  1. Yeah, Bitpay wouldn't send to my Thai address but were okay with my US address (had my tenant mail it to me). The downside... they'd freeze my card after every 2-3 cash withdrawals in Thailand (and would have to 'clear' it up with telephone customer service... but they'd go back to freezing it anyway). Went back to using my old school Amex or local debit card and now just fund those with P2P transfers from Binance traders.
  2. It's almost automatic how many local prosecutors and judges mention that 'death is a possibility' thing in murder cases.
  3. Life's pretty good though. It's like being Leonardo Dicaprio even without the talent or wealth. 50x that when you're even modestly successful and not a drunk.
  4. South Korea is still very Thailand Pass-esque. Japan is still essentially shut but they are 'allowing' East Germany style group tours (you cannot leave the tour or else). Mongolia is open.
  5. The QR code on each PEA bill is specific to that particular month's bill I believe (or at least it was at some point) so might not work to just save one bill (but would work if you could find someone to send you an image of every month's bill). What I have done for all of my properties that aren't leased out is simply save the electricity 'user number' (found on every month's bill) into the my bank's favorites for PEA payments. That's enough to generate a current bill each month on your bank's app. Not sure for all banks, but it works with K Bank, SCB, and GSB. I then set monthly reminders on my phone to coincide with the meter reading date (it's usually on or around the same day) and just handle it that way. For PWA (water), I just use their Line app function that generates a barcode that works with most banks' online banking. You'll also want to set reminders though as your different properties will likely have different billing dates.
  6. Not transit in Taoyuan. (fly KE or SQ instead of BR)
  7. Ratchaphisek/Rama IX, busy AF. And for anyone curious, the mask rule is only in the common areas.
  8. The plus side from the Chinese point of view is that these Royal Caribbean, Holland America, Princess, etc. cruises is that big brother has no authority there. In fact it's well known that while at sea, the laws are a little more murky. As long as you don't do anything 'black' and keep things 'grey,' it's kind of a free for all. Gamble, mingle your money, move some capital within the region... It's like the old junk pirate days with a beverage package.
  9. I did, and my response was to the poster who said Thailand Pass strikes again. Specifically that the local travel restrictions that are causing repositioning of vessels and the cancellation of a majority of Asian sailings are Chinese travel restrictions.
  10. For Americans only though. If you have foreigners in your party, it's two doses and a booster for them.
  11. Likely unrelated to the Thailand Pass, Thai tourists, or even non Asian tourists. Anyone who has been on a few of these (western cruises running in Asia) know that they are packed with Chinese and overseas Chinese gamblers, holiday makers, and money launderers mixed in for good measure. None of these folks care about a few clicks and uploads when there's business and gambling to be done.
  12. Certainly better logic. If anything 'address' reporting should be even more frequent.
  13. Good on you for trying to help. Always sad to hear about something like this but at the same time a great reminder not to let one's guard down and doing something silly in one's private life safety wise.
  14. Generally speaking though the Thai customs 'racket' is going the way of the American buffalo (was just watching Dances with Wolves on the plane). This kind of thing just speaks to their desperation. Gone are the days of suitcases of undeclared currency and gold bars.
  15. The ones that kept healthy cash reserves are opening on June 1. What many have been doing is running their businesses out of hotels and apartment complexes (like in HK).
  16. Double check transit country requirements as well. (I'd add that if you're not flying direct, it's a nice redundant backup that you have the requirements to enter the country you're transiting through so you don't have to stay in the airport in the event of a long delay or cancellation) Recent transit through Vienna (from BKK) who do NOT require anything for transit passengers but the Austrian/Swiss/Lufthansa check in counter at BKK wanted to see my vaccination card anyway (I went ahead and showed them since I didn't want to distract someone who was printing my bag tags).
  17. Of course. I wasn't suggesting to skip it. Just IME.
  18. 6 hours. Not even checked pre flight though. Kind of checked at the connection point by Austrian Airlines (without looking at my passport) so I could have just been flashing a Thailand Pass image.
  19. You definitely want to avoid entering on a non Thai passport if you have a Thai passport. Local imm. is perfectly fine with requiring you to do those 90 day Krakow ghetto type address checks and yearly visas (yes they will collect the fee even when they know you're Thai).
  20. Just IMO but I think a lot of the haters (on this forum anyway) don't have anything against cryptos per se. It's just the old adage of 'people love successful people but not successful neighbors.' Being the most 'handsome man' in the restaurant/bar/market/Makro is 'my' thing.
  21. I bet you can make the same play a few times for a couple days at least. Way too many people out there think it's going to recover. (and seemingly are ignoring the 6.5 trillion Luna supply now) But yeah, gambling.
  22. Lucked out by not being interested in it in the beginning. It's still being traded though. Binance put it back on with its BUSD yesterday evening.
  23. Yeah, some members of the immigration police here are like some police folks in other places, they sometimes feel the need to show they are 'in charge of the situation.' Enter on our Thai passports all the time, and use our 'other' passports as needed. Occasionally we'll get an immigration officer here ask to see the other passport where all they do is flip through it like they are searching for relevant stamps the way they do in some places in the Middle East (not that it's really relevant considering we're not using that passport to enter Thailand).
