Since our Police force is corrupt to the bone and has a worldwide reputation as an organized criminals, I welcome the British to come review the case.
That's what he should say.
indeed they let the boss of the island on the crime scene as the pics prove seriously does anybody think thats a real investigation?
but they insist and they are so persistent and stubborn in their farce
Very strange and concerning event, the injuries to Hannah Witheridge appear to be and act of anger designed to make a beautiful girl deformed and ugly. Hopefully the truth will come out and the perversely sick individuals who committed this heinous act will be suitably punished.
PS: You can find an interesting video at You Tube, entitled "The Story of the Koh Tao Murder", but beware there are some graphic pics.

we can only hope they have done dna tests on his other male family members to get the proof needed, it also seems that the police were stalling the investigation under orders from these influential people, lets hope this does not mean that the killer will walk free due to family influence as we so often see here in Thailand.
I was thinking this morning back to Dale Henry's murder in Ranong. The murderer was tight with the police, and was known to have done "jobs" for them. The victims families need to get a good lawyer. The Canadian embassy were not the most helpful in Dale's case, so don't expect too much from the UK one.
Good point Mosha. I remember that case. Awful it was the pressure was kept on. Sadly the tosssers at Brit Embassy wont do anything
The wife of a Canadian man shot to death in Thailand, her lover and a hit man have been sentenced to life in prison. Dale Henry, 48, was shot in the head while sleeping in his own bed at his home in Ranong province, Thailand on Feb. 3, 2008.

"On the one hand, the OAG's decision could weaken the NACC or discredit it further, especially since it was accused of being unusually hasty in launching an investigation and drawing a conclusion on the case against Yingluck."
I believe it was the defendant and her legal team that made this claim so one would assume it hasn't discredited the case at all.

Hmmm the numbers don't add up here.........."For two years - from 2012-13 and 2013-14 main and second crops, about Bt870 billion was spent to purchase 44.1 million tonnes of paddy for the government's stocks." OK
Then...."Now the government has about 18 million tonnes of milled rice in its warehouses." so they sold 46 million tons. But then...."Thailand has also surrendered its crown as the largest rice exporter in the world, with shipments overseas plummeting to only 6.9 million tonnes last year from 10.6 million tonnes in the previous year".
Hang on that's a discrepancy of 28 million tons??? Where did it go? Who was in charge? Who's idea was it?

So, did the same duo distribute pamphlets when it was known the Yingluck Administration was working on the "amnesty" bill. When the (by now) blanket amnesty bill" was pushed through parliament? Did they join the anti-government protesters?
Did they condemn the red-shirt MPs and the UDD leader turned MP Korkaew for voting for the blanket amnesty bill?
BTW it seems that they only signed some papers to get the compensation money after understanding that the fine print only meant they couldn't sue the Yingluck government.
Somehow these people seem just being used in a game they can't win.
What you should be asking rubl, is if they had distributed leaflets criticising rulings during Yinglucks administration, would they have been arrested?
But you don't stop there, oh no,
"it seems that they only signed some papers to get the compensation money after understanding that the fine print only meant they couldn't sue the Yingluck government'
You really have hit the depths with that one, rubl. A true example of anything goes, if it's "anything but Thaksin"
Fab 4 it would take a master of fabrication and misdirection to forget that the redshirt leaders were able to not only protest court decisions and judges but also publicise their names and addresses. All with complete immunity from the Thaksin puppet government and his clone PM, Yingluck.

Seems their credibility is questionable as they didnt include Tarit in their protest for justice.

It might be worth reading the topic Fab4 as you post has nothing to do with it.
But given that Thaksin is such a
Patheticprophetic figure it must give him pause to castigate the author of this book as the title 2559 is also the alleged number of people killed during Thaksin's war on drugs. Or that 2016 marks ten years from 2006 and the end of the statutes of limitation for Thaksin's crimes.oak.jpg I know nothing
PS: Ramet, google, "Thaksin biography" autobiography implies he wrote it himself.
Sorry, waza, didn't realise you've taken over rubl's job. I was providing some background information to rametindallas wrt jaidams post. Just trying to help out but it obviously upset your day for some reason. If you don't want to read it, don't. If you're that upset about an aside being off topic, report it to the mods.
ps your comment about the number of people allegedly killed in the war on drugs is also off topic but it didn't upset me enough to report it - but I would just like to point out that your numbers are inflated by about 100%.
"I would just like to point out that your numbers are inflated by about 100%."
Oddly enough, Human Rights Watch disagree with you, fab4.
http://www.hrw.org/news/2008/03/12/thailand-s-war-drugs
"In the first three months of the campaign there were some 2800 extrajudicial killings. In 2007, an official investigation found that more than half of those killed had no connection whatsoever to drugs."
My post was very topical, try reading it.

It's almost as if Thaksin is worried about being forgotten. Judging by the poor artwork and general naffness of the book cover, this must be another masterpiece by the crying Lieutenant Sunisa L.
My favourate Thaksin book is the one he had written to portray himself as a man of the people. It is hilarious. Easily googled, will have you laughing in disbelief at his humble upbringing slaving away in his Dads coffee shack and then riding to school alone through dark roads on a rickety push bike. Just brilliant!
I 'Googled', 'Thaksin autobiography' and didn't find it. Will you please supply a link or key words to use on Google?
Jaidam is basing his scorn on a Thai Rak Thai Advert before the 2001 Election. To understand that, let's face it, electioneering piece in it's context, it might be worth reading this:
Pasuk Phongpaichit and Chris Baker in “Thaksin: The Business of Politics in Thailand” look carefully into Thaksin’s background and note that by the time of Thaksin’s birth his family was “well off and well connected” (page 34) although notes (page 36) for a period of time that the family fell on hard times after Thaksin’s father was apparently cheated by a business partner and Thaksin’s early schooling was at a nursery at a local temple and that Thaksin helped his father in the businesses they had. Pasuk and Baker then note (page 36 again) that the hard times were “relatively brief” because after three years at a local school Thaksin later went to Montfort College which they describe as “one of Chiang Mai’s most established, prestigious, and expensive schools” for the rest of his education.
BP: Thaksin was never poor. He was born into a well-connected family, but through circumstances his family became middle-class for anywhere between three to five years before rejoining the Chiang Mai upper classes. BP should point out that this is Chiang Mai “upper classes” and while it is correct to describe Montfort as an expensive school for Chiang Mai, the cost of tuition fees pales in comparison to an international school in Bangkok.

So that's what 840 billion baht buys you in Thailand, an 18 million ton rice mountain that is 15% unusual rice and 10% of registered rice missing. So that's 1,628,750 per ton
They paid the farmers, "The payments will total Bht 195.45 billion for 11.8 million tonnes of rice" That is So that's 16,287 per ton for a total of 294,000,000,000 Bht

"Ex-premier Yingluck Shinawatra and her son have flown out on a THAI flight to Paris shortly after midnight Wednesday but promised to return on schedule........Accompanying her on the flight included her niece and her son’s two close friends."
[attachment=276557:thaksin yingluck.jpg]
"Ousted premier Thaksin Shinawatra’s youngest daughter Paetongtarn was also on the same flight but was not seen at the airport. She reportedly checked in after most media representatives have left. Thaksin’s divorced wife Khunying Pojamarn Damapong has flown out earlier to Paris."
[attachment=276560:paetongtarn-shinawatra_full.jpg]
But Tahksin is disappointed with Paetongtarn because she only managed 8 suitcases.
Other Shinawatra family members who included Yingluck’s elder sister Mrs Yaowapha Wongsawat and her husband Somchai Wongsawat, Thaksin Shinawatra’s younger brother Payab and former foreign minister Surapongare scheduled to leave for Paris on another flight Thursday night.....http://englishnews.thaipbs.or.th/yingluck-away/

Actually the courts need to act in accordance with the rule of law, and not be swayed by media or public opinion like this.

What do the experts think?
Marc Faber says the stock market is setting up for a decline more painful than the sudden crash of 1987. "I think it's very likely that we're seeing, in the next 12 months, an '87-type of crash," Faber said with a devious chuckle on Thursday's episode of "Futures Now." "And I suspect it will be even worse."Why Stocks Won't Crash (For Now)Many stock markets are only marginally off record highs and yet there’s already a growing chorus of calls for a larger correction or crash. Comparisons to 2008, 1999, 1987 and 1929 are all the rage. Marc Faber, aka Dr Doom, appeared on television with a twinkle in his eyes to declare a likely re-run of 1987, but worse. Faber suggested the S&P 500 would fall 30% this year. http://www.forbes.com/sites/jamesgruber/2014/04/13/why-stocks-wont-crash-for-now/Why the Next Stock Market Crash Will Happen Any Day Now.....There is overwhelming evidence that the next stock market crash could strike any day now, and a growing number of investors are turning to a noted economist to prepare for the “unthinkable.”

Wouldn't it be wonderful if business, including the industry of religion, was barred from all involvement in politics including influencing policy. Not only in Thailand but all around the world. There would be a more empathetic people centred type of person running for office, and a policy of improving the quality of life for all citizens equably.
