if they're missing stuff like this. I worked in an airport 20 years ago and plastic items were visible on the machines. Great fun pulling passengers out of line for a bag search when sex toys were visible in their luggage.

Druggies who will sell the copper wire at the recycling plant to fund their habit.
A friend had his home broken into when he was on a trip back to Aus. All the wiring was pulled off the walls, as was all the visible plastic water pipe. Even the wooden staircase was dismantled for the wood and metal joining plates. Turns out it was the druggie in the house next door who sold all the recyclables for cash.

Rich UK tourists I would re-write this - or randy old men !!
The price of a return ticket - non stop - is now about £900. So could be £4500 for family of 5 prior to even setting foot here which can really detract you from coming
My daughter's family paid over £5000 for 5 EVA tickets for their fortnight in Thailand this month. Didn't stop them coming but the cost certainly made them consider alternatives.

Very clever use of insulting language. Considering that you are a guest in this country maybe you should consider keeping your stupid opinions to yourself.

You can get the increased amount as soon as you return. If you stay in the UK for 6 months or longer the increase becomes permanent.
