  1. Try Q Time Service

    02 663 4636

    02 663 4549

It seems that this company (Sukhumvit area) works with the repair shops at The Mall.

When eveybody was telling us it was too expensive to fix or impossible to find the parts, they were able to fix my watch by changing the circuit...

  2. In one of your thread you mentioned sukhumvit 24 next to Emporium. I saw a place being renovated just next to the entrance of Emporium... is that yours?

Try to catch one of the pick-up trucks delivering ice to Emporium or mini-marts and restaurants in the area (usually twice a day). These small businesses have filters and fill bottles of water themselves but they buy bags of ice from larger factories, so I don't think you have to worry about the quality...

    Have you found your cakes?

  3. I'm interested in contacting people here in Thailand (or abroad; the UK, Germany, Australia, Japan, etc.) who work in the metal stamping business.  Any category would be fine; automotive, computer, appliance, etc.  I design just about anything, but specialize in progressive tools.

I'm also looking for resources such as manufacturer listings, preferrably those with detailed listings providing capabilities, market type, contact info, etc., from any of these countries.

    Search kompass.com

Regarding Thai companies, you can find a lot of stuff in English at the library of the DEP (department of export promotion) on Rachadapisek Road in BKK. You might also find a steel association in Thailand...

  4. Finally, I could e-mail a link to any friends and family back home who want to keep abreast of whats going on in my life. That said, I've been so bad at keeping in touch that I rarely get any e-mails any more so interest has probably waned considerably.

Is that a good idea? Knowing life in Thailand, people on this forum will understand what you are going through but by telling your family and friends back home to visit this forum you become vulnerable to criticism or gossip, and your story might cause some of them to worry about you...

You could make a shorter version by posting on a site like opendiary.com (there is a free section) and people back home will even be able to leave you some notes...

  5. I wouldn't be surprised to learn he made his Thai partner lose face by criticizing him on his - I quote - lack of business acumen...

Quote: "The one underlying fear in doing business as a ‘farang’ (foreigner) in this country is that at the end of the day, unless proper precautions are taken-and none were- we have no rights."

I guess it means: 4 years on the island without opening a company and working illegally in Thailand...

This farang wants us to believe he is a victim... I don't think so...

  6. Agree with the dr. No reason whatsoever.

We have done all our paperworks with an international marriage certificate, sometimes with and sometimes without a certified translation. On her Thai ID and Passport my lovely wife is still a Ms.

I confirm. From experience, no need of a marriage in Thailand and she can keep her name on her IDs.

To some of the members, stop confusing people by guessing the answer!

  7. I've googled it...with no luck...I've called the number noone can help.

I'm surprised you called and didn't get the answer... Next question: ask them if it's Sukhapiban 3 Road...

Ramkhamheang Rd has Soi numbers and it's missing here... This address is perhaps on Sukhapiban 3 Road (extension of Ramkhamheang starting in the Bangkapi area and going east to Minburi, Nong Chok, etc) because some people still use the name Ramkhamheang instead of Sukhapiban 3 Road in that area...

Regarding the address mentioned above: Vegeta Ramkhamheang Restaurant, 33/29 Moo 3 Ramkhamheang Rd, Lemon Farm (health store) (opposite Samagone village) tel: 372-2175:

"Lemon Farm" is now called "Golden Place" and is opposite SAMAKORN Village (Moo Ban SAMAKORN; well known in the area).

If I'm right, your address is 33/29 Moo 3, Sukhapiban 3 Road. It's enough for a taxi driver to find it if it's really around Moo Ban SAMAKORN. It's 10 minutes driving from the Ramkhamheang/Srinakarin intersection.

  8. I lived in an old house where 200 years ago a guy slaughtered his wife.

One night, the head of my bed moved up two times (one inch). I'm a sceptic and I'm not a real believer in ghosts (or spirits or whatever we call them...) but that experience made me think.....

The landlady lived in the apartment where the murder took place, and I regret I never asked her if she had noticed anything special in the house...

  9. Last year I walked the ground where the World Trade Center once stood. As a former bad mother######er who for the past thirty years has tried to follow the teachings of the Lord Buddha, I thought I was mentally and emotionally and spiritually prepared for anything this world could dish out, but nothing could have prepared me for that. I don't regret it ... it was something I had to do ... but I can never do it again in this lifetime.

    What did you experienced?

  10. Secondly, if the US was serious about keeping Thais out of the USA that had overstayed their legal visas, the BCIS would place an exit stamp in their passports when they leave, like every other country in the world.  (Which the BCIS consistantly does not)

I remember the US immigration were not checking passports when you were leaving the country (only the airline was doing it), is it still the same?

  11. Beer, soda and polystyrene boxes at Makro.

If you prefer to have the beer delivered, as you are in the Sukhumvit area, ask people around the Klongtoy market and you'll find wholesalers.

For soda, you can also call Coca Cola by example, they'll even give you a fridge (it depends how your place looks... same thing for Nestle ice-cream, etc...). An idea about Nestle: note they can also give large containers of ice-cream if you want to serve with a scoop... Be sure your place looks good before calling these big companies...

Cookies: Check with the restaurant Lino on Sukhumvit 31 if they can sell you wholesale (02 259 9138), good Italian cookies, Tiramisu, etc... perfect for coffee and at least you'll have something different...

Where are you planning to open your café?
