Seems like a strange decision. However, Musk is an extremely successful businessman so it's reasonable to assume that he has a plan in place for his free speech platform.

Who cares what Joe does? China plays the long, intelligent game. The US on the other hand gets heavily involved until it all becomes too difficult, or a different party is elected and changes direction. Then they simply pull out leaving a huge mess behind them. Vietnam, Iraq and Afghanistan are good examples. China won't be too worried about the US. If they can't/won't defend Ukraine they're hardly going to go out on a limb for Taiwan. Joe would do well to sit down somewhere quiet. He's still struggling to remember the rules of Checkers, the Chinese mastered Chess generations ago.

Republicans up the personal attacks on Biden and his family

Deeply ironic given The Democrats attempt to turn every conversation into an attack on Trump. Biden's refusal to acknowledge this grand-child is incredibly cruel. It really shows his true nature lurking beneath the "sweet grandpa" facade that his team have tried to create. -
I do hope nobody in PPP/PT suffers from Gluten intolerance. That would be awful. I think we are seeing a glimpse of the anger that would erupt should this partnership proceed. I have a number of Thai FB friends that rarely make political posts expressing their fury at the current situation. This could get very messy, very quickly.

Musk does seem to make some strange decisions when it comes to Twitter. I'm not sure why you would change such a recognizable logo/brand. Maybe he's just joking, you never know with Musk. As long as it remains a free speech platform it will continue to be used by people who value said freedom of speech. It's an increasingly rare commodity in these times of Woke/Cancel culture.

In my experience it is only foreigners who need the money in the bank to cover the card. I don't think it applies now as I have 2 KTC credit cards in my name with no associated KTB bank account (although it was applied for through my employer's HR department so that might be the reason). A few years ago it was double the limit of the card that had to be held in a bank account (this was with Bangkok Bank). This policy does not appear to apply to Thai nationals. Hence the huge debts.

Biden turns up heat on UK over asylum for Afghan hero pilot
JonnyF replied to Social Media's topic in World News
Rishi Sunak (or Rashid Sanook as Joe calls him) has much more important issues to deal with. He has no time to listen to the decrepid old man across the pond. There will be no 'special relationship' while Biden is in power. -
AN Original Republican calls to impeach Biden increased.

Wow - the problems are certainly piling up for Joe and Hunter. The Dems are going to need some pretty big shovels if they're going to bury all of this until the next election. At least they have experience, they'll know to dig the hole a bit deeper than they did last time with the laptop.- 58 replies

Joe Biden needs to stay out of UK affairs. The British run our own country and we certainly don't answer to Biden. If he's that worried about this guy, he can send a plane over to come and collect him and bring him to the US. Whenever you're ready, Joe. -
"refused to bring charges" on Hunter Biden for tax evasion
JonnyF replied to Social Media's topic in World News
No surprise here. The US continues it's decline towards banana republic status under the Biden regime. It's genuinely sad to see. -

As an Englishman with a sense of humour I would love to see that happen. It would be absolutely hilarious. Side splittingly hilarious. For decades… Please, take this idea further. -
Of course. That's why the charges were brought. The fact that he will likely be exonerated after the election will not matter if Biden has already won. Same as Hunter's laptop, as long as the truth remained buried until after the election it was job done as far as the Democrats were concerned. Politically motivated. Dirty, but often effective. If Biden is re-elected the USA will be the ultimate loser.

Pita’s Ambitions to be the Next Thai Prime Minister End
JonnyF replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
While I think Pita should have sorted out the issue with the shares, it really wouldn't have made any difference. They'd have found or created some other reason to ban him, and failing that the tanks would have rolled onto the streets once again. I do feel that Pita has given them an easy path though. Let's see what happens. This could get messy. -
A good decision. The sentence will hopefully quell riots from the usual violent demographic and it runs concurrently so it's not significant to the defendant. The original sentence was appropriate. As for justice for the business owners? No chance. Hard working Americans are considered secondary to violent, drug taking criminals like Floyd.

Revenge politics. This is not about equality. It's about revenge. BLM is a great example. Sure to end well. I mean, what could go wrong ?
