  1. My visits to CM Immigration started in Jan 1990 when I asked what I needed to do to stay in Thailand, married to a Thai national. There was only 1 guy behind the desk in the old building on the left. He had to telephone Bangkok for guidance, and told me to apply for a 1 year extension. I filled in the form, gave him my passport and marriage certificate, he stamped the passport, and returned it with notice to return in 2 weeks. I returned every 2 weeks for about 3 months before getting the extension. I returned every month for the 90 day report and signed the book, sometimes the officer would say he couldn't find the book and to just come again next month. The first new building appeared years later, but it was easy to visit until the early 2st century. Then it got full, and I switched to a Retirement Visa. It got really bad when they switched to the Promenada, then Big Joke appeared, and the 2nd new building arrived. Since then it's been ok as long as you have the time.
  2. I ordered s beer at a popular restaurant in Chiang Mai recently outside permitted hours I was told "Sorry Sir, no alcohol sales at this time, but we have wine"
  3. In 1990 I applied for a one year extension for reason of marriage at Chiang Mai. The IO had to phone Bangkok to find out what to do. The application was sent for processing in Bangkok, and then I had to return every 2 weeks (not 1 month as now). It took 5 months to process. Then in 1991 I applied for a new extension, and that one took a whole year without a result, then they just told me to apply again, and I needed a new passport.
  4. Payment is in Pounds Sterling, and is deducted in the UK, so make sure the credit/debit card you use is authorised for foreign use.
  5. I just completed this quiz. My Score 0/100 My Time 57 seconds
  6. I got my new passport in February via VFS. For address verification, I got a residence certificate from CM Immigration and a translation into English from the ABC Visa Agency. For photos I used the local photo shop in my village. Submitted 3 appointment times. They were very helpful in the office, and I got my new passport in 3 weeks. Did my first 90 day in person at CM Immigration with no problems.
  7. I transferred funds from the UK into a Bangkok Bank account today. They were deposited in my Thai account 30 seconds later, as usual.
  8. I tried using Gmail to login. I was asked for my phone number, I entered it and, like somebody above, I got the reply that the number was already in use.
  9. I rarely use Lazada, but I tried to login a few days ago. The password has to be at least 8 characters now, and mine is 7. I tried the suggestion above from kbb and it worked, so I tried to change my password to conform with the new requirements. I got to the required page, but I had to confirm the old password before entering the new one, and it refused to accept the old password because it was less than 8 characters. So where do I go from here.
  10. Thanks for the info. I realise that it's a guessing game as to what documents they actually require at any particular visit, so try to take copies of everything, just in case.
  11. I need to get my stamps transferred. Do CM Immigration do this all day, just mornings, or just afternoons.
  12. When I last got one, I had the option of Thai or English, does anyone know if this option is still available.

  14. I prefer this guy - Didier Drogba Drogba's parting gift to Chelsea (2012).mp4
  15. I thought the online applications needed human approvals. I submitted my application on Sunday 11th at 22:30. I received the approval and new reporting date on Monday 12th at 2:35 am. Overtime at Chiang Mai ?
