It is actually cooler because of the cloud cover. It isn't raining every day nor all day.

What is the interest rate on the loan China made. Did they also get the concessions along the rail line they ask for as well.

I worked that out when the 2nd article said both bikes were carrying Thai women as pillion passengers.
I did however presume the big bike was probably at fault and was probably ridden by the Russian. Stereotyping, I guess.

I arrived late last night, on an EK A380 from Hong Kong.
Firstly, the walk from where the A380 gates are to Immigration is Long (despite the moving 'travelators'(?).....especially if you are over 70 yo !
De boarding of the full A380 was especially slow as every passenger was now required to show their boarding pass to cabin staff when they reached the door - the crew member where i left the aircraft hinted that this was a new Thai Imm requirement!
Then after that long walk - "Arrival Hall 1" is closed off ( for some reason -- maybe full already?)
So, more walking to "Arrival Hall 2"
Finally I get to Hall 2 and, of course, take the "Priority/ Disabled" line.
The queue(s) to this "Priority" ( in name only) lane were quite long, as were the normal arrival zigzag lines.
BUT only 2 out of 4 positions manned, and moving VERY slowly as Imm officers carefully scrutinized passports and boarding passes.
One westerner in my line took forever to be processed - some people swapped lines , but really to no avail - just as slow.
Problem was not only the documents check, but the "fully monty" of finger prints of both hands and thumb, and photo !!!!
I was following a Korean couple with toddler - never follow families! - so again, took forever.
In my case, I had PP and boarding pass ready - plus re-entry permit, but was still very slow..
I had noticed one man earlier on in the main arrivals queue opposite who was way back in the zigzag and we both left Imm to get our bags at the same time!!! So much for the Priority Line.
All in all, a very slow , painful experience ( compared to other arrivals I've had here this year).
I know we probably shouldn't compare airports, but HKG Imm arrival ( for me) - 3 minutes - put ID card in the machine, then thumb print and gates open and off to get the bags
Even non-resident arrivals handled quickly and efficiently ( if there's a problem person they are stood aside and dealt with so as not to hold up the following people)
HKG has currently over 60 million arrivals per year and pre-covid, over 90 million. So, similar numbers to Thailand.
Just thought I'd pass on my latest experience, for what it's worth.
Arrive on a 380 what could go wrong

In preparing our latest annual extension of stay based on marriage, we always submit evidence of 400K+ in the bank to meet the financial requirement. We never use the monthly income method. Now we were told, by an agent, that CM IM wants to also know your monthly income amount and sources. I declined to provide that to the agent and we will see tomorrow if an IO requires this info....never have we ever been asked about my monthly income given we use the 400K+ in the bank method.
Anyone ever been asked to provide monthly income when submitting the 400K+ in the bank method?
And another new one; in addition to photos of us in front of the house address and in the living room, now we were told we need two more photos- one in the kitchen and one standing outside the front door...anyone having similar demands?
Give them what they want will make your life easied. The last sentence in requirements for extension of stay states that the immigration officer can ask for what ever evidence he needs to make the final decision

Nothing was on their minds after a stunt like that. My wife was carrying on about it I told her they do the same stuff in there on country, you do not come to Thailand and get stupid over night even if it seems that way

Nothing wrong with that. In the state the White mountain indian tribe leased land on the reservation to people for 99 years. People built million dollar houses on this land. Then there was a change in tribal government by election. The new chief says white man get your house off our land now. There were some great videos of helicopters lifting up the house and flying away. Hopefully the new home owners in Thailand want have to fly their house out.

I hope the op heals soon and has learned a good lesson he like many here no longer as young as we once were. I do not need a few days in a icu.

They have clue.. They see all foreigners as tourists for a few weeks to spend their money here and leave. Long term expats and retirees are allowed here to sit at their home travel around the country and drink coffee, and the latest pay tax.. But they are not allowed to do even some volunteer work which on a retiring visa is impossible because you can't get a workpermit for free work on it. So sit at home watch TV and go drink coffee and sometimes travel around ... That is retirement in Thailand and they are wondering why there are no people coming.
You need a work permit for everything that a Thai can't do, so no jobs left for long term expats
Did you retire here looking for a job, then you are not a retiree. Thailand is not perfect but immigration has a job to do and it is with foreign visitors. It does no good to complain about precieved lapses in arresting Thais , which they do on a daily basis, as immigration police are tasked with policing the people who arrive here for a visit.

I don't have a source to hand but you can easily google news articles and similar where these stats are quoted.
The average earnings in Thailand are very low but the tax exemptions, allowances and deductions are quite high. It is easily possible to register as self employed and sell a product that you make and turn over 1 million baht per year in sales and generating income of 50K per month but paying tax of only 8k per year. The allowances are very generous, which, when combined with creative accounting, makes the tax return easily avoidable for most. But the Revenue is getting better at detecting tax evasion, especially now that much of the finance picture is electronic.
Be carefull with the creative accounting. My wife worked for a business which paid tax and used thetax deduction. My wife had told the boss to take photos of the promotional parties she had written deductions for, the boss didn't take any photos. The tax man shows up one day and says we do not believe your written deductions, what proof do you have. Well none, we didn't take photo. They were hit with 25,000b fine.

A shocking incident at a shopping mall in the city of Trang on March 5 left a 58 year old Thai woman, Natchanan Kikkham, with severe injuries after a violent altercation with a 60 year old Swiss national, Dieter Matthias Straumann. 25 year old Natchanan’s son, Kritpong Kikkham, is resolute in seeking justice for his mother, who is now hospitalised with a prognosis of at least one month’s recovery.
The confrontation began when Natchanan was shopping and accidentally bumped into Straumann, leading to a heated exchange. Straumann, who has been living in Thailand on a retirement visa, reportedly attacked Natchanan without provocation, striking her multiple times and then fleeing the scene. Witnesses report Natchanan threw a water bottle in retaliation, after which Straumann returned, choking and beating her further, even slamming her head against the floor.
Straumann was subsequently detained by local police for questioning but remained tight-lipped throughout the interrogation. His recent passport renewal on October 28, 2023, and the upcoming visa expiration on November 14, 2024, indicate his legal status in the country. The police have prepared to charge him with serious assault due to the gravity of Natchanan’s injuries, which include a broken nose and chest trauma, rendering her unable to breathe properly.
Kritpong, who along with relatives has been appealing for fairness at the Trang Hospital, recounted his mother’s harrowing experience, emphasizing the unprovoked nature of the attack. Multiple witnesses within the mall have come forward, ready to testify on Natchanan’s behalf. The police, after a preliminary medical report, are consolidating evidence for Straumann’s potential prosecution.
Straumann’s only response to the police’s announcement of the impending legal action was a terse, “Can not, I will go home. Don’t take photo me.” The relatives of the victim have affirmed their commitment to pursue the case to the fullest extent, underscoring the severity of the assault and the need for justice, reported KhaoSod.Amidst ongoing controversy, Swiss citizen Urs Fehr’s visa status was reviewed by immigration authorities due to his involvement in a Phuket assault case. Concurrently, inquiries were made into his business operations and foundation.

IMHO driving over someone at 60kph is attempted murder.
You are more than welcome to suggest an alternative charge if your opinion is different.
The Thai court clearly think it isn't an offense worthy of their time and consideration.
You need a lawyer on your side to push. How many hi-so Thais do you see that get away with murder on a Thai. If you do not push for justice why should the Thais

Maybe a 21st century computer system connected with all immigration checkpoints and offices could be a start. How is it possible to enter with a false passport? They take their time to check at arrivals as we see the queues so where did it go wrong? And all the other offenders.....Thais are not better than these foreigners
Alot of people think Thailand is running on the paper and pencil of 20 years ago. I loved the story about the female brit who had been black balled from Thailand for a drug issue. She waited for I believe 5 years got a new passport different name and she went directly to the no entry waiting room waiting for her second deportation
