  1. To get a number for the queue you need to show your docs and what your wanting.

The 60 day extension part. They've either changed their rules or the staff don't know about it. I asked a third volunteer today and he said " because the marriage was outside the country then I had to use another entry(visa run)".

You should talk to a real immigration officer not a volunteer.

They are confusing one year extension requirements with 60 day extensions.

The 60 day extension can be done with a foreign marriage certificate in English or a translation of it to Thai.

Of course Phuket may have their own requirements different from everywhere else like some others they have.

That maybe the case in other Imm Centres but not in Phuket.... as I found out last week! You should exclude this advice for Phuket.

You can stretch out a multiple entry visa to 15 months of total stay by doing an entry just before the visa expires to get another 90 day entry. If married to a Thai or have a Thai child you make it 17 months by getting a 60 day extension for the last entry.

The visas enter before date on the visa is just the last day you can do an entry it does not limit your time in the country.

    Which part?

Only the 60 day extension is done at an immigration office. Phuket does the 60 day extensions on a regular basis. There have been reports of people getting them.

The stretching to 15 months is done by entering the country.

  4. Thanks understand. Hopefully they accept house book and ID card. Do you know which police order this is?

You asked about doing an extension and that is the requirements to get one.

You can get a 60 day extension with just your wife being with you and copies of her house book and ID card.

You must leave the country every 90 days to get a new entry or at the end of the 60 day extension.

  5. Thanks. I have to supply this even though I don't live here?

Visa are not extended. Only a permit to stay can be extended. You can apply for the extension during the last 30 days of any of your 90 day entries you get from the visa.

There is a lot more needed than the TM7 form.

Do you have financial proof of 400k baht in a Thai bank in your name only for 60 days or proof of 40k baht income?

Your wife will have to be with you when you apply to do a statement.

You will need 2 completed TM7 forms with copies of the following attached to both of them.

Marriage certificate and a Kor Ror 2 marriage registry.

Copies of you wife's house book and ID card.

Copies of your passport pages and TM6 departure card.

    Map to your house.

Photos of you and your wife in and around the house. One photo must you both showing the house number.

Proof of residence unless you are living where your wife's house book is for.

You may also need a copy of your affirmation of permit to marry you gave the Amphoe when you go married.

There could be additional things that Phuket immigration may want. You should check with them to get their requriements.

  6. You're arriving at 7am or 7pm?

Just want to say thanks to everyone for all the great info in this thread! I leave tomorrow from Chiang Rai to Savannakhet to get my non-o visa. Any recommendations for a nice, relatively cheap hotel in Mukdahan? I'm flying down to Don Muang and then taking a bus from Morchit 2 to Mukdahan which will arrive on Friday at 7am, so in theory I could arrive, get my visa, and then get straight back on the bus Friday evening and get it all done in a day, but I think I'll be pretty tired after all the travelling, so I'll probably stay a night in Mukdahan and catch a bus back Saturday morning.

Just around the corner from the consulate in Savannakhet is a cheap hotel 400b a night. Head towards the river, turn right and 50m on the right. If you're arriving at 7.00am, catch the next bus to Laos from Mukdahan.

Thanks for the info, but if the consulate in Savannakhet is still giving out the visas on the same day, I'll probably spend the night in Mukdahan so I can catch an early bus the next morning back to Bangkok.

  8. I stayed at the Riverfront 800b nice place and a good breakfast. Not much to do there good food and a few bars. One thing I did find was the lack of transport especially after 8pm. Mukdahan is a quiet country town. Catch the bus to Lao at 7am from the bus station 100b. I suggest downloading the Lao VOA form so you don't miss the bus when it stops at Thai Imm...they won't wait for you.

Where should I fly to Nakhon Phanom or Mukdahan looks like with flights I will have to overnight anyways since the flight arrives too late to get my documents in so where should I stay any suggestions welcomed
