Being a kiwi of scottish, irish, german and english descent I think its best to tell people that I am Maori, that way I get better benefits from the government and the ability to vote in a Maori only electroate.
I am a registered maori in NZ for voting purposes, but have no maori blood. The system is easily fooled people.
My brother is Canadian so I must be too.
As to the chinese family heritage.. well a niece speaks Mandarin, does that mean I am Chinese too now?

Never burn bridges.
Yep.. because they dont burn that well... bombing makes more sense.

Who gives a toss about the drug mule?
Not me.
She can be stupid or desperate or ugly.
Does not change the fact that she is a criminal and thus she should be locked up.
These poor woman comments are an insult to women in general as though they dont have enough brains to know right from wrong.
Forget it, she needs to be locked up for a long time at Thai expense.

Get a new job 1st and then resign giving the required notice.
Dont see how you can fail if you follow the rules and be nice about it.

Its safe.
Unless you run around in a red shirt with bottles of red fluid screaming at the top of your voice "Democracy!". In which case you will be at risk.

Its not just you!
Plenty of examples of this type of behaviour daily, like the truck crossing the centre line when you indicate you are going to pass it.
Its part of the landscape, if it bothers you just push on by, nobody will be worried unless you knock them in the gutter and swear.
Women are the worst at the MRT/BTS doors. They just have to get that last seat for some unknown reason.

I think you need... http://www.httrack.com/
Its opensource and has unix versions.
It will download a lot of stuff by the way.
And it will be 100% accurate as at the time the site is downloaded.
I have used it on and off for various offline browsing for years under windows.
Of course some site dont like you doing this.

Camry is small?
WHAT?
Its a big car compared to the poxy corolla.
Go for a CRV or similar as you will find the extra access much more conducive to moving kids+nappies+strollers than any 4 door car.
Trouble is lifting the little buggas up into the seats of a taller vehicle.

So...?
SELL EVERYTHING!
MOVE IN TO A CAVE!
BUY DIAMONDS!
Oh and live a crappy life.

Happens all over Thailand.
Always make sure your girlfriend is registered and tell them to check the register before asking for ID etc.
You will always get the dumb arse guard nite manager who cannot use the computer who will always think that a good looking asian girl is a pro, in his dreams.

Rural Petchabun and maxnet is GREAT, never an issue except when the WHOLE network goes, that has been once in the last 6 weeks.

Thailand's banks are probably safer than most in the West these days- the reason why they werent really affected by the crisis in 2008 is because they manage their funds more conservatively than Western banks.
WHAT?
Are you serious?
This has to be the most inaccurate post of the DECADE!
Keep your money off shore in a term deposit in Australia, any currency except the Euro as its going to be downward for the next year or more.
Any currency that the Greeks or Gordon Brown have access too should be sold ASAP.

So 50K a rai.
I hope it gives 3 crops a year with ample water about.
Even with 3 crops its a high price, unless its on a main rd or something.
In which case why pay more to grow rice near main road? Buy on the back plots.

Lesbians don't exist, Queen Victoria said so.

I use Direct Broking only.
You have to be resident of NZ, but they NEVER really check as a local address is the only checking they do.
I trade off shore and in theory am not able to own certain stocks/bonds but do.
NZ runs on trust in these things.
But don't use a full brokerage house as they charge the earth and they make crap recommendations.

You need an e-commerce type website from the sound of it.
Search the internet for "open source ecommerce", there are hundreds, never pay for one!
PHP based seem to be the most popular.
If you have a webhost in mind ask them what they support/recommend.

You can enter Malaysia without a Visa.
Tell that to an Israeli!

Someone asked... "What is an inactive post?"
Its a post, a post is a position, the position one occupies in ones work.
Inactive is not active, this means its passive.
Which means the occupant is passively occupying the position.
Commonly such things occur in the privacy of the bedroom, but in Thailand the Public Service has lots of them.

Absolute nonsense!
There is FAR more to the process of obtaining Thai citizenship!
Patrick
Patrick is RIGHT.
Sunbelt are talking about Residency or Permanent Residency to be more precise.
Sunbelt should correct the post as they appear to be misleading people by the typo they have made.
Citizenship comes well after PR, and in fact is very rarely given to farang. Apparently only 10 or so are given out each year.

From my understanding, the blue book is ONLY for Thais to register their address. Farangs cannot be listed in the blue book. I don't think you have anything to worry about but you should check with the Land Office to comfirm the nothing has been changed with the chanote . Of course, checking with a lawyer would be the safest thing.
I think you will find that farang who have gained Thai residency status HAVE to have a registration in a blue book somewhere.
I presume people will google "Thai Residency for foreigners" before commenting.

Sure its not a heat related issue?
Lots of notebook issues go away when a fan is placed under the notebook.
Tax Increase On Alcohol To Hit Foreigners And Benefit Tourist Police

There is no way I am going to pay 20 baht more than a Thai for a beer (or anything for that matter).
So I'll stop drinking beer and get a hip flask to boost my water consumption if i bother at all.
This type of tax is probably against some UN Charter of Alcoholics rights anyway.
