I have tried twice to do 90-day reporting online. Twice I have gotten the message,
"Your application for "STAYING LONGER THAN 90 DAYS" has been rejected. Please contact the nearest Immigration Office in person immediately."
The next notification is 15h May. (I have got a stapled notice in my passport). I'm on a new non-O visa which I recently got a 1-year marriage extension on.
Can I do the 90-day report at Chaengwattana?

Thanks for the quick reply, @Upnotover

I got a multiple re-entry O visa from the UK which is good through to October 18, 2024. Hopefully the week after next I'll be getting a one-year marriage extension.
My question is this, do I need a re-entry permit [for traveling outside Thailand] while the multiple re-entry O visa is active and I have the one-year marriage extension?

CW starts the under consideration period from the day you apply. If you apply 45 days early you would have have your new extension done,
FYI you can get a re-entry permit for the under consideration period.
Amazing! Thanks @ubonjoe

It depends on your IO, some allow only 30 and other ones 45 days
but don’t forget the under consideration period (which afaik (but could be wrong)) starts from the date your extension ends. (We applied early one time and had to wait 45 days on the under consideration period, that is why I changed to retirement (hated that under consideration period))
That is exactly the information that I need. (But hoped wasn't the case). The trip is for 10 days about 1 week after my current extension expires. I don't think you can get a re-entry stamp while 'under consideration', can you? If not, I'm boned.

You can do the extension up to 30 days early or 45 days at some offices.
Do you know if Chaengwattana immigration can do 45 days @uboljoe?

That dreaded time of year is nearly upon me. My current extension (based on marriage) expires on 19 March.
What's the earliest date that I can apply for another extension?
I have just realized that a trip to Japan is looking precarious unless I can extend at least 30 days before my current extension expires.
Thanks in advance for any help/advice! -
Thanks, DrJack54! I guess I'll have to get the letter the same day from BBL.
Given the choice (mostly due to OCD) I would rather have everything prepared at least the day before.
It's not a big deal, I guess.

For Chaengwattana immigration can you give them a bank letter printed the day before the visit?
My wife says that last time the officer said it had to be a letter from the same day. Though she processed my application when I provided a photocopied ATM receipt. I don't remember this conversation...I'm wondering if you guys have any insights?

Really useful information, dddave! Thanks so much!

Thanks, Oxx!

Have you ever bought anything from iHerb and had it shipped to Thailand, Oxx?
(I'm nervous as have had issues with Thai customs in the past).

This is an odd question but does anyone have an idea where to buy Ox Bile / Bile Salts in Bangkok. (Or Thailand for that matter).
I looked on Lazada and Shopee and I could only find a couple of crazy priced listings.
It does imply that for whatever reason this product might be difficult to get past customs. Quite why (like usual) doesn't make any sense.
Is Buffalo bile / bile salts a thing?
Any/all help is greatly appreciated.

I have submitted all the documents for a one year extension (due to marriage). They gave me the stamp saying 'application of stay is under consideration'.
Here's the thing. The date I need to go back to Changwattana is 5th April. I will be away in Phuket from 1-6 April.
Will I have any issues going to Changwattana on 7th April i.e. 2 days late to (hopefully) get the one year extension stamp?
As an aside I submitted the documents on 9th March so I don't get why the stamp asked my to go back on 5th April as this is 27 days...Not 30 days like normal.
I'm also a bit worried about dealing with the airline when I fly back to Bangkok on 6th April as they will likely not understand the stamp and think I am on some sort of overstay...Has anyone dealt with the same issue?

I'm a British citizen and will pick up my shiny new passport from HMPO next week.
Here's the thing. The week after I need to apply for my (one year) marriage visa extension.
Will I need to transfer current visa stamps from the old passport before I can apply for the marriage visa extension, or can I just use the new passport and maybe get the stamps transferred the day I apply for the visa extension?
I really don't want to go for the marriage visa extension and then be told I must transfer the relevant stamps to the new passport first.
Thanks in advance for help on this!

Pants. I was hoping that this was a way to bypass the horror of the preliminary queue (to get in another queue).
Ho-hum...
Thanks, ExpatOilWorker! -
Which of the categories ('Objective / Counter*') is for marriage visa extension? Is it 'Issuing Visa (C1 - Online 1)'?
I'm way confused on this one...

Not for the purests no doubt, but its Drambuie for me, but have yet to find it in Thailand, so its a duty free import job.
I'm pretty sure that I have seen Drambuie at 'La Villa at Ari'. They have a pretty good selection of whisky i.e. Ardbeg, Glenlivet etc. [My favorite is Laphroaig; sometimes they have it, sometimes not].
FYI You should also check out the alcohol shop on the basement floor of Emquartier. They have pretty much everything, and I'd be very surprised if you can't find Drambuie there.

These numbers can't be right. The author of the article likely can't count -- in general, math and Thai don't mix too well -- or doesn't understand the application of the new taxes. If prices went up by this much the trade in contraband alcohol and cigarettes would go through the roof due to the price differential between Thailand, and all the regional neighbors.
Saturday will likely be a dark day, but not nearly as dark as the article suggests. -
I would consider watching Sky News -- and a lot of other live TV besides -- through Kodi. There are quite a few apps where you can watch Sky News, and if your internet connection is good the quality will be sound.
I have True Visions, but I rarely watch it these days...

Thailand being Thailand, anything is possible. That said, if you want to get a teacher's license [which is required in order to get the work permit] it'll be an uphill struggle without a degree.
It's been a while since I was a teacher, but this was the case 10 years ago, and I doubt that things have changed much since then... -
For me it's a combination of two factors; [like other posters have mentioned] firstly you don't have the nanny state harassing you, and taxing you to death at every turn. Secondly the broad selection of choices. When it comes to most things you have a HUGE variety of choices, and at all price-points. Accommodation is a case in point; want to spend THB 2-3k per month? [I wouldn't, but it can be done]. You can. Want to live in hyper-luxury and burn through hundreds of thousands of THB per month. You can. Like the Thai say; 'up to you'.
Then there's also the women...

Hi guys,
Has anyone been to the Suksawat immigration office? If so, is it quieter/less stressful than Ladprao? Got to renew my marriage visa tomorrow, and since my wife has her company car either location is doable..
Any comments appreciated.
Cheers.
James

Yes. I live in Bangkok. Is Changwattana where I need to go?
