you are not forced to take meds from any hospital
when cashing out, ask them to print the bill with the prescribed medicines itemised
take it from them
ask them to remove the meds and reprint the bill
pay the second bill
leave hospital
go to fascino with first bill
show them the bill, ask them to fill out the meds, the bill is as good as a script to them
get meds at 50-60-% saving on hospital pharmacy
finished.......
You can also find the hospitals use generic brand stuff instead of good name brands, but still charge for name brands and with a good markup, so buying outside the hospital can save up to 80% in some cases.

Do people actually eat this stuff. It's been stuck on that scewer for possibly two weeks or more. I know back in the UK you have to have drunk at least five pints before you're brave enough to tackle it.
The ones on the sidewalk of 2nd road at Pattaya tai are very good, he sells out everyday, I have seen them close early as they ran out, most of the ones I see on bikes sell out too.

If you are paying for the treatment yourself... still tell them you will claim off insurance when you get home..
Hospitals don't want to bite the hand that feeds them, BPH for example has 3 tiers..
* Thai Price
* Farang with Insurance price
* Farang without insurance price
Queen Sirikit Hospital also has two tier pricing

For many years I have suffered from severe back pain that comes and goes, I have had this for about 20 years until I had a massage at the Cabbages and Condoms resort on the way to Chiang Rai about three years ago .This was really my last chance as all the medicos said like the op that it was bad, but not bad enough for anything drastic such as surgery.
I have only have slight twinges since and I have not altered my lifestyle and I still work as a pool engineer.
Great place and a good Charity.
What was so special about this massage?
After seeing Chiro, Osteo, Physio and just about anyone else they could think of I saw a masseur who had been doing it for 30 years, immense amounts of pain during the 3 visits I ditched the pain killers I had been on for two years and was pain free. She knew exactly where to press to make the most amount of pain, after each massage you could hardly move for an hour, I haven't been able to find anyone like this anywhere else, this was in Melbourne, Australia and she was Thai and had trained at Wat Po in Bangkok.

i suggest you read back over the thread
i and others like RabC have contributed loads of tips, reports and locations to get supplies but few want to listen or pay attention to whats offered
on Saturday afternoon i posted this picture (below) of a huge stack of water for sale in Central Pattaya
i deliberately left out the location.
you know what?
not one single person on or off Thaivisa has asked me where it is!
so much for serious problems and people taking it seriously.......
Where is this water please?

As a side note, The Thai consulates in France have been instructed not to issue any Multiple entry Non imm B visas, a friend had his rejected and only got a single entry and was told to extend it in Bangkok once he has his work permit, they said this was a new ruling by the MFA as of September 2011.
-
If you work in Thailand and you are married to a Thai you have two options for an extension of stay:1. based on work and most western antionals need to show an income of at least 50,000 a month. (The income requirement is based on nationality)2. you extend based on being married to a Thai wife and than you need to show an income of 40,000 a month.
This is wrong for Jomtien and was rejected by Jomtien immigration, they stated the Labour department require you to show tax payments for 50,000 baht.
-
The visa doesn't change, it is still a non imm B visa, but it gets extended under meeting the criteria for supporting a Thai wife, you can still hold a work permit in this configuration and it can be by having 400k in the bank or a paying tax on 50k per month.
With income option you only have to pay tax on 40.000 baht when extending for marriage purpose.
That what the rule says and may apply if you have money coming from an investment into a bank account, but for working immigration require Tax payments on 50k to be shown if you fall in that bracket by the labour department, it will be rejected if you only show tax PND.1 for 40,000 baht.

I think you'll find that after the expiry of your original visa ( say 3 months or whatever ) you're then on extensions of stay for whatever reason. It's not a visa. A visa just gains you access to the country. For example, my original non-B " died" in 1995 or thereabouts and I'm now on extensions of stay firstly for work and then marriaqe. It doesn't change to a non-O or whatever when your status changes. I don't have a Thai visa. I have an extension of stay. The only thing that changes if applicable is your reason for the extension of stay.
Of course I stand to be corrected.
That is pretty much what I said, the visa that the extension of stay was granted to was a Non B, the extn of stay is "Thai Wife", but it just got even more ridiculous that our neighbours have to go to immigration with us along with these pictures with them at the house and the copies of their ID cards and Tabian Bahn. These new requirements were not on the list they handed us when we first went to ask about what was required.
-
Suggest you read the rules Mr. Jimsiam. a Non Immigrant B is for work, it can be changed to an extension based on Marriage which would be an O, but only the words "Thai wife" are stamped next to the extension.
My immigration office want my Tambien Baan and my wifes, they came to visit the first time but never been back since.
And if you extend your Non B for marriage it becomes a Non O Extension
The visa doesn't change, it is still a non imm B visa, but it gets extended under meeting the criteria for supporting a Thai wife, you can still hold a work permit in this configuration and it can be by having 400k in the bank or a paying tax on 50k per month.
-
Why would you need this for an extension of a non-imm B, further a Non-imm B is not for being married...its for business or work....
Seems you better go read the rules, a Non B visa can be extended under whatever criteria you meet or want to apply under, in my case the easiest is marriage, it also means you only need 1 million baht capitalization. Do you need to see the stamps for me to prove it can be done this way?
-
Immigration just threw two new requirements in at Jomtien, they want photos of us with the neighbours and copies of their tabian bahn and id cards to be supplied by us as part of the extension, I guess they dont want to bother coming out to do it themselves.
