  1. More than likely it has to do with your 3G Internet Connection (even though the same query will work fine with the same 3G connection but using a VPN Tunnel).

The google image page isn't 'static', but utilizes javascript that requires precise back-and-forth timed communications to render the pages.

When connecting directly to th.co the 3G provider 'air interface' may be subject to noise/interference where data may be misinterpreted (or discarded and requiring packet resends).

When connected over VPN using the same 'air interface', the VPN is an emulated Ethernet connection and packet recovery probably handled differently via the VPN protocol.

If your curiosity was high enough, a simple live comparison test could be done between your 3G Internet vs Wired Internet (aDSL / Cable DOCSIS / Fiber connection), repeat the same queries from the same browser using the different connection methods.

"comparison test could be done between your 3G Internet vs Wired Internet" yea that is what I m going to do this week - I will even bring the router not just the aircard and use a friends tot internet so I can see both from his router/LAN and mine own router/LAN with 3g source - the only difference will be another dtac tower then the one I use at home, but still if they both work there then it maybe it is the local tower transmission not the whole of dtac. It worked fine until maybe a month ago so maybe it will also leave at some point. Thanks.

  2. FireFox (v40.0.3 ...now updating because I dared to look, so now v42.0) on Windows 10 64-bit connects to Google.co.th image search fine, for me.

Do you have any 'plugins/extensions/addons/services' enabled in FireFox that can be messing (ie: filtering, augmenting) the pages you're viewing?

Firefox 42 and I disabled the ad ons at one point and they work with google outside Thailand anyway. 32 bit version on one PC the others like laptop are 64bit they all do the same thing from here. No matter which OS. IE worked OK but I don't use that daily and run mostly linux anyway which rules out IE as a default browser across platforms. I have to use dtac 3g I don't know why that would make a difference I have good internet connection. I ll connect my laptop in town with someones wifi and see if that makes a difference they have tot and I can dual boot and check both OS with IE and Firefox.

It is more just a matter of wanting to know why more then caring that much - I have no problem using a work around. I had a similar problem with email via Thunderbird imap and gmail servers not logging in randomly across all My PC's and having to go to accounts via browser once then they would work again for awhile - that lasted a month then went away. I never did find out why. This might also do that.

It just don't add up - so I m obsessing a bit. The cure for an obsession: get another one.biggrin.png

  3. What are you searching for ?

I just checked Google (Thailand) and the image search works !

    coffee1.gif

biggrin.png Nothing that would be blocked that is why I wanted to know. Besides Duck Duck would still filter without a vpn but works and google outside Thailand is working for me.

Guess - I will just work around co.th server.

PS Firefox - just used another browser and it worked so co.th does not like Firefox - the other google sites work with Firefox just fine but i can't get past the defaulting address without vpn running? perhaps they are missing an update to the server. I really don't want to use the other browser ether so it solve nothing.wai.gif My Firefox is fully up to date.

I will just run Duck Duck Go but it is a bit slower.

  4. If I use a vpn and avoid google.co.th and use another google server it works fine for image search.

If I just use it normally it defaults to google.co.th shows 3 images and the rest blank place holders that won't follow address ether - major fail of some sort. I have to turn on a vpn everytime I wish to image search anything at all using google.

I can switch to duck duck or other search and they work just fine also even without vpn so it must be google in Thailand. Been like this for more then a month. I know I could just not use it but reality is the main propose of google in Thailand is speed and search options using google can be better or at least they were until lately.

  5. To trust the state in judgement of ones wrong is bad enough and this is why we have juries in the first place to do that part - with or without mistakes they might make. To then allow the same state to kill a person already held in confinement and no longer able to harm others in the general public is just simply not necessary at all, and what about the possible mistakes part again.

The time and expense of lawyers and the fame these people get after conviction cost far more then just keeping them in the prison which is a real punishment and not a cheap ticket out. They should be working to produce goods for needy and disabled people at low cost all the time knowing this is all there is left of their life. This will also off set the cost of their cage and meals - waste not - want not.

  6. I don't mind Thai commentary the whole game but on both sound tracks rather then English on one like they did on GMM-Z is a bit odd - I am sure not everyone that wanted to watch it was going to get by with that vary well.

Is or was it ruled that after one hundred games leading to this one, English was OK but no longer on Halloween 2015 would it be allowed, or was it just another normal level of non professional screw-up we have become accustom to?

  7. I m seeing it also with dtac aircard in the P'lok area but only off and on - google.co.th will not give image search results but works fine if I go vpn to another location only blank place holders that don't connect to the alt address assigned to them. I was able to force google.com by edit of the address bar stop to load the search result, but now even with NCR etc it just flips straight to google.co.th. and acts worthless. I have to do all image searches with duckduckgo or turn on a vpn.

Sometimes pages load at dial up speed. Some pages stop loading and have to hit reload and try again. Strange because dtac has been solid here for years. Last few weeks is like a completely different provider has moved into town pretending to be them.

  8. But did they call you or just ask when you visited the bank. I never give info over the phone unless I called them and know who I m talking to. Someone called the wife a few years ago and she refused to answer - they even tried to tell her her account would be closed and funds frozen etc. She went into the bank with the number they called from that showed on her phone and it was a complete scam.

  9. I have the Logitech wireless keyboard and mouse set as it was priced right and has worked fine for years. Can send the PC to the TV via hdmi and take the keyboard/mouse to the TV table. Not stuck at the desk all the time. Works anywhere in the room.

The Microsoft set was available but being cheap as I m I got the Logitech for half that price at Tesco/Lotus.

Got it back in 2009 or 10 so it holds up pretty good and has dual language keys. I have seen no wear on any of the keys and I m on it daily. Have to say I m happy with the one I got and no more cables.

  10. Can anyone name any attempt by Thailand to be the hub of anything ever succeed?

It's the nub hub of Katoy.

Seriously though (and back on topic), Thailand's military junta emulates China. China has strict controls on internet, so naturally Thailand wants to follow suit. It wouldn't surprise me if China played a part in influencing the Thai generals on this flawed 'gateway' plan.

That is giving them more credit then they deserve. It is simply about buying as little bandwidth as possible - making a monopoly out of it access to it - then reselling something they don't own. Follow the money. It is a way to tax the whole internet with resulting cost and performance losses passed on to the paying public.

It is legal corruption and for the peoples own good - anyone that can't see that will get an adjustment.

  11. Language is a part of the OS and the android covers almost everything, default at power on will be thai but click click and its what ever you like.

Go to an i-mobile shop for an i-mobile phone they will download and install all current updates and add a storage card - your sim or sim's if you like - apply the plastic screen etc. We got two of the 8.1's over a year ago and don't see why anyone would pay 10,000 for a phone if you can get two phones for far less then that. 32gb storage- dual sim - large screen.

They will demo the phone for ya too. We are both vary happy with the phones we got and they include non internet digital TV & radio.

  12. Back in The early 70's I got a years worth - Living temp in New York for almost a year at the time my friends and I all signed up for the playboy club keys in New York. It was the best place to have parties and and go for drinks and buffet especially on Friday as we got warmed up for the weekends. Coat and tie required, but that gig works pretty good in New York anyway. Turned out to be a great deal in all.

  13. This statistics is BS.

I better trust Facebook in this case.

    http://venturebeat.com/2015/09/18/facebook-opens-first-thailand-office-as-it-pushes-deeper-into-asia/

9th largest country in the world in terms of FB users.

In her announcement, Sandberg said, “Every month, 34 million Thais use Facebook to connect — and they post three times more than the global average.

Meanwhile, Thailand is Facebook’s ninth-largest country, boasting 37 million users, according to social media monitoring service Zocial.

    34 million, 37 million

That alone is more than half of the population!

The way they count that bloats the number to impress investor and the like and many have several accounts as well as business having several accounts - counting real people the number is much smaller and again texting on facebook is really not internet use - most social media is just wasted time. I would be more impressed with video streaming customer count.

"and they post three times more than the global average" because at 128k you can't do anything else.

  14. Lots of Thai's on smart phones running at low speed doing text is not internet use. In most areas the schools, government office etc still have no cable and it makes use of the internet to expensive - Bangkok is not Thailand don't judge infrastructure based on tourist traps and large city - most of Thailand is in the dark and begging for that connection - it is withheld mostly by design as they spend money reducing price and rising speed of those that already have a connection rather then running any cable to those that need it the most.

added: it is more a social problem then a technical one that keeps use low - thinking anyone that does not live in Bangkok and the like is to stupid to need it is a large part of the reason they never get cable - the cable will pay for itself - built it and they will come.
