  1. Here are some actual results for you from your beloved left wing Guardian. https://www.theguardian.com/world/2023/may/25/germany-economy-falls-into-recession-high-prices-take-toll https://www.theguardian.com/business/2023/mar/31/uk-avoids-recession-as-economy-stronger-than-first-thought-at-end-of-2022
  2. Ninja 250R might be a good choice. I still have my 2008 model and it's been rock solid. Bullet proof, upright seating position (for a faired bike), 17 litre tank. I dis a fair bit of touring on it back in the day. BKK to Samui, BKK to Nan etc. Great bikes IMO.
  3. Why would we want to do that? We're already outperforming the German economy from outside the EU. Looks like they really did need the UK after all. Imagine that!!! https://www.express.co.uk/news/politics/1795054/uk-economy-jeremy-hunt-germany Still looking for that cliff edge. ????????????
  4. No, people don't know full well what a "Pitfall" is as this thread so brilliantly demonstrates.???? Their bigoted views on the owners (including a picture of a group of black people walking their dogs) has already been debunked. Like I said, these threads are a magnet for the ignorant.
  5. Yes, but I often find it problematic when dealing with people who don't understand them.
  6. In other words, all types of people own PitBulls so the crass generalizations are borne out of fear and ignorance. You've only got to look at the post above with a bunch of black people with PitBulls and the inference "look at who owns these things". These threads are a magnet for bigotry.
  7. Sorry, did I use too many long words. Allow me to simplify. You cannot ban "PitBulls" because they are not a breed.
  8. I've been here 17 years, but if Thaksin teams up with the coup leaders to oust MFP and return home, it might be the strangest thing I've seen yet. Are the Thai people really going to stand for this?
  9. Because "PitBull" isn't really a breed. It's a broad classification of several breeds, often misused to wrongly identify dogs for the sake of a headline in tabloid style journalism. Another reason that breed specific legislation is so stupid. Judging by the size of the dog in the OP it is a crossbreed, possibly with some Mastiff in there. Spot the "Pitbull".
  10. An incredibly ignorant generalization. https://www.dogvills.com/famous-celebrity-pit-bull-owners/ Dr Phil, Jamie Foxx, Tom Brady, Jennifer Aniston, Cesar Millan, Jon Berthnall. All "no good" people people presumably? https://www.insider.com/celebrities-who-love-pit-bulls
  11. More economic pain for normal, hard working American people. Hopefully they will think very carefully before re-electing Biden.
  12. 100% correct. Fake news? Quite often later proved to be factual. The whole article smacks of Orwell's "Ministry of Truth". Who can forget Ardern's chilling statement during Covid.
  13. It all seems to be crashing down on Hunter and his dishonest attorneys. Better late than never.
  14. Great news. Hunter Biden needs to be treated like everyone else. No sweetheart deals because of his father's position. It's great to see this travesty of an arrangement fall apart at the seams. There's hope for the US justice system yet. Well done Judge Noreika.
  15. Indeed. What he said was correct. Unfortunately he isn't fluent in NewSpeak. “Don't you see that the whole aim of Newspeak is to narrow the range of thought? In the end we shall make thoughtcrime literally impossible, because there will be no words in which to express it.” Orwell, 1984.
  16. That's fine, we all have our opinions and outlook on life. But mainly, I just wanted to introduce some facts to counter the alarmist notion that climate change is killing so many people when as my link showed, climate related deaths are at an all time low and life expectancy at an all time high. Personally I think it's a great time to be alive and I don't feel "my generation" needs to apologize for anything.
  17. I'm pretty sure they still exist. Actually we're safer from climate related deaths than ever before. https://www.wsj.com/articles/climate-activists-disasters-fire-storms-deaths-change-cop26-glasgow-global-warming-11635973538 Life expectancy is much higher than 50 years ago. Maybe stop reading all the doom and gloom in the MSM and you'll be a lot happier.
  18. So stop trying to terrify everyone then. Could. Might. Would. Trying to terrify people into giving up their rights and handing over their money.
  19. They should really pay her severance pay and then re-hire her in the new position (assuming she wants the new position). She should refuse to accept the demotion and pay cut and see an employment lawyer. Courts generally side with the employee rather than the employer here and the law is pretty clear.
  20. There's an awful lot of "coulds" and "possibles" and "at risks" in those headlines. ???? Not sure about your Hunter Biden obsession, you might want to get that looked at...
  21. No surprise this is a BBC article. They're absolutely obsessed with climate change. I rarely go to their website now. It's generally doomsday cult propaganda. They've moved on from Covid Emergency to Climate Emergency. Oh and the occasional "entertainment/interest" story about the latest Woke issue, or maybe hiding women's sport under misleading, vague headlines in the hope people click on it by mistake. As for climate change, yes the climate changes over time - history shows us that. If they think Mrs Smith from Number 10 separating her rubbish into green bags and black bags (which won't be collected anyway as they're on strike) will save the planet then they might want to check what's happening in Asia instead of trying to get everyone to feel guilty about drinking mineral water from a plastic bottle and pretending it is news.
  22. Presumably you're not living in the UK paying obscene amounts of tax while being unable to find suitable housing or schools for your kids. Pontificating on forums is a long way off my idea of reality.
  23. Exactly. Solve one problem, create multiple other problems. No wonder there's a housing crisis and a shortage of school places. I'm glad I got out when I did. On the plus side, my rental properties are easy to fill, just have to separate the wheat from the chaff at the application stage.
