  1. I have tried twice to do 90-day reporting online. Twice I have gotten the message,

"Your application for "STAYING LONGER THAN 90 DAYS" has been rejected. Please contact the nearest Immigration Office in person immediately."

The next notification is 15h May. (I have got a stapled notice in my passport). I'm on a new non-O visa which I recently got a 1-year marriage extension on.

Can I do the 90-day report at Chaengwattana?

  2. I got a multiple re-entry O visa from the UK which is good through to October 18, 2024. Hopefully the week after next I'll be getting a one-year marriage extension.

My question is this, do I need a re-entry permit [for traveling outside Thailand] while the multiple re-entry O visa is active and I have the one-year marriage extension?

  3. 2 minutes ago, MJCM said:

It depends on your IO, some allow only 30 and other ones 45 days

but don’t forget the under consideration period (which afaik (but could be wrong)) starts from the date your extension ends. (We applied early one time and had to wait 45 days on the under consideration period, that is why I changed to retirement (hated that under consideration period))

That is exactly the information that I need. (But hoped wasn't the case). The trip is for 10 days about 1 week after my current extension expires. I don't think you can get a re-entry stamp while 'under consideration', can you? If not, I'm boned.

  4. This is an odd question but does anyone have an idea where to buy Ox Bile / Bile Salts in Bangkok. (Or Thailand for that matter).

I looked on Lazada and Shopee and I could only find a couple of crazy priced listings.

It does imply that for whatever reason this product might be difficult to get past customs. Quite why (like usual) doesn't make any sense.

Is Buffalo bile / bile salts a thing?

    Any/all help is greatly appreciated.

  5. I have submitted all the documents for a one year extension (due to marriage). They gave me the stamp saying 'application of stay is under consideration'.

Here's the thing. The date I need to go back to Changwattana is 5th April. I will be away in Phuket from 1-6 April.

Will I have any issues going to Changwattana on 7th April i.e. 2 days late to (hopefully) get the one year extension stamp?

As an aside I submitted the documents on 9th March so I don't get why the stamp asked my to go back on 5th April as this is 27 days...Not 30 days like normal.

I'm also a bit worried about dealing with the airline when I fly back to Bangkok on 6th April as they will likely not understand the stamp and think I am on some sort of overstay...

Has anyone dealt with the same issue?

  6. I would consider watching Sky News -- and a lot of other live TV besides -- through Kodi. There are quite a few apps where you can watch Sky News, and if your internet connection is good the quality will be sound.

I have True Visions, but I rarely watch it these days...

  7. For me it's a combination of two factors; [like other posters have mentioned] firstly you don't have the nanny state harassing you, and taxing you to death at every turn. Secondly the broad selection of choices. When it comes to most things you have a HUGE variety of choices, and at all price-points. Accommodation is a case in point; want to spend THB 2-3k per month? [I wouldn't, but it can be done]. You can. Want to live in hyper-luxury and burn through hundreds of thousands of THB per month. You can. Like the Thai say; 'up to you'.

    Then there's also the women...

  8. Just got back from the Ladprao [temporary] immigration office. Basically, it's organized chaos. [For all old-timers, it's like what a very bad day used to be like at Suan Plu 14+ years ago...]

If you've got anything complicated to do, expect a long wait. [i'd advise getting there as early as possible...]

That said, they've got computers etc. in there, so they can process 90 day reporting documents quickly once you're in front of the officer. [Getting to this stage though is the hard part ;-)]

    Good luck!

  9. I went to T.M. Chiang Wattana today, and ended up paying a THB2k fine. Out of interest, I spoke with the [very crotchety looking female] senior officer who took the fine and gave me the receipt, and asked her if there is a maximum number of times that you can run these fines. She said "no". Irrespective I have my second red stamp in my newish passport.

There was another chap there who had somehow got himself into a 180+ day overstay. [Not sure why he was in the 90 day reporting section]. If I heard the conversation right [which I might not have done] they were quoting him a huge fine.

While having to pay the THB2k was a nuisance, at least it was quick. In and out in about 15 minutes...

  10. I renewed my 1 year visa [based on marriage] a couple of months ago [for the third time] and forgot to do the 90 day report. I am liable for the THB2k fine? Has anyone else forgotten to report when they renewed their 1 year visa based on marriage, and gotten away with it?

Theoretically the 90 day report is about your address , which is something that you sign off at T.M. Chang Wattana in order to renew your marriage visa. Not sure that this argument will fly though...

    Thanks for all replies.
