  1. Another great leather shop off of Pattaya Klang on soi 16 1 block down on the right has a leather shop. You can't miss it lots of leather jackets vests boots etc. The gals are really talented & can make you up anything from an idea. I use them for wallets. Mesh jacket projects & anything difficult to make.

Thanks, I went to the shop last night, they use very nice leather and wanted 4,500 for a mens vest and 3,500 for ladies vest.

  2. I took a lot of plastic bottles to the recycle depot near me and they told me they do not take the green plastic bottles sprite comes in as these are not recycled, I do not know if this is true or they just do not get paid for the green plastic bottles, but If it is true then it is something I feel Coca Cola should do something about.

  3. Hmmm. Yamaha Fino seems to be the most modified scooter even up to 300 cc, certainly 180. So after market parts are out there.

It is very well modified, but they are bolt on bits you are talking about, the panels and switches etc are not copied much if at all with Yamaha, drop a fino and find out, you can easily be up for 30,000 baht in plastic. Honda you can buy a complete set of panels for under 10,000 baht for no OE stuff

  4. Took it to a shop, they quoted 2,500 for Hi Kool and 3,500 for Master Tint (which the samples look a lot better), they didnt have Lumina, So They used Master tint and didnt charge for the removal of the old Tint, the small shop is on Thepprasit just after Soi 10 heading towards the beach, they also service air conditioning. The whole job was done in 4 hours and looks great.

  5. I was talking with the bike shop near me last night about what my 9 year old Yamaha Nuovo is worth, 9,000 baht was their guess which was backed up by Mityons valuation. The other issue he mentioned is parts for older Yamaha and Suzuki are hard to get and all parts are expensive. Honda retain their value a lot better and a 9 year old manual wave would be worth more than the Nuovo.

There are also a lot of after market parts for Hondas if you choose to go that way, very rare for the other two brands.

Feel a bit happier now I have a click, even though it is not as nice to ride, there are a few things I dont like about it, like when i hit a bump and having long legs my knee hits the ignition key and turns it off, which can be very dangerous, the foot pegs for the passenger are poorly located as any slow manouvering my heels hit them when feet on the ground, the steering also is very twitchy and it follows road contours, which the Nuovo didnt, the small front wheel I think is the blame here. It does use less gasoline than the Nuovo though.

  6. I have had the original window film put on when the car was new from Ford taken off and a lighter film put on,the price quoted was done on the phone beforehand as if priced to film new glass, the shop didn't charge any extra than the quoted price when I turned up with film already on the glass.so I would think if they do charge extra it will be a small amount..

Do make sure whichever shop does it that they cover the interior plastic well,as whatever they sprayed on the window to clean it before fitting the new film actually burnt a mark on the dashboard of my car..

Sounds like they used what i read as the ammonia method of removal.

Will check out the shop down the road and see what they quote, thanks.

  7. I use a paint shop that sells a large selection of custom colors. Pearls metal flake & Chameleon. They also have regular stock colors. The shop has a painter that does some real good work! They sprayed My ER6n for about 10,000 because I had double the amount of panels sprayed. Very reasonable & great quality. The name of the shop Is Mukdelight almost across the street from Maxxis tires (just past Pattaya Nua on sukimvette. Pm me & I will get you tele number & directions or look here

http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/topic/669428-paint-shops-for-custom-paints/ It has directions in the post. The owner speaks English decent & tells the painter what you want. I have sent 20 people there & the 6 people that had work done had high praises of the place. Unlike Toyota the body man can do any creative mods as well.He also does a great job on the frame if you need to repaint. I am currently finishing the front light housing & tach area and the wrap around the seat. Last will be the tank.

    Barry

Sounds just what i wanted as i wanted to spray it a dark candy apple red instead of the crappy red that comes standard.

  8. So if I had 2 Triple Entry Tourist Visa's with about 4 months gap between them where I was in my home country. Would I be classed as a serial tourist visa holder?

I think there is no definite answer here, all the rules are at the officers discretion who is processing the application, as we all know, if you dress well, be polite and try to show you are genuine about your reason for the visa it increases your chances of obtaining it.

Even then the visa may still be refused and the person behind you with a worse looking passport may get it...

  9. Yes thats true. A bigger airgap in a Double Glass Unit will reduce a vibrational or reflection effect that happens between the panes and transfers the sound. The common airgap in Thailand DGU Glass is 12mm. Bigger is probably possible at a higher price but we are also limited through the upvc profile that allows for a max pane thickness of 38mm.

What about using Argon gas in the air gap, does that help with only heat insulation, or does it help reduce noise as well, or is it all just hot air? cheesy.gif

  10. I have a lot of noise at the rear of my house and have a 1200x1200 low grade aluminium sliding window now, I want to replace it with a uPVC double glazed unit to reduce noise and heat, but being only 1200mm wide, I do not want a double sash, I want a top hung opening out, is this too wide for hinged casement windows in this configuration or would 3 sets of hinges cope with the weight.
