Sad and horrific way to die. RIP to this troubled soul.
I don't like to mention it but from watching, reading and listening to other accounts of farangs killing themselves over Thai 'girlfriends' here, many of those Thai women are that heartless and callous that they may well be back in a bar, on Thai Friendly within hours of their deaths. We are just their financial sources and love/affection is a ruse. Many many hoodwinked virtuous white knights here.
You know this as a fact and howndo you know it, you interviewed his girl friend

Problem is that I see a lot of locals who see 'breaking laws' as an Olympic discipline. Will they also get red and yellow cards?
Where o where will they deport them to.

I bet this IB investigation was "very narrowly focused" like predominately looking at visas/extensions issued to Chinese at certain immigration offices vs a broad focus of all nationalities and all immigration offices. That is, blinders were worn with the head kept straight ahead versus looking in all directions & locations......look under these few rocks; do not look under all the rocks, etc.
It is like any investigation if your boss says find out whythere are so many murders in Chiang Mai thats what you investigate you do not veer off to investigate the murders in Bangkok.

Maybe they should study what tourists want in their holidays and what are holidays for......
If I come to Thailand on holiday.. I can't smoke my e cigarette, as the fine will huge...
I can't drink a canof beer on the beach at 15.00 as of alcohol restrictions,
Ican't drive a motorcycle, as my driverslicense is not valid here,
I will be scammed by taxis, waterski rentals, daily trips, pay extreem more to visit natioal parks. and because of the strong THB my holiday is extra expensive... Apart from that in my country the energy bill has gone up some times more than 200%, airline tickets are more expensive as there is a policy to discourage flying, because of the enviroment and many more things. In the meantime Thailand wants an extra entrance fee now of 300 THB for a country that can not fulll my relaxed feeling of a holiday...Yes tourists..........and the 50/50 payment of the Government for holidays.... seems good, but it will cost the Thai money too and where do have to that from every month???
Get a international drivers licenses and you can ride your bike.

tourists have money.. they pay entree tax, and leaving tax, we have double pricing for them in national parks, no meter taxis, and we fine them for no helmets, e cigarettes, and no driverslicenses.... Alcohol can not be bought during daytime, and we wonder why tourists don't come
Tourist do not come, what rock have you had your head under. The hotel association in Chiang Mai has said 1.7 million tourist have visited Chiang Mai since the beginning of high season.

Not sure that I agree with your sentiment that foreigners are not wanted on Thai soil. I do agree that Thailand can make it extremely tedious and difficult. Stamped entry in and out in the digital age. A great way of keeping people menially employed.
Here's a stark contrast; today, my Cambodian girlfriend and I (British) came here to Singapore. When we arrived at 3:15pm there was zero queue at airport immigration, in fact almost every kiosk was an automatic gate. She was astonished at how different it is to Thailand. She was able to use the electronic gate for entry (as was I). 10 seconds and we had cleared immigration, baggage was just arriving and we were out of the door. Amazing efficiency. Was even able to use our contactless debit/credit cards to pass the gates into (and out of) the MRT train system. Singapore appears to be thriving with tourists and workers.
You have to remember Thailand has a mind set about keeping people working, it is one way for people to have jobs

I guess you guys missed the part where they had run ponzi scheme in China and had left ahead of the police and had gotten 2 passports along the way.

I think the RTP got way more than what they bargained for, a feisty chick that will not forget or forgive until she finishes to say what she has to say which probably most of it is true.
It helps her that she doesn't live here and can say what she pleases

I'm guessing this was Thong Lor police. Now I am no fan of Thai police but I suspect either she had something on her or she had the "Don't you know who I am" attitude and rubbed the police up the wrong way. Maybe even deliberately to get content for her social media profile.
I've been stopped and searched by them a few times (also outside The Robin Hood on 33/1) and as long as you are pleasant and don't have anything that you shouldn't, then they are OK and send you on your way.
Having said that, if they asked me to do a pee in a cup at the side of the road test, I suspect I might end up spending a night in the cells for 'attitude adjustment' and making a donation to their annual party.
We do not know where this took place and you pull thong lor out of thin air

Ok just come from my agent: Imm are insisting on seeing "funds" [800k?] in the bank for two months before the transfer of stamps (no it wasn't likely in The Royal gazette). I reiterate that I am outside the two month before renewal window. Agent agreed there is no such regulation, which will catch many out if universally applied - I had the good fortune to have 800k left in that account all year - remember this is through an agent who "facilitates" things."
Basically inventing a rule that will catch out a lot of people if it is 800k not 400k they want to see. Will do a standalone thread in due course to warn others.
People miss the last sentence in list of requirements. The immigration officer can ask for any information he deams necessary to complete immigration process.

Why do you disparagingly condemn those who may have a different opinion (based on their experiences) to your opinion as being "apologists"? What is that all about?

If she got her luggage she was done with immigration. At LAX you go thru immigration first then you collect your bags and go thru customs. Then your are done to leave. Total false and uninformative post by our fluent English. I cannot believe any immigration officer would speak to anyone like that. Although I had a female officer try and take a Von Dutch bag I had brought back to Thailand years ago. I had brought back about 10 bags for my daughters friends. Customs had me empty my bag and this femal officer took the bags and she seperated one from the group. After a check the bags were ok as no notice about them being counterfit in the computer. The woman shoved all the bags over to me except the one, while putting the bags in my luggage I told her by the way I will also take the bag over there, being the one she seperated. She had a crappy look on her face O well it is how it goes.

The laughter will ensue but until (worldwide) there is a standard drink drive limit and to exceed it ensures a (mininum) 1 year custodial sentence on the spot then the carnage will continue
I dont care what people think if you know yourself that a simple road side Police block could send you to the monkey house on the spot and with car/bike confiscated then you will heavily stop people doing it not just in Thailand but everywhere....you'll never stop some but you will stop a lot
Bang em up seriously. And dont get me started on drug driving, Thats 10 years on the spot lol
People will cont. to drink no matter the fine if drink driving. We have stiffer sentences in the States than years ago and people still get busted. It would be no different here.

Changing baht to USD should not be expensive if one uses reputable money exchangers. Go to any bank, different story.
I only ever used a debit card in Vietnam, with no problem. I can't say if the same would apply to credit cards.
You will get the worst exchange rates at a bank
