  1. i'am intrested in getting my thai g/f of six years to the u/k a tourist visa could tell me how long it took and what kind of documentation is needed.

is it easier going through a reputable visa agent or going to the embassy direct

Satisfy these requirements with this documentation and submit to UK Visa Services . If you are lucky it'll take about 4 days.

Search this forum on the word 'visit' and 'tourist' and you'll find plenty of tips.

thanks Mahout have all the documents printed off , just one more thing do you know where i could get a format for the letter of introduction

  2. Hi scouser, thanks for that info. My g/f and I will have been in a relationship for 2 years come June. We can provide evidence of this as we have recently done so in order to obtain the recent succesful tourist visa. But we have not lived together for those two years. 6 months together at first followed by several visits. Is it vital for us to have lived together for those 2 years? or is maintaining a relationship in the way we do, considered? Thanks

    Guemlum

  3. i dont know what percent of farang are with former bar girls, but it has to be atleast 1/4, and probably closer to 1/2.

well to be strait up mate ,

you would never know, and your figures are assumption and mean nothing.

its like asking, " how long is a piece of string." ?

is it a quarter of an inch long or is it half.? :o:D

It would be way more than half. How many farang do you know have a non-bg wife?

Ask them how they met their wife. A classic line is that she was in a bar but she wasn't a bg. :D:D

    sorry about this begbie,

but i can honestly say that of all the farang that i know that have relationships with thai girls, not one is married or going out with an ex bar girl.

suppose it boils down to who one associates with. :D

    Or whos telling the truth.

telling the truth would be more apt i would think most of the people on this forum went to thailand in the first place to meet girls in some way shape or form

i have TGF ex BG 6yrs now both happy have house in patters and she has house and land in bung kan cant see how ex bar girl is any different to bank clerk ,maybe people get so used to telling porkies that they start to believe it themselves.

    dave,

you have told us many times before that your wife is an ex bargirl and im not passing any judgements whether this is a good thing or not , as i simply dont give a toss one way or the other.

you seem to be happy and thats all that matters, but to suggest that in every farang /thai relationship, the girl is ex bar is simply ludicrous and boardering on slander.

actually its an insult to all the thai women that hold down respectable jobs and are happily married to farang.

im sure some of our thai ladies on this forum would be highly offended when reading this thread so blanket statements are not warranted in this case.

    thank you very much. :bah:

a few people seem to think that my friends are all associating with ex bargirls and are being deceived,

but i certainly would not like to suggest that to them.

after meeting these girls i would be suprised if this is the case.

you may be wright, but you could also be wrong so another assumption is thrown up and unsubstantiated.

    1. never mentioned that tgf was ex bg before today

2 like i said before what planet did you just drop off

3 take off the rose coloured glasses and see the real world

  5. Yeah, probably troll :o

I've never given any money to my girlfriend nor she asked me for any. And usually I keep few thousand in my pockets or on my desk.. during 3 years I've never lost a single baht. Just sometimes if we order food we pay money we can find around - doesn't metter money is hers or mine. I explained to her I prefer to teach her something or pay money to finish some school (like tourist guide) then support her every month for beeing my gf. And it works.. she was working for 2 seasons as a guide and earned 5 times more than I paid for studies and then I had opportunity to give her job by myself. Then I give her % as a salary - because she does 70-80% of all job needed. And she is happy of that and never ask me for more.. and from time to time she takes me to restaurant and pays by herself.

And if not troll... dunno what to advise. My friend takes girls for 1 or 2 nights and he usually tells them he is a doctor, earns a lot of money, blablabla.. but then he never wanna pay at mornings.. he found the way to make them go. Usually he calls some friend, they order food and eat together - of course thai lady becomes hungry (and thai people has to eat RIGHT now) and she is too shy / polite to ask for some food. And they ignore her.. so after while she gives up and go home :D

But in this case one year together - it's not gonna work. But you can try to not give any money. 3000 THB for thai lady? 3 times per day noodles? No cosmetics? No hygiene stuff? You sure it's her only salary? Did you visit her in this "restaurant"? :D

bet he's really proud of himself eh

  9. Just a suggestion. I got outdoor furniture from Index and it's good. Got bed, sofas, chairs from Modernform and they are good.

Let me know where you find good "off the shelf" furniture or if you get it made and how it is.

Let me know too if you find an interior decorator. The one I got sucked into using 8 years ago was an idiot!

    Best of luck

there is a place on pattaya klang rd thai bali decor very nice well made furniture and will make to your requirments but take the bank manager with you

  10. It shows you have ordered what you asked for.

Saves arguments latter when the incorrect good are handed over

You just show them the receipt.

Its not rocket science, you know.

Okay guy, first, take a deep breath, now, I'm not sure you're going to be able to comprehend this. So read carefully, and try to concentrate. From reading some of your posts, you're thankful for things that are not rocket science or any intellectual challenge for that matter.

Having bought thousands of fast food meals, and NEVER needing a receipt, I question the necessity of requiring a receipt at a small fast food restaurant. I've had them get the order wrong a couple of times, to be sure, but never an argument. They just got it right the second time.

Now, I'm gonna slow down because this might be going too fast for you. Please read carefully. Everyone I have ever known has never made use of a receipt at a fast food restaurant.

I hope you appreciate that I'm trying to make this as easy to understand for you as possible. I understand that you can't comprehend rocket science, as you said. That's okay icecubes. It's okay. Many people don't. Having studied technology (solid state electronics to be specific) in university, I understand that there has to be many poeple like you who just can't comprehend it.

It's okay. It's okay. You can be hovering around average intelligence and still not comprehend these things. It's okay icecubes. It's okay. :o

solid state electronics whoooooooo but not street wise i suspect born with the preverbial silver spoon in gob come to africa my friend you wouldnt get down the plane steps before someone had the lamps out of your head GET A LIFE colledge boy is that the way you want to promote the good people of thailand

  11. does anybody know of a company or person who would furnish my bungalow in pattaya, have just bought it unfurnished and would like it tasetfully designed ,money would be a bit tight at the moment so would like to do one room at a time, also general up keep of house ie water electric cleaning etc where do i pay bills etc, sorry but been living the life of reilly for the past twelve years as an expat in africa wouldnt even know how to iron a shirt

You are going to have fun! But you are lucky that, in last few years, we have now got HomePro at Carrefour and HomeWorks and ModernForm, Index, etc, etc.

My advice would be to have a VERY good idea what you want before approaching anybody. Measure up your rooms, buy books and magazines to get ideas from, decide what would look good in each space. Go through the shops mentioned above and others. Perhaps you'll find that you don't need to hire someone to furnish and take a fee.

I used Euro Kitchen for the 2 kitchens I designed myself and put in at 2 condos. A place for everything and where I wanted it.

Good idea to do one room at a time.

I've seen some dreadful work but I guess you get what you pay for.

I know how it is having been expat for years. I had to learn to cook again! Get yourself a middle aged maid who somebody knows and who you will eventually trust to do your grocery shopping and pay utility bills. Don't get a pretty, young one - all they think about are boys and clothes and hair and makeup.

cheers will do dont think the girlfriend would let me hire a young one anyway.

have already tried index etc not realy my type of furniture smacks of ikea back at home 6 months and its destroyed
