  1. I got this Idea some people after reading people in chicken farm, fish farms, verious crops, factories, and farming from 10 rai to 1500rai

wanted to post this in the farming section but thought better here hoping to attract many.

in short, what do you think the optimum investment with a good IRR is, for example in Jordan it was said that the most successful business is that is less than 100k USD and owned by 1-2 persons. as a personal business not a big company

so in case of Thailand, from all you guys that are running factories farms factories, and from experience.

would you mind mentioning or giving details about your projects as to give a better idea,

now ideally if the info supplied is unified is great like,

    Activity, farming, factory, retail, ...etc

Size, land, number of housing if chicken farms, ponds if fish, hangar if factory

    Initial Investment, did it grow

    IRR

how many years in the business

    and age :o

thanks in advance for all who wish to particpate.

  2. Thank you all for the input it is always nice to hear ideas it helps in setting up,

the water level, and type of water will soon be availbale i have it in mind to be tested as well as the soil.

as for nationalities by then my wife and daughter should have Thai, Canadian and Jordanian.

now the land next to us is my sister-in-law land she is currently in Germany and did two big ponds, as the one in front of us i just bought on the other side, we agreed on the price and will buy, and the one behind us is also on the same plan, there for the privacy thing i think i have covered.

still looking for that 50 rai though.

i agree fish and chicken farming is work intense, but i plan to make that my living and hense will not mind the hard work, as i hope it will provide good income for my daughter education. as well as some cash to head home every couple of years for a month or so.

now one of the ten rais that will acquire is rice farming, should i place Euco trees will that land be able to convert back to a rice paddies in the future? as i think even as a falang we should keep the rice farming industry going and it looks great when it is all green, and then yellow, as well as you get the shrimps and small fish, can use it for corn, and other thingies.

just saw goats for sale, i do very good white goat cheese. :o

  3. well, i bet there where tonnes and tonnes of e-mails regarding this issue,

but i am planning to move permanently to Nong Bua in 4-5 years time, i know it is early, but wanted to share my plans and get input from the ex pats already there living for many years, and also get new advice.

I already have 5 rai, Planing to buy 14 more within 12 months. and should i find a good price land will go for 50rai and up, for both as future kids investments as well as farming.

in those 4-5 years i am planing to have had the house built the land ready for a project, (sheds, ponds, irrigation channels if needed)

the daughter will be 4-5 years by then as well.

my plan since i am not there at this moment to plant eucalyptus trees (afraid that it will kill the land even though i have been told the new kind does not have strong roots) so that by the time we move there those 15-rai trees will be sold and will have enough money to start something over there.( do not get me wrong i do still plan to get some cash with me :o )

my thoughts go as follows for project is,

    Fish Ponds,

    Chickens,

and what i am mostly interested in is chilli peppers.

anyway should anyone have input that will greatly be appreciated. even though it is early i though if i build the correct infrustructure now when i go back i will need not to worry about eating up my cash with no revenue for setting up a project.

  4. Hey, got a friend who is traveling to BKK from HK, then directly out to Siam Riep, Cambodia.

    Actual flight is like this:

Arrive bkk at 1620, then out at 1905 to REP.... What do you think, enough time to get through customs and back out. This is in December, but not sure the exact date (somewhere in the middle of the month)....

    Any ideas?

Almost three hours, should be plenty of time.

What's he coming in on, CX751? Don't see exactly "1620" eta.

Also don't see exactly "1905" on PG to REP. Have PG909 at 1825. This however is for October, haven't looked up December's schedules so he may be correct.

    Mac

i had 2 hours i went to ekamai got my wife's visa went back to the airport and made it to chiangmai,

  5. mostly the original shawerma is not made of high grade meat( like taco bell grade meat)

mostly fatty meats lamb, or lamb leftover with frzoen baby veal,(the lamb for taste and smell, veal fo volume and colour) it is soaked in vinger and spices.

the way the shawerma is made because of its small peaces is usually compressed there are machines that compress but the same time there are shops that get very imaginative.

the shawerma chef as you call them is the guy who can compress them. the slices should be thin as they are well cooked.

just rcently in jordan the chicken shawerma places where put on hold, due to many poisening, the new rules state that the chicken shawerma should not be larger than 40cm in diameter.

as for beef you will nto belive that but i will post a picture soon showing how big they get, with no adverse affect on health.

  6. for cleaning cars that i have done to my engine as well, just grabbed a few bottles shook them and sprayed the engine let it sit for a little and then washed.

take a peace of meat and soak it in cola products see how fast it desolves,

  7. I got this idea from another forum, where i have said i use the cola products to clean the toilet bowl.

i also used it to lossen stuck nuts and bolts.

i also tried it in flushing my radiator of my car, and it worked great.

soaked bolts, nuts, tools, chains, in cola before cleaning and lubricating the tools.

i tried polishing bumpers with it but it really did not work.(must dip Al foil in it or some how but it did not)

oh and I use 7up or srite to tendarize meat for grilling.

so anyone else found those killer soft drinks usefull, in other ways?

  8. should that be true that is very wrong,

but after seeing them in phuket i bet he did something to deserve it,

i have seen them drunk with girls then when it comes to food they ask if it is halal, or early morning calling eath other in the corridors of hotels to do morning prayers,

should he be one of those Hippocrates, that served him well.

  9. in my opinion i think the big question is if having a baby at an older age, is would this be fair to the new born? yes a person will be more mature and be able to take care of teh baby more but some things can not be enjoyed with a youngster at an older age.

for me i would like to be able to take my children on all the roller coaster rides without having to worry about anything.

so delaying is no problem as long as it is not delayed so that that child will not have the joy of playing football with eth father or enjoy a nice whitewater rafting trip, or a long hike and camping trip.

  10. most new people into thailand love the airport think it is great

All those newly-arrived people that took 3 hours to clear Immigration probably would dispute that.

    http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/index.php?sh...=139697&hl=

does not look like a long thread :o so it did not bother many people.

my familly and friends all travelled through and no one had anything to complain about, again that is our experience. and i never saw frustration on anyone while traveling there.
