  1. ^ Do you have a glass skull? Your obvious jealously of another's website seems ever so apparent. :)

But alas... a glass skull - I have not..... I am however jealous of your ugly tattoo... cause it's sooooo ugggglyyyy :D

  2. Yeah but the owner forgot to put the room rate

???? The room rates are quite clear on the website below each room, unless of course you cannot read English.

Actually JohnC my English is pretty good, but not as good as Tik's :D - It's my eyesight that's getting worse. Still though - not a very user friendly website :)

  3. We have used the Airport Bus Service both ways (Jomtien to Airport and Airport to Jomtien) - been quite happy with the service. The bus leaves exactly on time :)

Here is their schedule: I believe they've added one more bus service departure time from the Airport to Pattaya (either 18:00 or 19:00 - not exactly sure).

  4. they are vt5c vt5d and vt2a vt2b they have the letters incorrect .

Sorry you misread the website, the owner has two condos in VT5 and two condos in VT 2, he calls them Condo A,Condo B,Condo C,Condo D, Nothing to do with the building identity other than the VT numbers.

Yeah but the owner forgot to put the room rate :)

  5. This is a good website to look at.

Wow this website got everything you need about the condo(s) except the most important thing i.e: room rate :) - so much for "No Hidden Cost"

oh and that girl "Tik?" - wow her English is pretty good huh???

  6. I am looking to buy 100 pieces of the Prayer lanterns that you light the fire and they fly into the air. Where can I find them in Pattaya/Jomtien area? How much do they sell for when buying 100 pieces? I know during Loy Krathong you can could buy one on the beach for anywhere from 50 to 100 baht each.

I'm guessing you can get a better price if you buy 100 pieces.

    Thank you.

  7. Thank you all for your replies and advise. It has been very helpful for us in making our plan. We are leaving on the 5th in the morning. We will pay a close attention when we reach Din Daeng to make sure we don't go astray. We have also printed the Map - so between this map and our GPS hopefully we will not get lost.

See you in Koh Samui :-)

  8. It's not a strange question especially if you are under 50 and have no other option as in my case. I've been on Non-O multi for the past 3 years and just received another year (4th) last November from Perth. I believe the door is closing if you are NOT married to a Thai - this is why only a few consulates left who will grant a Non-O based on visiting friends.

I am hoping to get one more renewal in February 2011 which will bring me to my 50th birthday and eligibility for Non-OA aka Retirement Visa.

  9. As said by Lopburi - most likely you have a one year Non-O with multi entries - each time you enter Thailand you can stay a maximum of 90 days at which time you will have to exit the country and re-enter to get another 90 days.

You have never had Non-OA visa aka Retirement visa as it is only issued for anyone at the age of 50 or older.

I have been on a Non-O visa for the past 3 years and never asked to proof that I have 800K baht in the bank.

  10. @Gulfsailor: First thanks for your input. We want to make this into a little bit of a road trip/adventure and you're right it will cost about the same by the time we got back. We do have the proper insurance for both the truck and the boat and will have a few thousand baht in 100 baht note should there be a need to donate to the local police on the way back. We also already have the right size trailer ball (2 inch) as confirmed by the seller.

Again thank you - any other input anyone can think of as well is always welcome and appreciated.

We will let you know how it all turns out of course :-).

  11. @Rooo: Thank you - we will definitely take the Ferry to Samui from Dongsak and inquiry re: cost - returning with a trailer.

@BigC: Indeed it's a long drive. We may break it into two if we get tired - we're in no hurry :-). FYI: we used to live in Bali and drive all over Java - so long drives are nothing new to us. But thanks again for your input.

  12. @Rooo: Thank you for your advice - it is much appreciated. We will buy the VIP Ferry ticket from Bank of Ayutdhya.

@ChiangMai, Birdman, and Boater: We will be driving our own truck and we do have a GPS Navigation. We will consider taking a break half way and split the trip into two days. Because of you we now have options as to which cities we can stay in on the way down.

@Lovedog: The reason we are not flying is because we are buying a sail boat in Samui and towing it back to Jomtien. With this comes our next question: When we buy the return ticket for the Ferry at Ayudya Bank - do we buy two tickets?

  13. We have never been to Koh Samui - but on Feb 4th we will be driving from Jomtien to Koh Samui. Plan to drive to Surat Thani the 1st day and spend the night there. Get up early and head up to the ferry after breakfast.

1: Where is the ferry? and How often does it leave for Koh Samui? and How long and how much?

On Google map we noticed Donsak International Port and Donsak Ferry to Koh Samui. We are guessing there will be signs and we will see where to catch the Ferry - is this so?

2: Where would be a good place to stay on Koh Samui in the medium range? At this time of the year, we will be able to just walk in and find a room at a hotel. Chaweng Beach area okay??

The reason we do not want to make reservation is - we are not exactly sure of our arrival date as we will be driving - and would like to option to stay in Hua Hin if we like it for an extra few days.

Thank in advance for your replies.

  14. If I want to just leave the country to Cambodia or Laos, I will need a re-entry visa right? Or does my multiple entries allow me to go and come back how much I want in the period stated in my passport?

You have a Non-O with Multiple entries already - so no need to apply for re-entry visa anymore.

You can go in and out of the country as many time as you wish during the validity of your visa - with a maxium of 90 day stay each time you re-enter Thailand. Remember to go out and back in again on or one day before you visa expires - this will give you an extra 90 days.
