  1. I wouldn't fancy driving them through the BKK floods either, which are a regular occurence in wet season. Given the batteries are normally located at the centre bottom of the car.
  2. Good news. Weed is here to stay. Too much money invested now and too much face to lose by making it illegal again. I'm quite glad, I enjoy a toke occasionally in the evenings (if I'm not going out), helps me sleep and I wake up feeling refreshed.
  3. A great example of a wealthy, old, out of touch politician that should retire. I understand hyper wealth. They are the people who buy people like Pelosi and her husband with insider stock information.
  4. I'm expecting to see a lot more of these incidents as more and more people buy these Chinese EV's. I wonder how insurance premiums will be affected. I can't imagine it's a cheap fix once you car has burnt out.
  5. Well that settles the argument then. If you went to a party with some Thai friends (following your time in Thailand) then that settles all debate (assuming you didn't just make it up to prove a point of course). ???? Personal anecdotes are SOOOO reliable.
  6. No comment on the strength of the UK economy? Did you miss the link? ???? https://www.bbc.com/news/business-66680188 I seem to remember you were one of the biggest proponents of Project Fear. Would you like to admit the UK is performing better far, far than you predicted? (that's a rhetorical question BTW ????). Must be irritating to have been so wrong.
  7. Anecdotal, yet as is so often the case, backed up by the figures. In areas like London the trend is amplified. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Demography_of_the_United_Kingdom#Ethnicity Britain is by far more mutli-cultural now than before. Whether that is a good thing or a bad thing depends on your view of multi-culturalism but if the UK and the US are anything to go by, it's far from the sunlit uplands that Guardian readers would have us believe it is.
  8. Good post. I agree with much of it but not the last paragraph. It was not a mistake, it was the correct decision. But there is zero chance of us returning. The EU would indeed want a huge Euro of flesh to "punish" the UK for leaving in the first place. This would mean ditching the pound and getting a worse deal than we had before (which wasn't very good hence us leaving). This would never work as it would create huge resentment and bitterness, and as soon as we rejoined there would be an immediate campaign to leave again, and that is the last thing the EU wants. So it's better for the Europhiles to just accept they lost and move on. In the meantime, the UK's next step should be to leave the ECHR. We can't have the UK's parliament being over-ruled by appointed judges in Strasbourg. It's anti-democratic. Meanwhile the truth about the strength of UK economy is starting to leak out following all the lies during and even after Project Fear. https://www.bbc.com/news/business-66680188
  9. Another reason why I bought instead of renting. Thai landlords can be a real PITA. So nice not having to deal with them...
  10. Probably when his political opponents told me to. Kerching!!
  11. Yeah 2 goals in added on time. United had Maguire and Evans at centre back for much of the game. How that has happened after the money they've spent is quite incredible. Ten Hag has fallen out with Sancho. Elanga has gone while Martial stays. Quite a few injuries. Sat 11th in the table with City, Spurs, Arsenal, Liverpool all looking strong. It's going to be a long season I think...
  12. United were a bit unlucky with the Garncho offside yesterday. Although, given the gift they got against Wolves 6 points from 12 is probably about right given their performances. Brighton after the international break will be a tough game though.
  13. Yet. The timing of the charges thus far are not accidental.
  14. Clearly disqualifying Trump from running is the ultimate goal of those currently weaponizing the justice system. Getting a conviction for insurrection will be difficult though, even when you have all your favourite "Liberal" judges on the case.
  15. Yep. And if you meet Thong Lor police you're REALLY in trouble.
  16. What he did is Ephebophilia. Not Paedophilia. Not defending it, but let's use correct terminology when labeling people.
  17. Laying the groundwork for retirement. Let's hope so. Better late than never. The US needs some fresh blood in it's politics, too many 70+ out of touch millionaires running the place at the moment (and yes, I do include the Don in that).
  18. Does this mean visas will be easier to obtain if we wear dresses and lipstick to immigration and adopt the mannerisms of Julian Clary? Oh I dooooo hope so. Maybe I'll change my name to JoannaF. ????
  19. More victim blaming nonsense. My sympathy is with those scammed out of their life savings. Not the scammer who comes up with with some lame "they made me do it" excuse. Pathetic.
  20. Maybe you could sympathise with the honest individual (often elderly) who has been scammed out of their hard earned life savings, rather than with the scammer who claims he was "forced to do it"? These people know what they are doing. They think it is easy money and then when they get caught they roll out the usual sob story. I know the left love to sympathize with criminals but this might be a bit OTT even by your standards.
  21. Ridiculously harsh sentences for what was essentially a protest in fancy dress. I guess this is what happens when "Liberals" own the justice system. The steel boot comes down hard on anyone with a differing opinion. Diversity for everything. Except thought.
  22. Time will tell. Trump on the stand, "sticking it to the man" as he will no doubt portray it, in front of millions of people watching live on TV could be a very effective strategy. I'm just not sure that the Dems unleashing their justice department on the opposite side like a rabid dog will play well with the electorate. Let's see.
