I am thinking of moving to Thailand and would like to ask if there are any employment agencies or similar organisations that would be able to assist me in looking for suitable employment.
Failing this does anyone know of a good publication that would advertise positions for farangs, maybe the Bagkok Post wouuld be a good start.
I am a UK resident however my wife is Thai so not a problem with the visa.
Thanks all.

AUA if I remember correctly.Or any other school that teaches Italian in Bangkok? -
Useless! It takes less than a minute to remove it!Get a physical steering wheel lock (pain in the neck to put it on and off all the time) -
My farang/Thai friends took their 12 year-old daughter to a small city north of London. She didn't know a word of English and started school right away. She cried every night for six months. Sitting in class and trying to understand was a difficult experience.
I saw her 3 years later. Less shy... baggy pants... a perfect English... She doesn't like the cold weather but she really likes England and loves her independence. Unlike Bangkok, she doesn't need to ask her parents for a ride to visit her friends, she just walks in that small city... I asked her where she would like to live in the future... England comes first.

I thought the powder my mother-in-law was using in these cups was some kind of poison... the powder is scented talcum (baby powder)! It seems that spreading some around their point of entry also works...Have you ever seen some house has a table with 4 small bowl with water under the table to keep ants away from the food on the table too. -

Sukhumvit between soi 26 and 28; five minutes walking from Emporium. Better organized than the others. They have French and other languages.

Central General Hospital in Laksi. Tel: 02 552 8777
Fillings, root canals, crowns... Dr. Thantip. A lady in her forties; fluent English.
Slow injections, almost no pain. Ask if she is available, she will take you on the phone and get you a price. A clean and modern hospital and certainly cheaper than downtown.

I've always enjoyed reading your stories; they are entertaining.
We learn to think and do things differently in Thailand, it will help you find your way...

For ordinary reading lenses, my wife usually goes back one hour later and they are ready. How long does it take to get your glasses ready? If you came in the morning, chose the frame and lenses, would the glasses be ready in the afternoon? For my progressive lenses, around 4 days; it seems that shops don't have the equipment to do it, they are made elsewhere.
If you are in Bangkok, I recommend one optician in the Amarin Plaza: http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=12275&hl= (read the whole thread)

Some countries require your personal mark stamped on silver (or gold...). Because of that, check with your customs first because if you don't declare and get caught, you might never get it back...Hi everybodyAnyone know if there are laws regulating the export of silver in small amount? Do you have to declare it at the costoms when leaving Thailand? What happens if they "catch" you leaving Thailand or entering a European country with more then "unresonable-amount-of-silver-for-the-big-family"?
Thank's for your time
