  1. I am tired of that too, if it continues with this ANA flight and the other pop ups, I will stop using AN. No other sites I use have annoying pop ups like AN.
  2. Thanks for the information. About 2 years ago we were holidaying in Nakhon Phanom and tried to go to Bueng Kan, but the road was closed, so this time we will follow your advice and take the road from Nong Khai after we have been in Vientiane.
  3. I have been in all provinces except Bueng Khan, Pattani and Narathiwat. Bueng Khan is on the holiday list next month together with a trip to Laos.
  4. My bank, Siam Commercial Bank, closed down internet banking some month ago and now I only have an app on my smartphone to do banking business on. So it is not so easy to follow your advice as you perhaps think.
  5. I am Danish too and receive pensions in Denmark which are taxed with 38 %. I have lived in Thailand more than 17 years. Last year I was invited to a meeting with the local tax office in Kantharalak, Sisaket, I should not bring anything and at the meeting the officers showed me that they had received my yearly tax return from the Danish tax bureau. Since I had paid so much in tax, the officers said I was free to go and I should not report or pay tax to Thailand, it looked that they were sorry for me that I had already paid so much in tax. They showed me that I had a tax ID and that was my ID number on my pink ID card
  6. Since I live close to Ubon and want to fly to Phuket for holiday in october I have searched for a direct flight, but can't find any. Can you help me with where you see a direct flight? In former years I have used NOK Air I think, but can't find any companies now.
  7. I am 77 and soi3eddie's receipt works fine for me
  8. I got it via Lazada, look my link in the post.
  9. https://www.lazada.co.th/products/new-fortuner-trd-2015-2022-dave-racing-i4083341153.html?spm=a2o4m.searchlist.list.5.58b35d66SzI3kL Here is a link to the plate and a picture of where it is placed
  10. Last year I went for a 10.000 km service at Toyota with my Fortuner (new model). My filter looked like the one the OP list, but worse the critters had bite, <deleted> and peed a lot inside the AC unit, so I had to change it at 17.000 THB. To prevent the rats access to the AC unit I had the shop install a guard plate with many small holes over the big hole where the air intake to the unit is. The hole is under the wipers in the upper of the engine compartment (just under the hood). The plate was bought from Lazada since Toyota do not sell that. The mechanic said they had often Fortuners with this problem.
  11. Last year, I phoned Thai Airways and it took more than one hour on the phone and then I had a replacement ticket for my cancelled one for BKK CPH and return. I did not pay anything for the new ticket even the price at that time was higher than what I paid first.
  12. What would you suggest? Nuclear power stations? There is not much wind in Thailand and the sun don't shine all the time. Natural gas in combined cycle (GTCC) thermal power generation plants is an excellent choice since it don't pollute like wood, coal and heavy fuel oil.
  13. In this thread and in the links I have read that low blood pressure can be dangerous to the kidneys, should I be concerned? I am 75 years old 178 cm and 75 kg. I walk/run with sprints with my dogs almost every day for at least an hour. I eat healthy, do not smoke and drink alcohol moderately. My blood pressure first thing in the morning varies between 110-115/55-60 and the pulse 55-60 At the yearly health check my blood pressure is higher, but the doctors only concerns are that my bad cholesterol is a little high, but I will not take statins, the other values are in the normal ranges. I do not take any medications. Sorry for my post is some off the thread.
  14. AXA about thb 4.000 more. No I did not get my 50 % discount from Roojai with me to AXA.
  15. OK then. I asked Roojai if they could issue me another insurance, but they declined and did not offer me a compulsory insurance. But now I have the insurance with AXA and they laughed when I told them that Roojai would not insure my car because I was more than 75.
  16. My compulsory insurance had cover at the same datoes together with my no. 1 insurance, so do you mean that the compulsory insurance still cover even when the insurance have run out of date?
  17. Yes, I were surprised too. I asked if Roojai could issue me another kind of no. 1 insurance of my Fortuner, but they declined, no insurance for holders over 75 years
  18. No, anyone over 25 years old could drive.
  19. After having my Fortuner insured by Roojai for 2 years they informed me again this year that they would charge my card for the renewal. Several days after the renewal date I noticed that the premium were not charged to my account and I contacted Roojai. The excuse was that since I now was over 75 years they could not renew my insurance. And then I was on holiday 600 km from home with an expired insurance. Roojai did not inform me before the insurance expired, that they would not renew. One month later the insurance with Roojai for our Pick-Up in my wife's name (she is not 75) were up for renewal and that we did not renew with Roojai, but also found a new insurer for that car. So if you have insurance with Roojai and are near 75 years of age, then take care that you one day don't have an insurance on your car.
  20. Is Jomtien incl. in Pattaya? For there sure are many Thai people here.
  21. I bought mine Emaux SSC25-T in november 2017 and in december 2019 I took the 2 photos of one faulty spot and wondered what that could be, but the guaranty was over. Now I know what it is, but I guess I have been lucky, for the clorinator have been working fine ever since and still does. Somebody knows if I can seal the "wound" with something and make it watertight?
  22. I use Siam Commercial Bank and when my wife and I opened a joint account for some business only one of us could have the account in the mobil and internet banking the other must use the passbook, we did not get a debit card, since not necessary. On SCB's mobil and internet bank the English is fine. Debit cards normally do not have name on in Thailand.
  23. My answer was mostly to inform that liquid nitrogen was used on my face and close to nose and eye.
  24. I frekvent dr. Anna Jaruwan at Bangkok Pattaya Hospital. First time it was for a mole like outgrow on my ear, the dr. removed it with liquid nitrogen. She said it was benign. Later I got another one on the other ear, same procedure. About a year ago i felt like I had something not fine on the backside of my scalp and went to the dr. again. She cut it off and the biopsy showed it was malign, so one more time to Pattaya when she cut deep to the bone and luckily the new biopsy showed no more cancer. The dr. said it was skin cancer originating from to much sunshine. I went to control after 6 month and dr. Anna said it looked fine and no more cancer there. At the same visit she froze off some dry spots with liquid nitrogen I had on my scalp and face, some close to the nose and eye. She said the dry spots could be the beginning of skin cancer. After a few days the dry skin fell off and the skin under looked fine, a little red, now it looks like the other skin on my face. On the 22. next month it is time for control of the latest freezing. I live in Sisaket, so I enjoy the 600 km trip to Pattaya and the sea. I can highly recommend Dr Anna Waruwan, but I think that she only has appointments on wednesdays.
