I completely understood the article, my statement was just indicating that 99.9% of the time Thai's don't complain hence nothing will get fixed.

correct .... leaving a review either good or bad reflects the buyers/users experience, nothing more .. nothing less.

This happens alot .... Shopee does the same, I wrote a review on a small fish tank air pump ... and an air stone, the pump worked for 2 days and the air stone i got was blocked. So the shop sends me a free discount voucher message to remove the truth. Typical Thailand .... we'll pay you if you don't speak the truth or we'll sue you if you do speak the truth. How is any of that even ethical let alone fair.

you know Thailand .... everything done here is smoke & mirrors .... it's all fake ... and it's all just for show. The Thai justice system is so fake, judge rulings are never neutral for both parties as they always will lean in the Thais favor. I know from experience, believe me.

exactly , you go to a hotel and it's got crappy service, bed bugs and an aircon that doesn't work, so you write a review based on your stay to let other know that the owner doesn't fix things. This is the whole crappy problem with Thailand, no thai want's to complain ! so how the heck can anything ever improve or be fixed if no one complains ..... they are such uneducated illogical thinking people, absolutely zero common sense.

OP .... In most countries if a crime is reported then the police act to catch the criminal as they know that's their role in society ... to serve the public and catch the criminals. But fat chance of that happening here ! If there's nothing in it for the cops it goes in the 'to hard basket' They really are a lazy bunch .... and it's endemic in the RTP. doesn't matter about your written story book on statistics, the truth speaks for itself.....

Very sad for the wife as obviously he was the breadwinner. The only solace if any is mournful closure since the body was found. RIP old man contractor. may you build a stone wall in heaven.

Thailand has strict antiquated defamation laws .... remember a couple of yrs back the guy in Phuket or Samui who wrote a bad hotel review and the cops grabbed him or the hotel sued him.

of course they are, to think otherwise would be very naive. TIT .... money talks .. no pay walks.

Thank you OP for opening a can of worms again. As you know this issue has been flogged more times than 10 dead horses. If you want the visa then just pay it and do the process, if you are too worried then don't get the visa and go and get your 800,000 and put it in the bank, it's that simple !!

just prepare yourself mentally and have a fair amount of cash left with someone outside you can trust so you can do outside purchases if needed, and the debit card of course. Don't worry ... 10 years will fly by so fast .. think of it as free rent & accommodation and food.
