  1. Well, tail tidy's enhance the aesthetics of the bike and reduce weight. I'd go as far as to say that massive piece of black plastic hanging out further than the back wheel ruins the look of many bikes. Also, I doubt that having a massive, heavy sail at the back of the bike does much for the aerodynamics (I've never seen a MotoGP bike running one). Aftermarket exhausts also save weight, look better, make a nicer sound (if it's a decent exhaust - the Termignoni twin pipes on my Panigale sounds incredible under full load) and can also increase power although an ECU remap may be required to get the full benefit of this. I also take immense pleasure removing anything that the Fun Nazis at the EU attempts to mandate ????. All of this applies to proper motorbikes by the way. I wouldn't do it to a moped.
  2. They need to open things up for people who are already here first. So that protocols can be put in place and understood, practiced and tested. To go from the current situation (night time curfews, entertainment closed, shops boarded up, alcohol bans etc.) to welcoming tourists and opening up the industry in 50 days is ridiculous, but typical of the clowns that stole power 7 years ago. They don't seem to realize that these businesses can't just flip a switch and unlock the doors and go back into business overnight. Why not start now, open up to locals and expats and let them gradually build their businesses back to some sense of normality before opening up to tourists? It's not like the tourist places would suddenly be packed anyway. Because <<drumroll>> there are no tourists and won't be many for months to come even when they do open up.
  3. Troll post. But to answer. Once I stopped laughing I would tell her it was a commendable effort but that she'd have to come up with a less ridiculous scenario if she expects me to fall for such a wind up.
  4. I normally self insure but I thought it was fairly likely I would get Covid within 12 months so I took out a policy for 1000 Baht with 200,000 Baht payment if I tested positive. They sent me a cover note and promised the full policy documents within 15 days. That was in April. I've emailed them about 10 times since asking for the policy documents. No reply to my emails. Girlfriend calls them multiple times and it goes to answering machine for 30 minutes until she gives up. If this is what Thai Covid insurance is worth, don't bother.
  5. Par for the course. I've come to expect nothing more from this fool and his posse of criminals.???? It's 50 days until 1st December so plenty of time for multiple changes/reversals/contradictions before then.
  6. Chan O Cha is a day late and a dollar short - again. Many were hoping that the big announcement would be him stepping down after over 7 years of ruining the country. Instead, we get a lacklustre, ambiguous statement that will do little to help the millions of people out of work. Lame.
  7. I don't see it as that suspicious. In the re-enactment it seems he grabbed the arm that held the gun and forced him to the ground. If that part is true then it's quite possible he could have kneed, punched or kicked him enough to rupture his liver (the cause of death) without picking up any serious injuries. Maybe bruised knuckles if he used his fists but kicking/stamping would be the obvious choice. The Thai could have landed punches without damaging the Swede. I've been punched pretty hard in the side of the head/neck and whilst it hurt, it didn't leave a mark.
  8. Must be great tucking into a sausage as a massive turd floats past your knees.
  9. In which case, you'd deserve the same fate as this idiot. If you go to a man's house to bang his wife, and take a loaded gun with you then you deserve everything you get. In my opinion the Thai guy went there to intimidate (or worse) the Swiss guy - I also suspect he was saying Maa Nee not Money - and then bang his missus. Subsequently he got his <deleted> handed to him. I believe the Thai expression for cases like this is Som Nam Naa. Another apt expression might be - if you're gonna be stupid, you'd better be tough. Obviously his trash family are now trying to make a load of cash out of it. He was carrying hundreds of thousands of Baht which is now missing (yeah right), she was giving him money, I need compensating blah blah blah whine whine whine. Typical peasant mentality.
  10. Good to see the kids finally getting back to school. It does make me wonder if we'll start seeing another category in the daily figures. PCR, ATK, Prisons and now Schools. All reported separately of course, to make the headline number seem smaller.
  11. You clearly don't believe in liberty and personal responsibility. You can't simply ban everything that is dangerous. You'd end up banning rock climbing, boxing, fatty foods, motorsports etc. Just let people out of their homes to work and pay taxes then lock them up again. Much like the past 2 years actually. They key is to educate people about the dangers. After that, it is their choice. Your overly authoritarian stance has been tried and failed many times. If you look at the 12 early signs of fascism it's clear to see that Thailand doesn't need to go any further down that road. In fact, the list could almost be describing the current regime. I'd give them a solid 10/12. https://washingtonmonthly.com/2017/01/31/the-12-early-warning-signs-of-fascism/
  12. I'm double vaxxed with AZ and my life is nowhere near back to normal. I'm still walking around with a mask on 14 hours a day, it's difficult for me to visit friends around Thailand, I can't easily go to visit my family because the UK doesn't recognize Thai implemented vaccines, nightlife is completely dead and 4 hours ago I had a swab shoved about 3 inches up my nose, again. Normal?
  13. Should definitely be legal. They helped me quit. First I went from normal cigarettes to 50% vaping/50% normal cigarettes. Then I went 100% vaping, then I stopped vaping. Haven't smoked in about 6 years now. The only reason they are illegal is because of a concern of a loss of tax revenue. They'd rather people died of lung/throat cancer than lose the revenue stream.
  14. Well if he wants to stay in power he needs the people to not be homeless and starving. The Thai people have been incredibly patient with his inept, illegal, immoral administration but even they have a breaking point.
  15. The way that Covid19 has been used as an excuse to reduce freedoms and interfere with individual liberties hasn't even been subtle. Don't expect these things to be handed back either. Especially with the tyrants in charge of many SEA countries, including this one.
  16. With the bans on Chinese travel abroad and the CCP making it much more difficult for citizens to get money out of China (especially for buying offshore property), it does seem that maybe Thailand has been backing the wrong horse. Such a shame....
  17. Given there are so many unofficial ripoffs in LOS, it's good to see more official, state sanctioned ripoffs to even things up a bit. Seriously though, I do question the timing. They should be begging people to come, not taxing them to do so.
  18. Surely China has an inferior version that Thailand can buy at twice the price?
  19. Unless the intruder was shot, it doesn't really matter whose gun it is since according to the story it wasn't used. With or without a gun, the intruder deserves whatever he gets if he breaks into the house of someone's wife that he is interested in romantically in the middle of the night. If I was the Swiss guy and I had tied him up I probably wouldn't leave the gun on the table next to him either. I don't have that much experience tying people up securely so I'd throw it somewhere it couldn't easily be retrieved if the guy woke up and wriggled free. Certainly somewhere outside the house where it couldn't be seen by the intruder if he fled. If I was hyped/panicking after a fight with an intruder I might throw it in a pond just to be sure it couldn't be retrieved, who knows what was going through his mind after a life threatening fight? Unless they sent divers in there on the off chance there was a weapon in there it's likely the Swiss guy told them exactly where he threw it so it's unlikely he's hiding anything. To be honest, he's probably safer in custody for now - as long as they don't put him in the same cell as Joe Ferrari and a plastic bag full of snacks from 711.
  20. Well I'm sure we can all provide many examples of foreigners not being treated fairly at all. The recent court ruling on the guy being charged extra for life saving medical treatment for cancer is a fairly obvious, and distasteful example. I'm fairly sure many Burmese living in Thailand would also probably beg to differ with you on that. A lot of them are treated disgracefully. Modern day slave labour which is rightly condemned by most when balanced of mind.
  21. Yep, next time they're having a family gathering and all the male relatives have had a few whiskeys it might be prudent for him to stay somewhere else for the night.
