A simple online check and prints - not a big deal.  If someone from outside the country is getting married to a Thai it gives them advantages should they want to get involved or be involved in crime.  This in fact makes it less likely other systems may be required later to make it worse - in fact it may open the possibility of making some things easier like bank accounts ect.  Why not - as married to a Thai your vetted right.  People do this to make air travel better too.  If they would make things easier for me I would more then welcome vetting.  I don't feel sorry for those with a record - they made their own bed they lay in.

When I married here years ago (many) she had to go though a complete background check at my governments demand which included a copy of the complete family tree, police reports, interviews, and everywhere she ever worked or lived and yes fingerprints as well as xrays and a check up.  Not a big deal.

Best to go into a larger dtac store like in a central mall and take a ticket for the Q to speak with someone in English.  I have worked with dtac for years and when using that type store the result has always been great.  If not mistaken the last time I started a post pay account I just used my drivers lic. and they deduct the funds from the phone each month - you can add money at any other smaller outlet up to 24 hours before the due time or even triple it and it just rides month to month.  With the app on the phone you can track everything.  The smaller outlets are more like a kiosk operation.

Monday morning quarterbacks all talking like the guy is playing call of duty with a game reset button. Nobody knows how anyone will react when bullets start flying. I have seen the 'man mountain' turn to a pile of jelly in a combat situation, was he a coward, not at all, he just had a very different instinctual reaction to what was wanted at the time.

Yesterday we have Trump effectively calling this Deputy a coward - and everyone is  cheering. This coming from the "Commander in Chief' so s**t scared of going to Vietnam he invented 'bone spurs' on his feet - sorry 'foot' (and he can't remember which one it was!).

 

The shooter might be mad, it is debatable, but the fact that the country is mad is indisputable.

It is all based on current reports and long standing law enforcement procedure established in 1999 - none of what I said is Monday morning stuff.  I pointed to the person that said it and any ref to the size of the officer is only a question about this one officer which is the topic.  What does anything said by Trump have to do with anything I said?  I never mentioned his remarks or arming teachers that I can ever recall.  Read it again and note it does not matter if it is one person or terrorism as on site officer during "active shooter" you go in and kill on site to stop or slow the shooter - that is his job.  Not doing so is what his boss said "made him sick to see on video".  I don't give one damn about what Trump thinks or says.

SOP in active shooter is to go in and take on the shooter or shooters does not matter - if the shooter is confronted by you they stop shooting others.  He was trained that way but didn't do it.  See the ABC network report and hear his boss tell you himself - as he said it made him sick to see the video and this guy do nothing for over 4 minutes - the most important 4 minutes of all. 

Two months ago this same officer  was told that this kid (whom he knows from prior contacts with him) would or likely would become a school shooter,  alarm bells everywhere (especially after being kicked out of his home by the women that is wanting to take all the money his mother left him when she died) she even took the cash he had on hand when she booted he to the street back in November.  He was later described as making treats and felt helpless and out of control, but like so many that knew that - he and others did nothing.  Seems he was too worthless to others to be bothered with.

After viewing the video the officer was placed on leave, but because he had the time in he simply retired.  An investigation as to why a 195cm 110kg uniformed, arm and trained officer did not do his job is on going. 

The officer does have more advantage then some may know - in that the shooter a confused nitwit for one thing and does not stand a chance if confronted by a trained officer (well - a willing one anyway).  If it was a terror attack with trained killers it would have been is last detail, but that is what you get paid 102,000 dollars (3.2million baht) a year for.

Young men in uniform do as much everyday for a hell of a lot less then that.

It has been my experience that the flight can be the next day as well - as long as you have a ticket - they use the info to collect fares from the airline to support the shuttle.  It is to me the way to go  - we come in from upcountry catch the shuttle to suvarnabhumi and then get a free van for the hotel near there and return in the morning for the flight out.

Wife upgraded to pro - I have her old J7.  pro has more ram and can split screen - I didn't see any real need for ether.  The os has some changes - most noticed is it take twice as many clicks to switch language then the older J7s does.  I wouldn't upgrade for any reason other then I got her old phone for free.

I only had a one time short term problem with limited speed, but it went away - been strong 24/7 after that (vary strong in fact, love it) avg 14-16mbps international (us west coast) on a 30mbps package.

Sounds a bit like a lot of p2p or streamers in your area.

I use TestMy.net Download Speed Test which allows you to check different severs and places.

Yea I tested with both wifi and cable - I am normally on cat5.  I also used other devices/pc's too - it was a solid 10mbps - then - and now it is fine - a little better then fine really.    I had even cycled the fiber and router system on and off with several minutes of down time and got new IP's etc it was in throttle mode for sure no matter what I did - must have been a malformed router some where in cat land.  They seem to have fixed it - I was mainly concerned it might be my account only and I would have to make the call to fix it - I hate that.

It is truly amazing to me that 14 minutes after this post the account now has 44mbps - could be chance - but still amazing 5555

I had a good 30 all last week and overseas avg 12 to 16 - today I get nothing but 10 inside and out of Thailand - can tell by the speedtest it is throttling as it act just like a normal test before did i.e. jumps to 100 walks down to 30 solid inside Thailand, but now it walks down to a solid 10 going right past 30 everytime as if I have a account limited to 10 which explains the solid 10 everytime I test to an overseas site as well as inside Thailand. 

I checked every possible thing I am 100% sure it is CAT - just wondering if it is my account only or maybe other accounts are being limited today as well?

I had issues all morning with 3bb with most everything but it got better and was down to only imap.googlemail in thunderbird not working,  but it was fine in dtac if I hotspotted for it on my phone - after a short loss of internet completely on 3bb router a while ago - everything is now restored - fingers crossed - it seems to be a short term and random area problem.

This is true  -  wife no seat belt when I rolled into a road block - they write 400baht ticket and hold my license - I drive straight to the cop shop to pay - they had to call him in on the radio to bring in my License.  Because I said I was wrong and wanted to pay right away they lowered it to 100baht and gave me a receipt too.

It is a common problem for us that our pump WP305 runs constant and gets warm when we have low power - we live in the sticks a bit and happens often during the rain.  During brown outs we have to turn the pump off.  It won't build enough pressure to kick off.  Check and see if your getting proper voltage at the pump.  Other then that it may sometimes kick in and out to often went the air runs low in the tank - it has no bladder and have to allow air back in about every three months by draining pump down and re starting it.  It is not an uncommon for the tank to saturate if the water source is above the pump such as a tank.   With low voltage it can get rather warm I would say hot and you can smell it in the pump house, but tough as nails it cools off and works fine again when the power is back. 

Most any of the new cards 500 > series or the AMD type should be plug and play.  I have some older cards that have lost support in the 200 < series but even they can be made to work by downloading the older support package from repo.   You should not really have any problem installing a new card at all.  Worse case you might have to tell it to look at hardware during boot one time first time - the forum should have an instruction on that - never had to do it yet in mint 18 KDE5.  Someone on Mint forum should know the out of box range of cards supported for your desktop environ of choice.

Some 3bb routers are;

USER:           admin

Password:   (last four number and/or letters of MAC address) listed on the back of the router - that can be changed and should also.

Should be paper work that came with router and your copy of the install paper work listing all this stuff or take it into a 3bb office they can plug it in and change both login and wifi pass for you, just tell them what you want them to be.  When you plug it back in at home they will work.  Write it down both the old defaults and the new ones - a reset or uploaded change from 3bb may change them back and lock you out otherwise.

I see you said wifi 3bb if you mean you don't even have a router just using 3bb public wifi with a phone I don't know - didn't think about that untill after I posted.

Not so bad - that income requirement is easy enough - I never deposit money in Thai banks anyway and never will - to hard to get back out of the country and all that reporting crap to the US. 

The catch that many will have a bigger problem with is the health insurance requirement - I got that covered to.  90 day report is not a problem anyway.

Not having to go to the consulate once a year is the greatest thing ever - well worth it.  10,000 up front is a deal if I don't have to drive 800km round trip and pay 2700baht for a stupid document ever year (as if it ever changes other then cola increases) - less then what it cost me now for sure.  It is all good - it will thin the herd in places like Pattaya and Bangkok  - no loss.

If you can use usb connection to the PC and backed up the files to the PC you should be able to upload the same way to iphone - if it is a special cable problem then install wifi transfer in the samsung and connect to it using a local ip address it will provide and drag the files into Iphone over wifi.  I use wifi transfer between the laptop, desktop and samsung via wifi - I would hope the iphone should be able to connect via wifi - the samsung would become a mini server while in wifi transfer mode.  Wifi transfer is not seen outside your local network and uses local ip addresses.

Come on Man!  Trump didn't win Hillary lost - why? because an amount of her support stayed home - even Colin Keappernick didn't vote and admitted it.  They have no one to blame but Hillary and themselves - enough is enough.

Trump was the DNC and Media choice and you can see by the result not the choice of the GOP - they even crossed over in the primary and voted for him (the record primary number while others were down) this was so Hillary could have someone even she could beat - it gave the Burn a chance but the super delegates as rigged had her back from day one  - once Trump was in they turned on him - proof they even held back that tape which they had and could have run in the primary season - but no they didn't did they.

Many users on 3BB cannot change the DNS - You can set it in the PC or even in the router but it is redirected via back port in the router and that is locked out - you will find you are also double NAT'ed.

If you go to https://ipleaks.net/  you can see the real DNS in use and your public IP - it may change for some but not many.  Mine is controlled by 3BB only unless I use a VPN which is rare..

For seven months never an issue, but yesterday I had loss of internet every 30 minutes which sometimes recovered other times I had to restart the router.  Today seems to be back to normal.  During the outages when it returned I would be assigned to open DNS six servers in US and then after another outage it was back to a single 3BB DNS server - then it failed and returned to open DNS - I think they were having DNS server issues. 

Today it is working fine and I am restricted to the normal 3BB dns server which has been like I said working fine for the whole 7 months I have had 3BB up until yesterday,  but I have always been double nat'ed and stuck with 3BB dns server.  The router is set for google dns and so is the PC's but never has it ever seen a google DNS server. This is not an issue to me as long as I get internet and they have done that so far at speed as good as most. 

PS for the first time ever I see a new IP for the DNS server is ip6 not the normal 4 so they must have been doing server stuff the other day.

  I have an E8400 dual core running 4gb of DDR1100 at 2.8ghz stock and it won't run win10 no matter what size the HD or ram is,  the cpu is not supported.  If you can fire it up then run it past the web site at windows that will tell you if you can run win10 on that PC.  It may be the mother board is to out of date also.    I would not be making guess work out of it - they have a diagnostic which will tell you- google it.  It ruled mine out without hardware solution as supported cpu's won't fix that mother board.  Linux box now - runs mint fine.

Yes they can fix it no problem - if they have to they can clone the old sim to a new one and provide a nino or just punch out the current sim - they may want to clone it to ensure you have a sim that is 4g able even if your phone is not yet.  Free.

You can't make anything good from corn flour like they make it here (it just corn starch) - make corn meal  - I have been looking for it forever here - some cornflour (starch) can be used to turn general flour into cake flour by adding some corn flour (starch), but you can't make any kind of real corn bread from any product available here - I would eat corn bread everyday if I could find corn meal.  Learn to mill it into something other then one useless product for export.  You can't make money exporting corn product to the US - the amount of corn grown there is already high - why should I have to send off for corn meal if I live in Thailand and my house (and I am not kidding) is surrounded by corn fields.
