Some of the famous Australian wildlife
I was very lucky with this one, the only, and I saw many Kolas during my looking for koala and kangaroo adventure in Australia. But this one was the only Koala I saw moving.
The koala was moving from one tree to another and the koala was jumping like a monkey between the trees. I saw the koala reaching the end of the branch and I just knew that there would be a jump. So I hanged the camera around the neck and I watched the jump, impressive

It is flash, but off camera . . . and not by very much.
It was taken with a Pentax K-1 and Pentax FA 43mm f/1.9 Limited at f/5, ISO 100, 1/320s. The flash was in P-TTL HSS (through the lens metering and high speed sync mode).
The Metz AF-1 64 flash was held off camera using a TTL flash cable and the light was bounced using a Rogue Flashbender 2 light modifier. Flash was powered using a Godox PB960 with 2-into-1 power cable adaptor.
Equipment list . . .

Post-processing in Lightroom and Photoshop CC. Basic workflow - Lens corrections and chromatic aberration removed in Lightroom, then edit in PS CC, Camera RAW adjustments > Smart sharpen > High pass.
WOW! That was a lot of equipment. I just carry my (the smallest canon flash I could find) with me. I use it more in day light than in the dark as I try to take pictures with out flash in the dark. Or with a minimum flash exposure trying to make it look like it is ambient light. And it is fun to experiment with the flash exposure and the angle of the flash. I'm just a beginner so I have a long way to go. But it is fun
But your picture above shows me that you already master the technique to use flash without any glare from the reflexes, something I have tried many times and only manage a very few times. But plenty practice...
I bought a underwater house and a strobe and I tried it on dry land. BOOM! The strobe filed a whole room with light. Way more powerful than anything i have used before
Now I just wait for my wet suit. And yes, I had to buy a "SPECIAL EDITION" with so many X's I could not believe it and I will hopefully be off to Tonga to swim with the humpback whales

I'm a happy hobby photographer and I like to experiment with the flash exposure and to keep it at a minimum at close range to get effects like the above without any glare or what ever they call it.
I was out looking for leopards (with out any luck regarding the leopards) but I was very lucky to run in to a juvenile Changeable Hawk Eagle (Crested Hawk Eagle) The bird was so young I don't think she/ he could fly walking around on the ground looking lost
An adult Changeable Hawk Eagle. And we can see that she/ he have caught dinner

I did a cruise on the Mekong River and I ran in to pure joy. Nothing better than to watch children play and to have a good time. Suppose to be the best times of our lifes. And when seeing this it made me VERY happy and I felt VERY good
Now I hope that I have posted this in the right folder or what ever it is called.

I had an expensive BUPA insurance and this is getting really expensive the older you get (when you're getting really old) and they don't insure you after reaching a certain age. I have solved this by going "home" once every third year and I take a travel insurance. So far I have saved a lot of money and I had no problem to get 16,000 Baht back that I paid at Bangrumrad for a 1 hour visit when I had tonsillitis.
Yes, 16000 Baht and I was chocked and this was the last time I was at Bangrumrad after having been a customer there for more than 20 years. Now I go to the hospital on Thong Lor and I have been happy with every visit and I have never had to bother my insurance company again

Thanks Aladdin .... could be a few years before headed to BKK again but one never knows!
I am not very good with bird names, so not sure if eagle or hawk in that image with the lilies... that would have been Thali Noi Lake in northern Songkhla (that's a great place for birds in the winter months.
This is one of my better / favorite bird shots.... may have posted b4, can't remember, it's actually taken before 2013 !
Great picture, could as well have been posted in "reflections"

These were in BKK, it was quite disappointing not to catch many birds on such a long trip!
and we have lift off!
Don't be disappointed, even if you didn't see any birds you had the luxury to spend time in the nature. Give me a ring next time you're in Bangkok if you're up for some "early" mornings

Hello SummaiJimmy
Yes, I'm reviewing all the bird pictures as there isn't much else to do on this thread, until you posted your pictures a few moments ago. Nice!
Anyway, I was on page 1 and I found your picture
Can this be the Brahminy Kite. I have seen a few of them around. But this one is a tad bit too far away. The below pictures of the Brahminy Kite was taken at the Mahachai Mangroves some 90 minutes with car outside Bangkok.
And they have a special sound that is not to hard to copy, at least I thought I was under the impression that I sounded like a Brahminy Kite
But, I'm not sure what the Brahminy Kite thought. I was 4 meters from her/ him making my "EXCELLENT" Brahminy Kite sound and I thought that we had a real conversation going for us. But when I look at the pictures it looks more like she/ he looks at me wondering who the <deleted> is.
I don't know, at least I have a hart time saying of we had some kind of communication or if she/ he was just calling for help

I had hoped on my recent trip to Udon Thani, that I would see many birds.... but saw very few... and not many close up!
Not sure what these are.
Dear Su.... No. we're not walking down that path again!
Thank you for blowing life to this thread again!
Can that be an Asian Open bill?

Here is a Plantive Cuckoo from Bangkok. And I'm almost 100% sure you have heard the bird in Thailand even though you might not have seen it.
I don't know how to put the sound here, but if you follow the link you will hopefully be able to hear the bird

A Little Egret in Sri Nakorn Kuen Kan park. Just cross the river on the 3 Baht ferry from Klong Toey
A Little Egret as we can see on the yellow feet. The Cattle Egret looks the same but have black legs and feet. I use another trick when I cannot see the feet to identify the bird. If the Egret is at the water it is a Little Egret. If I see the Egret on pastures it is a Cattle Egret

I was actually VERY lucky to get to spot a tree kangaroo. So I was very happy even though a was a wee bit disappointed. I had expected a "mini" kangaroo jumping around in the tree. This one did not eve remind about a kangaroo
