Nothing to do with "fitting in", LOS has the infrastructure to teach basic road safety, but those who are supposed to teach road safety, haven't got a clue themselves. We have all witnessed it. Yet folk in LOS can operate a smartphone to get it to work, though it takes time, but not a bike or car/truck..........🤭 In your last sentence, you should provide evidence for that claim, maybe true, maybe not.....😉

A couple of years back a friend died, his pension was paid for months more, his wife showed me the letters regarding paying the overpayment back. It was about 2000+ quid.... I told her the overpayments are nothing to do with you, you have no knowledge of his financial stuff. Ignore it, think one more letter, then nothing. 🤗 Though, it proves they have a department dealing with lost taxpayers money...🤔 So if you are still alive......Hmmmmm............🤭

........and witnessed, signed and dated by a witness in your presence stating what evidence they are witnessing if sent by post. They do nothing by email except send you a Life Cert if requested. Few weeks back I told them about an address spelling mistake and change of phone number, had an email back saying must do by post or talk on the phone/skype, of course using that method they know exactly where you are.. So I downloaded a form, got it witnessed and sent it off, about 10 days later I had a message on my phone saying.... "We have processed your Life Certificate. You do not need to contact us"..

If you move to any country that does not have social security agreement your pension is locked. There are veterans that moved to Canada, and get a few pounds pension..😥..I read where one bloke gets 45 quid a week.......🥴

Correct, but the fine stands. My friend who was caught, fews years back now, but his pension dropped to what it was in 2009, the date they said he left. He was not fined, but he got the bill to pay back, which he did. The other bloke I know was fined, and his pension dropped to what he should have got when he left. He went back to the UK, he was a friend of the chap above. A member of staff here has his own story, chap got caught, and his daughter in the UK was involved in the repercussions as she was his "middleman"..😱

I bet in the USA a vast number of those hats are being discretely put in the trash......................🤭

But, if you get caught they reduce your pension to what the amount should have been when they say you left, my friend had to pay the over payments back. What happens if you have no money, dunno...But fore sure, if they have the evidence, you will not still get the pension of the day.. UK revenue, has fines, caught fiddling the pension is/was 1000 quid. Late tax return, 100 quid. 😢

I know one bloke who paid the 1000 quid fine and whatever else, never went to court because DWP had the evidence. My own friend got away with the 1000quid fine by a hospital letter stating he had had brain surgery, which was true, his sister did his paperwork in the UK, because he couldn't, nobody knew about the locked pension like me, they thought they just got it......But he still had to pay the overpayment back, and his pension reduced to the time he left for LOS.........😥

Actually, when I moved here I had no idea my FUTURE state pension would be locked, even my accountant didn't mention it, so it seems not many did at the time. I retired 8 years early, so only came to my attention later on reading on here, so don't jump to conclusions ol' chum, eh......😉

Sunbeam, there are many countries we could ALL move to and get a full pension and ALL get paid the full pension, so the UK Gov hasn't got the money is nonsense. Plus, the UK Gov can soon find the money for cruise missiles at a 1,000,000 quid a pop, when it wants too...🤗

My chums pension was reduced to what it should have been at the time THEY said he left the UK.... He had to paid back the overpayments..........😥
