Only get it done at the MFA, if there's any problem with the translation then you only need to go downstairs. On the first floor there's a translating service as you step off the elevator. They charged me 400b per page for the express service. If you want the MFA express service you must be one of the first 50. Get there early!!!

I think so. They offer for free which I doubt they would do for everybody.

Would also be interesting to know more about the OP's visa history, has he been staying in Thailand on Tourist visas/visa free entries for a long time? Apart from that, reading some previous threads I had to conclude that at Ranong they sometimes refuse people who are very obviously bona fide tourists.

I didn't think they'd issue 90(APEC) days at a land crossing. Otherwise I would have taken my card. What's really annoyed me is that I have no overstays and not been a border runner. They didn't look at my previous history(stamps). Just to say no to a 15 day visa because of what!...because they can! And was mentioned in another post it means less work. They only need to deal with the gamblers visiting Andaman Club.

Another vote to edit the title of thread to accurately portray the visa attempted (visa exempt stamp vs tourist visa). The current title will lead to unnecessary fearmongering.

Drove to Ranong today as my 90 day(APEC) visa expires tomorrow. I was hoping to get a 15 day TV, which would see me through until next weeks trip to Savannakhet. They flatly refused, unless I had 10k plus and outward ticket., I arrived at 3.30pm hoping to catch the last boat from Andaman Club.

Hi , anyone successfully had their marriage visa approved, using the minimum salary per month method? I went in on Monday with all the relevant docs/pictures. The Farang Imm Officer told me that 400k would be accepted but probably not 40k....even though I had stat dec from the NZ embassy stating my income was 90k a month!

Is this a case of different office/rules? I've attached the information form for those who might need it.

Friends of mine had one built recently. Made of steel and colour bond style roofing. They have a similar house to your and it cost 150,000b. They did I nice job. I'll try to find the number.

 

I also know a good builder, but, need to know what it will be made from.

Concrete and tiles? Bamboo with thatch? Wood?

Thank you and would appreciate the info ! It is a pergola style extension (meaning flat roof) to give more cover, it will be attached to the house, stick out and have support posts.

I am open to different construction materials depending on the advice given, as long as it suits the house. To give you an idea see photo of similar house

and the extension needs to cover the whole front and stick out about 2.5 meters...
