  1. They are not always frivolous but you would never hear an offer directly from the bank (I would think) you get it from the attorney in change of the class action via the court. If they are opening the case you have the option to be part by doing nothing and have to decline being party to the cause - your details seem odd for this type of case. Offers don't appear until after hearings and include court orders and the first contact which you would have heard from them only covers notice of intent to file class action etc.

Don't provide information about accounts etc if you have received a request for it via court order from the attorney that is on your side not the banks. Besides they can get that information from the bank themselves anyway.

    Another case;

In the case of exchange rates with master card visa - I only heard directly from the law office with reference of court orders allowing them to collect information regarding travel dates and fees on card statements in a summary form, and then I received a modification in the method of accounting for loses with option for daily travel rate or actual fees. They also maintained a web site with status of the case - after 5 years I received 2200.00 US dollars in damages based on travel dates which was the higher of the two options - that case covered 450million in wrongful charges to many different people.

Do your home work and know who your talking with and what they want as well as whom they represent - they have to disclose and maintain transparency.

" Peter Van Dermark" cases often are named after the first complaint, but find out the status of the case action and the details.

The fact that they have disclosed the fee and you paid it does not make having charged it legal simply because they duped everyone with the fee - you may be entitled to a 100% refund minus legal fees unless they are also charged the court and legal fees by the court - in the case of master card visa they had to pay back the fees and pay court&legal cost. ouch. something like 650m.

Do some homework on it - if you think the money is worth the time - I spend a total of maybe 6 hours on my side and collected 2200.00 - not a bad deal at all.

  2. The 3bb standard (adsl which you have) is 18.8mbps down and 1.8mbps up inside Thailand @ 590baht a month - mine works in Thailand fine. Outside can vary but 4-5mbps from most servers in US is pretty normal - if you are paying extra for better connectivity - some sort of premium package - I would think you should at least get the same 18mbps speed local such as a speed test inside Thailand.

Better ask again what your package is and google up some speed test inside and outside Thailand - you may have been up graded already and don't know it. Recall that the sites you go to effect your speed also - slow site slow speed fast site fast speed up to your package will allow.

"Maintaining concurrent access for all four of us is necessary." your 4 port wifi router takes care of that.

  3. Seems the local cops followed the letter of the law instead of the spirit of the law in this case.

While it’s easy to be critical of the cops, one must assume that as the farm owner filed the charge, they probably had to act on it (regardless of how petty the allegation may appear to us).

    attachicon.giftime_thief.jpg

That said, it would also seem that the Myanmar Workers Rights Network have failed this worker badly – they should have been cognizant of the fact that taking the time-card could be construed as stealing, and instructed her accordingly.

In hind-sight, it’s unfortunate that she was not advised to use a phone to photograph the time-card (either her own, or one provided to her by MWRN if she did not possess one herself).

The full article also notes that "...She was released on Bt75,000 bail and transferred to MWRN’s office in Samut Sakhon province on Saturday, along with 13 other Myanmar nationals who reported abuses at the farm...". Bt75,000 bail for stealing a time-card!

So, whilst this woman may yet be convicted of theft, it also seems possible that there will be sufficient weight of evidence against the farm owner to successfully pursue him for compensation for the 14 workers.

The report is careful to note that the “stealing” of the work time-card, and the workplace abuses by the farm owner are both allegations.

The report also did not name of the farm at this time, but it did not that, “…Myanmar workers’ rights were the main focus of Aung San Suu Kyi … during her visit to Thailand last week…”. Be interesting to now see whether she will take an interest in the case.

Finally, should the workers’ claim for compensation be successful, one hopes the farm owner is named and shamed!

"use a phone to photograph the time-card" this is the reason if you look around you will see no photo signs posted everywhere. Mostly not enforced on the spot but providing the option to charge someone if they did that rather then take the card itself catch 22. An image of the card would have been the same result.

  4. It can be complicated by a rom on the sim card and a part of many linux distributions called usb switching. Also they don't keep up todate connection info for all providers in what ever network program mint is running. Not for aircards anyway.

I years ago got both a dtac and a true card to work but found it was far more simple to just use a router with usb port that has 3g fail over so I didn't bother recording what I had done back then. With the router Just plug the card in and it works with a lan ports and wifi then provided as well.

The router still needs the card other then the more limited use mifi's I don't think they have a router which just uses the sim card. Not likely they will put much effort into development of reading all sim cards and aircards as even some new laptops can have a sim slot - the aircards are going to be artifacts pretty soon.

The use of these cards on windows normally uses the providers software installed on the sim card.

The phone usb connect uses a more standard route in the usb switching module of linux. To really get complete fix you should go to the mint forum and ask for a few command lines to copy paste to mend it.

  5. It can be ulta pasteurized or condensed milk - some have flavors added - you find a whole row full of different types at Lotus. I don't think any of them are powdered.

Most powdered milk is bagged and for some reason is vanilla flavored so you can't cook well with it - at times Makro has real powdered whole milk.

Most the condensed milks are well marked like the carnation brand and found in the same area. Lotus or the other stores should have it in a well marked can in English or I think it would be นมข้น

Speak into your translator on a phone and ask for condensed milk and play it back to them.

  6. "Now when checking for updates Windows continues searching and searching and searching."

yes it does that sometimes - then it works and sometimes if you google around you can find a way to clear a reg and make it work again. Install an AV like avg, avest, or avira etc. I found sometimes 7 does not like manual update because they can't backdoor the win10 nagware. let it auto update and deal with the nagware.

  7. Ping is a measure of time over distance - a few route or re routes can add some but by and large unless you can find a way to make the world smaller you will have pings about the same no matter who you use - that said a sat connection does have high ping because it goes up and then back to earth plus any wire. I think what you want is the least choke at the international connection. Thailand is going single gateway so soon that won't matter any more ether. Your speed problem outside Thailand is something that can go up or down and never promised by any ISP. I did find when using true 3g it didn't work well for me where I am and dtac was great - differant places have differant results. I have a 18/1.8 connection adsl and that is all I need because 90% of the time internationally I only get 3.8 - to - 5mbps

  8. There is no way to do it other then lay out something better and go for it. Make a drawing of what is needed and plan in for repairs - Unions and or compression couplings in the design will prevent future repairs from ending up looking like this. If something can be put together it should have a means of coming apart in a controlled manner.

PS these type valves will leak again and need replacement - count on it - some of them will become unusable, shuck, etc - Consider using real gate valves that will last.

  9. Thanks RKASA, I 've been working with ii all afternoon. Got it working smoother and faster. I bumped the RAM up to 4gbs like you suggested. Still can't get the screen dimensions correct though.

They can be a problem - I know the effect your seeing I have had that problem. I do know the solution was in the guest hardware setup. Try in the guest selecting auto where you can find it and it relates to screen size. I only just downloaded 10 on the wife's laptop and still lost as to where anything is and have no plan to put it in a virtual.

The problem was generally more often seen in my Linux installs then in win xp when I had that it seemed to sort out faster. Sometimes if you change the drop down selection from resize and back it kick out - it will work just have to find that one click. One time I had a mini install that would not seem to go to the right screen and then one time I reboot and it just worked?? I hate those.

  10. If you have the extensions installed it should size up properly. Check the resolution settings on the guest video hardware setup (not sure where in 10) and use the virtualbox driver (should be there) with a common PnP monitor normally works for me, but I run linux as guest - last windows I had virtual was a copy of XP a while back now.

It needs ram when virtual I don't care what they say if you can't give it a real 2+ gigs it will be jerky - when I run some linux it is the same way if it says I can run 1gig just fine it won't virtual - some kind of overhead - also make sure you asked for the number of cores you have on the host in the set up or it will by default be single core processor.

  11. OMG! did you see that - he slipped him right in the helmet. cheesy.gif

The cop is standing in front of the bike - you can see he wants him to stop and turn it off and the guy tries to drive forward and hits the cop - come on, I give the cop a brake on this one or else charge the driver with assault on the officer - lets let him decide - I bet the helmet slap was just not that big of a deal now.

Gee - If I was the cop I would charge him with second degree assault with a vehicle, failure to stop, interference with an officer etc etc etc I would get him at least 2 years, lose of license and probation - or maybe he will settle for the helmet tap to get his attention. Yea maybe that is a good idea - I bet if you take that video to a lawyer and want to sue the lawyer will advise you get all copies you can and burn them.

  12. Buy a fan first and see how that works out - I bet that it has nothing to do with heat anyway - but it is possible. Set the router on top of one of those laptop coolers and power it off of usb port if it have one.

  13. You can get all sort of good routers here for less then 50.00. Try the one that comes with your connection first - often just fine. See what problems you have with that and solve them rather then guessing what they might be when you get here. Most that come with connect have a deposit so if you just put it back in the box and hang on to it you can use what ever else you want - you may have fiber, cable or adsl so wait and find out how and what your your connecting to before you worry about how the router is.

  14. When they first mentioned getting sub's I said no they need sub hunters first or maybe only - sub hunters are more then just sub hunters they can and are used in multi task missions - we even used them over land in Vietnam after a paint job. They make great search planes and can monitor fishing fleets while still tracking any sub's - they can find and report pollution like oil spills and often follow it to the source. Location location location it is most important that they are stationed in the right area to be most effective - you can be sure they work better then air ships that can't fly.

  15. The economy is in great shape , not . has the debt been reduce under the democrats no it has increased .

yeah and those 50 million people on food stamps are so hopelessly addicted to receiving handouts by now that last week they even threatened there would be riots across America if Donald Trump becomes president and he tries to take take it off them. That's 50 million people who will rely on this on a permanent basisfacepalm.gif

Provide full time workers with a decent wage instead of 'slave wages' and you don't need food stamps or a government subsidising multi billion dollar companies profits.

Minimum wage = $21 per hour food stamp problem solved.

Why not just give everyone a basic minimum wage? facepalm.gif

Food stamp problem solved???? sorry but unless your McDonald's counter work carrier choice @ 21.00 an hour means your going to feed your grand mother and others on fixed income you have only advocated murdering them by starvation.

  16. I had two of these routers installed at different locations in January this year.

The default username / password at the time of installation will be :

    Username : admin

    Password : 3bb

Now I'm not sure whether they manually set this when doing the installation or it comes hard programmed in the router.

I do know that 3BB telephone support are actually pretty good and if you do get locked out you will be able to call them and they should be able to tell you whatever you need to get back in.

    Good luck

Edit : The default user/pass has been admin/3bb for years with 3BB, I noticed differences between online manuals on various models of router supplied to me over time. I guess 3BB buy so many routers they can have them partially configured by the manufacturer when they're delivered from the factory.

Mine was not - it was user and the last 4 number in the MAC address which I change within minutes - My fear is that was set by 3bb and won't be there after reset nor the one I changed it to that was working fine on Sunday. When I reset I hope it is the one I started with otherwise it will be user;user or one of 15 other things I found for the same router online.

If it fails me tonight when I get time to do this I will just take it into 3bb and get it reset. and get the new one configured too. thumbsup.gif

  17. Yea the manual says the default password is again something different then the org. from 3bb so I don't know if that will work or the user user or who know what ends up being the default. If it fails I am out a router until I get to town, but if the user or pass is getting changed then this thing has to go. Other then that it works fine for what I need - I just can't trust it now, but maybe they can hack them all. I know this user pass I had was a good one that worked and it is not anymore.

This is the manual I found online: http://setuprouter.com/router/huawei/hg531v1/manual-1943.pdf

    Thanks

  18. I changed it and used it just sunday so it worked - I downloaded the config file as a backup after I changed the password.

That was my main concern does the connection details for 3bb get restored too or just my changes -

So the reset does allow the user admin and last 4 MAC to get back in if that works I am good to go.
