I run my AC's 24/7 at 25C (Except the few nights were the temperatures dropped below 20C or maintenance). Then the usual (Many Fans/TV/Microwave/ Electric Water Heaters/Hairdryer etc..) My bill is usually 2,000-3,000 baht a month.

Electricity usage is one of those things that is basically math. Once you know your unit price, then it's all about how much each appliance uses.

BTW- AC are not the most consuming items in your home... if they mean over time, yes (like me that pretty much use them 24/7) But here are some typical wattages of home appliances:

    Electric Water Heaters: 3,000-5,000 watts

    Range/Oven: 2,000-5,000 watts

    Clothes Dryer (Electric): 2,000-5,000 watts

Split unit Air Conditioner: 900-1,200 watts (12,000 BTU)

    Window Air Conditioner: 500-1,500 watts

    Clothes Washer: 500-1,000 watts

Dishwasher: 1,200-1,500 watts (excluding heating water)

    Refrigerator: 100-800 watts

    Microwave Oven: 600-1,200 watts

    Vacuum Cleaner: 500-1,500 watts

    Television (LCD/LED): 50-150 watts

Desktop Computer and Monitor: 100-800 watts

    Laptop Computer: 50-100 watts

    Ceiling Fan: 15-90 watts

    Coffee Maker: 600-1,200 watts

    Toaster: 800-1,500 watts

    Hair Dryer: 800-1,800 watts

    Iron: 1,000-1,800 watts

    Blender: 300-1,000 watts

But to contribute to the topic... it's simple. Your condo management is somehow "adjusting" consumption for all tenants.

your post is very detailed and helpful, I salute you for your dedication and contribution.

  2. Don't worry about what others say ....   everyone has a different opinion,  even though some on here have a weird answer to others,   if we all had the same opinion and answered similar it would be a pretty boring forum.

We should all just learn to accept each other as they are ... and it's fine to have constructive criticism, it's not fine to be rude and nasty.   I treat us all as one big happy family.

We'll all be gone one day ... like all my relatives, so don't waste what's left by being a fruit cake.

    I need another drink. :burp:

The decriminalizing of cannabis was a last resort tactic by the previous dictatorship led by Prayut Can-o_cha to gain votes. If you didn’t realise that and decided to open a cannabis shop thinking everything would be okay with a new government, then you were gravely mistaken.

you seem to have posted this twice ...  or am I seeing double this morning

It is plainly a gagging law

It's express purpose is to protect the wealthy nothing more nothing less

It is of no use to the poor and it is used extensively to stop free speech if you have a problem with a review take it up with the website and if it is vindictive it will be removed

Don't take it up with a corrupt judiciary in order to gag opinions then bleat about it when karma kicks you in the nuts and the outside world takes notice...

to be honest .... I'm trying to understand your reply.   So are you trying to say the law is wrong ?    are you trying to say what he did is correct  ?     so you think it's fine to have  5 buddies post sh_t reviews about any place they visit and lie about it ?

  5. While there is a need for defamation as in most countries ......

The problem in Thailand is that the defamation laws go too far,  they discriminate the author incorrectly, the courts discriminate the author incorrectly.

Their logic is not actual logic,   they wrongly punish for the wrong statement.

The justice system here is like a kangaroo loose in the top paddock ... it's not democratic or correct,  and it sure ain't honest.

    No you're wrong, period!

Opinions are like <deleted> we all have one but the fact is the hotel in Koh Chang is still losing business to this day even if it's only my business! I hope the Phuket restaurant also suffers for its heavy handed use of a corrupt gagging law

What the hell has Koh Samui got to do with it, wakee wakee!!

Reviews are welcome ...  they are not ' gagging laws '     if you get a cr_p meal,  or the service is sh_t ... then fine, write an honest opinion review ....   but don't just willy nelly write 1 star reviews because of some underlying issue with the owner, and then get your friends to do the same,  that's not ' gaggling law '    .....  that's being an ass_ole and he deserves to be punished.

  7. this is a real Turkish tragedy '  ....  neighbors and locals have already organized to throw the hat around and are looking for support as the story indicates.

Did it destroy his rented villa /  does he have another room to sleep in .....  maybe next door has offered the sofa.

sadly,  there won't be any shawarma's  at Balabans tonight.

  8. There's more to this story than the British guy is telling .....

he's p_ssed off about something with the restaurant owner and it's not just the access to his condo.

he's handled it wrongly,  with his friends 1 star reviews only got him arrested,  he's as green as they come .....

now he'll have to face the music and it could cost him alot ....    not thought out very well lad  !

I didn't go and see them for 30+ years and i wished i did before they died.  All m family are dead and it's just me ...but we can't do nothing about that. Thailand’s tourism industry is witnessing a revival, with operators enhancing their services to attract the global inflow of tourists. A sought-after experience for many first-time visitors in Bangkok is a scenic cruise along the Chao Phraya River, the country’s main thoroughfare.

Chao Phraya Princess, among the largest river cruise operators, has weathered several crises, including the Covid-19 pandemic. To survive in the competitive market, cruise operators continually innovate to offer unique experiences and superior services, stated Chatree Wangpanitkul, director of Tristar Floating Restaurant Co, the operator of Chao Phraya Princess cruises. This year, the company aims to regain 80% of its 2019 clientele, a target in line with the Tourism Authority of Thailand’s forecast.

Tristar Floating Restaurant was established in 1990, evolving from a floating eatery to a dinner cruise service. Over the past three decades, Chao Phraya Princess and other pioneers have popularised dinner cruise packages, essential for Bangkok tourists.

The cruise operator boasts eight vessels, with a collective capacity for 150 to 450 passengers, managed by a team of over 300 staff. However, the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020 brought tourism to a standstill, with the company closing for a year due to restrictions and border closures.

To survive the pandemic, Tristar had to downsize some of its staff, relying on part-time workers when operations resumed. Initially, domestic customers formed the bulk of its business during the border reopening.

The company attributes its survival to quality service, attentive customer care, and strategic partnerships with reliable travel agents, leading to repeat clientele. Chao Phraya Princess closely monitors customer feedback, focusing on minute details, such as food and staff service to uphold its long-term reputation.

    Backpackers increase

Post-pandemic, the company noted a surge in independent tourists, particularly those seeking unique activities and valuable experiences. Independent bookings for Chao Phraya Princess have increased from 20 to 30% pre-pandemic to 60% currently.

To cater to the growing individual market, the company has diversified its offerings beyond dinner cruises. For instance, the latest project is a collaboration with online travel agent Klook and Michelin Guide’s Bib Gourmand vendor Jeh O, offering the famous Mama tom yum noodle.

However, the competition among cruise services has intensified, with increasing market operators and escalating operational costs such as food and energy supply, thus reducing profit margins.

To secure consistent bookings, the company prioritises attentive services, training its staff to actively engage with customers. Maintaining experienced staff, creating an appealing atmosphere, and adhering to safety protocols are the cornerstones of its cruise services.

The company has shifted its sales and marketing services towards online channels, targeting direct bookings and online travel agents. Chao Phraya Princess operates five to eight boat trips daily, depending on customer demand, reported Bangkok Post.

The company urges the government to continue promoting Thailand as a global tourism hub, offering a plethora of unique activities and developing new tourism attractions.
