  1. I guess what you are saying isn't working, the Thai people I know, know that the police are useless when it comes to crime. Thai people are not as hood winked as farangs think they are, they know the score.
  2. No one should have died over this but drunks usually only have themselves to blame. Loud music for 6 hours and at 3am, thai people have to go to work same as the rest of the world. I would wonder how many times they were asked to tune down the music and loud talk and told the person asking to f------ off. Just as you could not figjre out how to be a good neighbor maybe you can figure out how to pay the price of you belligerence
  3. I suffered marriage visa one year then back to retirement, The money difference is just not worth the hassel
  4. I did a drive around a few days ago and bars open along the moat, loy krok open, if you want a drink you can find it. The area around Chiang Mai Gate has bars open. But do not wait until late to go out if you do every thing will be closed
  5. Six hours of loud music would more than likely drive a few of our posters here to commit murder. Har a situation with my farang neighbors a few years ago. Went over at 2am and ask them to give us a break with the loud music and conversation. Ok, OK will cut the music down at 4am went again to ask but you know drunks, no violence but when I went home my wife had called the police, no real help there but they finally knocked it off. Needless to say we were no longer friends. On my part just the total lack of respect for you neighbor was enough to realize these were not the best choice for friends. Too bad about the dead guy but even in Thailand there is some respect needed for your neighbor.
  6. I will stick with what I have, 90 day reports no big deal.
  7. Thais already know what is up it is only farangs who think all Thais have their heads in the Sand. Get a grip Thais do not need outsiders for help.
  8. How many Thais do you think read this as we all know Thais do not read
  9. Stopped eating <deleted> Salmon 30 years ago. IAt one time ate salmon every week, then got some famed salmon man could you taste the difference. No more salmon do not want to ingest those antibiotics and the millions of pounds of salmon s---t in those huge holding ponds.
  10. I have a friend who works in Bangkok she tested positive 4 days ago, she is now in a hospitel waiting on treatment. The hospitals are full now you will lockdown at home. You people have to much sympathy for deadbeats who run away after their test. If you have the covid man up and take your medicine.
  11. Do not jump on the hotel until you know the facts. A friend in Chiang Mai ran a guest house her and one of the customers complained that there was no parking, this fact was included on the add for guest house. The kicker happen to be the complainer had no car to park. So until you know the full story best to hold your powder.
  12. You have to remember most of the police force donot tap into the big money of Bangkok and other larger cities that have a lot of ways to make side money. The officers working in the out back like Mae Hong Song, Loei, and the other smaller towns and villages just donot have the cash flow.
  13. A friend of mine last year had a problem with his extension of stay Chiang Mai was not helpful so he used his wifes address in Nonthaburi and they were very helpful in sorting out his extension of stay. He had nothing but praise for immigration there
  14. Justice has prevailed the family of the dead policeman have been paid, that is the only justice that will be seen in this case.
  15. That Thais do not read books is a racist trop that goes along with they are lazy and do not laugh. Thais do the same things that every other person in the universe does. I have read this and and the other two as well over the years I have been here.
  16. They leave good paying jobs and what would that be working in 7/11 or busting ass in a factory 12 hours a day for 10,000b
  17. Do they have evidence of any cases of covid originating in a massage parlour, usually Hi-so bars, markets and unlucky people.
  18. I have a friend in Chiang Mai who owned a small hotel, he had a customer who complained about no parking but they had no car. It comes from both sides, people pay the cheapest they can find then some how expect 4 star service. I have never had any problem with booking a hotel are staying in one for over 21 years of Thai time.
  19. Before covid a mix drink in Sanfrancisco was 11 dollars, Beer I presume was more than likely 6 dollars. What are the Happy Hour prices around Nana usually cheap
  20. These cheap airlines can kill you on all there little add on, Book a real airline next time and get to your destination
  21. I live in Chiang Mai and the number of visitors are up both Thai and international. Seeing a good number of farangs out and about walking and on scooters. But no were are the numbers approaching pre-covid. The numbers pre-covid were not all that good compared too pass years, the only thing that helped were the Chinese but their number were off because of the deaths in Phuket from the boat sinking. Would I say lively no way.
  22. You have to have the photo, I have been using the same agent for years , sometime they have interviewed but this year stick my face up to the window and click see you out side 3 min, later passport and passbook out the door.
  23. The two Thai ladies who brought the virus in were both under a 14 day lockdown because they were unvaccinated. A 14 day lock down is required for all returnees who are unvaccinated how is this different treatment. You are just making the usual thau hates us argument wuth out any supporting evidence.
