Ok, as I am reading this at 09.38 am today, and the news was published about 10 minutes ago. Hmm... the only conclusion is that someone has about 22 minutes to live, before getting crushed by cement.
The accident was reported by Thaiger yesterday. It appears as a cut'n'paste in Thaivisa today.

And therefore they don't need a loan.
Sometimes it pays to get a loan. A while ago the car I wanted was available on 0% interest. I tried to get a loan so I could leave the lump sum in the bank earning interest. 'Sorry don't lend to farang' despite long-term visa and pension well over immigration requirements. Cash it was and the bank missed out on some business.

Thailand doesn't seem to have resorted to murdering its opposition parties yet - they just lock them up and ban them (at the moment).
Bodies found weighed down with concrete in the Mekong suggest otherwise.

".....executives of Formula E will be scouting locations in Chiang Mai next week to ascertain the feasibility of holding the championship in Thailand"
A long way to go before the actual GP is held then. Methinks the PM has jumped the gun somewhat.

I think I know why this event isn't going ahead.

isnt keeping them fully charged and "every night" going to degrade your battery faster?
Current electric pick ups have VERY low range when loaded up, checkout Ford F150 lightning range when towing etc
Just had the battery tested at 31,000 kms and it's still at 100%.

Or maybe I miss some information but to experience never found a charging rate above 11kWh. So for a small city car (around 50kWh), it's 4h to get close to full charge from empty battery. Not appealing when you know that chargers can go up to 120kWh.
A 3 phased home charger can go to 7kWh (not sure about that, higher like 11 or 22 ?), single at best is around 3-4kWh (almost sure about that).
Interested in improving my knowlege so if something is wrong above, please correct me. I own an hybrid with a max charging rate of 3.6kWh so all charging stations are fine for me but always wondered if full EV could charge faster than an hybrid (due to the charger here in Thailand, not the car itself).
Next question is "will the grid hold when 30% of cars are electric ?"
Last June I sold my Triton and bought a Neta V. 3500 kms per month primarily for the school run was costing approx 8000 bht per month in the Triton. Cost for the NETA V has been between 1500 and 1700 bht using PEA off peak tariff. It gets charged up every night using the slow granny charger supplied by Neta. Really enjoying the EV experience so far and just waiting for a decent lectric pickup to appear in Thailand.

It is an ok inverter for the money, it is a cheap inverter from a known company.
The price diff between the 4.2KW/24V and the 6.2KW/48V is so small that you should buy the 6.2KW version.
Edit: The inverter can not export power to the grid.
Hi thanks for your reply. Exporting back to the grid is not a priority considering how low the rate is and how strict PEA is on the equipment used.

Unfamiliar with the brand, but if going that route, then I'd go with 48v, in case wanting to add a battery pack to the system later. 6.2kWh should suffice, for granny charger, plus running something else off it, when producing extra, if wanting.
Carport will need to support, panels & bits, (about 400kg) in addition to roofing. Twelve 540w panels would power it, needing about 40m² of roof, as most panels are about 2.6m² each (X 12 = 36m²)
Hi, thanks for the reply. How about the panels being the roof or is that a bad idea? I was thinking of just the posts with steel framework on which to attach the panels. Minor leaks between the panels don't worry me and they should be cooler with no roof tiles close below them.

Years ago in wifeys home town a new drinking fountain was installed in the main square after PWA declared the water fit for drinking. The local mayor took a few sips at the opening celebration and people queued up to fill their drinks bottles. After a few days the tap started leaking and the local soi dogs found a new place to ease their thirst. The tap has been long closed.
Our house is also connected to the same water supply and judging by the muck clogging up the filters on our water pipes I think I'll stick with buying bottled water.

There should be no need for negotiation of compensation with the operator if proper insurance was in place.

The numbers are frightening. Thirty baht a pill seems cheap to me. 180 million is a large number too.
Yes, 30 bht no wonder there's such a problem in Thailand. Police friend of ours said pills can be got for as little as 10 bht which indicates no supply problem at all.

The issue is probably similar to my experience where a Thai bloke smashes into the rear of my car and says " you stopped too quick" ( in an emergency braking situation), the problem escalates when I called the police, and they agreed with him
Did you have a dash cam? Essential here in Thailand.
I had a Thai driver suddenly stop and then reverse into the front of my car. Police took one look at the dashcam footage and told him to pay up which he did next day.
A friend of mine had a similar I incident as yours. Guy who rear-ended him says he stopped too quick as did the Police. My friends insurance were having none of it and insisted the other driver pay up as he was obviously driving too close to stop safely.

I don't have a source to confirm this, but I was told many years ago that if someone built a house on unused land and stayed there for 10 years with no eviction effort from the landlord, they would gain the rights to stay there (not full ownership, but living rights).
This usually happened with State Railroad land and it was very difficult to move then squatters when they wanted to use that land later.
Sounds about right. Wifey has a friend who owns some land and her friend allowed a cousin to build a small shack about 10 years ago. Well wifeys friend has hit financial problems and wants to sell the land. Cousin doesn't want to move. Wifeys friend took the cousin to court and the judge ruled the land belonged to wifeys friend but that the cousin can continue living there for another 5 years or until she moves out.

Would you put the EVSE (car charger) near the panels or near the house?
I would like the charger in the carport.
My thinking was to have the inverter in the carport, under the panels, so I can use the portable granny charger.
